San Antonio defeated New Orleans 99-80 last night to force a game 7 in New Orleans on Monday night. Why they are getting 3 days off is beyond me. Manu Ginobili scored 25 for the Spurs. Tim Duncan had 20 points and 15 rebounds. Chris Paul led the Hornets with 21 points and 8 assists. Former Jayhawk Julian Wright had 8 points, 2 boards, 1 assist and 1 steal in the loss.
The Utah Jazz evened up their series with the Lakers at 2 games each. It was one of the best games so far of these playoffs. Deron Williams had 29 points and 14 assists in the 123-115 overtime win. Carlos Boozer had 14 points and 12 boards. The series will continue Wednesday in L.A.
The Spurs tied up their series with the Hornets at 2 with a 100-80 blow out in San Antonio. The Spurs controlled the game from the start and had little trouble in this one. Tim Duncan had 22 points, 15 boards and 4 blocks. Tony Parker added 21 for S.A. Game 5 is Tuesday in New Orleans.
Yesterday, it was somewhat painful to watch the Houston Rockets' 22 win streak get snapped by the Boston Celtics. I guess the Celtics are number 1 in the NBA for a reason.
Tonight, the Houston Rockets got stung pretty badly by the New Orleans Hornets, causing them to take Houston's place in the #1 spot in the Western Conference. I didn't watch the game though, I just read about it in the Houston Rockets' website.
But that's ok. I still love my Rockets! I'm still happy, for as long as they are doing a lot better than San Antonio and Dallas in the Western Conference standings (which is somewhat rare, against the Spurs). I guess I just don't like the fact that the loss against the Hornets brought Houston back down to #3, placing them right under the Los Angeles Lakers at #2...
