Melaka were rich in history with it glorious Melaka Sultanate Empire before conquered by The Portuguese, then Dutch and British. Remnant buildings by the Portuguese, Dutch and British can be seen in Melaka.

One of the famous site left by the Dutch were the Dutch Square or also known as "The Stadthuys".. bUILT IN 1650. It was an official residence of the Dutch governor. It now houses the Historic Museum and Ethnography Museum which has many traditional bridal costumes and relics on display. The building in this area display the Dutch architecture.

All the building were painted red including the Dutch Church and Clock tower. Since all the colour is painted red, the area was also known as  MELAKA RED SQUARE!!!

....and one memorable Queen's Victoria fountain were the place for a memorable picture ...almost a must by foreign tourist and visitor taking in Melaka. Previously..there are a lot of pigeon at the place....where picture taking were more interesting with the live birds..but there is no more now...?

Lining the red building were sourvenier seller as well as "Beca" or trycle for the visitor to try..!

I HATE the Trinity Stitch in Crocheting!

I am working on a Sampler Afgan in crocheting.  It is suppose to be 63 easy stitches and they are suppose to explain each stitch so you know what your doing right?  WRONG!  Your suppose to make 63 squares, 7" in length and then hook them all together to make one afgan.

Well stitches 1-5, no problem!   I already knew those!  They are the basic stitches.  I would like to know what they were smoking when they came up with the 7" though!  Not everyone has the same guage even when using the same size hook!  The first 5 squares I was working on getting my stitches NOT so tight and my guage down; then I came to the 6th stitch, the Trinity Stitch.  That stitch can kiss my fat white diabetic ass!

First the instructions on multiple chains and such I couldn't understand, so off to the internet I went to find a better explaination.  My grannies and mom never worried about "multiples"!  I got a better understanding but still was questioning exactly what they were, so off I called my friend Traci up in WI!  "TRACI HELP!"  She starting laughing and explained it a lot better then the book and the internet and said don't worry about them, your doing it for fun so if the afgan or sweater is either a lil to big or a lil to small you just give it to the person who will appreciate it, let the anal freaks worry about the dayum multiples!

Okay so I got the first problem of the Trinity stitch taken care of, I was good to go right?  WRONG!  The instructions in the book, were confusing!  So again I hit the internet.  Guess what!  Seems a lot of people using this same book or the older one with the same stitches but a slightly different name (antique afgan-whatever) also had problems with the Trinity Stitch!  Luckly a lady that helped a lot of her friends out posted step by step instructions with pictures!  Lots easier to see and understand what they wanted!

Well my problems should have been done right?  WRONG!  I figured out the trinity stitch but do you think I could get a square with this stitch?  I tried this stupid square of trinity stitches for four, FOUR father farting days and I kept getting a circle!  No matter how many times I counted each stitch out the in the right amounts!  I couldn't get a square!  I finaly said screw it and got about the same size circle in radous as in the square hight ( can't ever spellt hat word right!) and I am going to have a ciricle in my afgan!  The stitch is right becaue it looks right compared to the picture of the trinity stitch in the book, I just can't get a square out of it!

I HATE THE TRINITY STITCH!

Just when I thought homework problems couldn't get any harder...
Solid State Physics: Homework #3, problem #3.

3) Vibrations of a square lattice.
Famous Kittel problem.

You're laughing already, but I'm comfortable so far. I find Kittel's book and open it to the chapter on lattice vibrations. There are seven problems. None of these involve square lattices. Homework assignments in graduate school may always be made more challenging by forcing you to supply the right question as well as the right answer.

Presently scouring the chapter itself (I already read it once, earlier.) for the "famous" problem. If I don't find it, I shall turn to the power of Google and Wikipedia to figure out the mystery. If none of these work, I will ask in class tomorrow. So there.
