Sprite @ MindSay
Quitting soda was not nearly as difficult as I thought it would be. It helped that my choice of other beverages are exceptionally easy to get wherever you go. Until last night. Last night I was challenged and I did not rise to the challenge. I failed. Last night I had two sodas.
Last night my project team from work had a gathering at Miller Park to watch the Brewers take on the Astros. Prior to the game, we had rented out a pavilion in one of the parking lots and had the stadium food service crew cater a meal for us. There was plenty of free food and drinks. All the beer and soda you can drink prior to the game. Wait up... beer and soda? I don't drink alcohol and I don't drink soda, either. I started digging through the soda bin trying to find a bottled water.
None.
I asked the food service attendant that was taking care of our group. She said that all my company had paid for was soda and beer, opting not to have water. I asked her how I could get a water. She told me that I would have to go into the stadium and pay $4 for one, but then I couldn't leave the stadium because I wouldn't be allowed reentry for the actual game. She thought there might be a water fountain near the stadium, but it was a 10 minute round-trip walk between our pavilion and where it might be.
Faced with these options, I grabbed a soda to drink with my dinner. I then had another one as my coworkers and I chatted before heading in to our seats. I picked Sierra Mist, a soda that has no caffeine in it, as that was one of the reasons why I took soda out of my diet. It wasn't that good. I'm not a big fan of Sierra Mist to begin with. It upsets me a bit that my first soda in almost two years was one I really didn't want. Why couldn't it have been a Diet Coke or a Sprite?

I came home today, baked myself a chicken and bacon stuffed crust pizza - and ate it whilst I watched The Weakest Link.
I shouted out all the answers I knew, and I never got one wrong.
I felt rather intelligent, especially when the dimwits on the telly got wrong what I'd shouted out right.
Anyway, I think I've either ate too much pizza, or drank too much Sprite.
Maybe it was the dodgy ice cubes I put in the Sprite?
We buy bags of ice - dad likes to have ice with his cider on his nights in.
But the ice smells like seafood.
I have this really awful feeling that the ice is recycled, having already been used in seafood displays...
Eeewww...
I really hope not.
I fell asleep on the sofa at half 6.
Dad came in and fell asleep on the other sofa.
When I woke up, I turned over - and I rolled into a nice warm patch where I'd been laid.
I have a really high core body temperature - I'm ALWAYS warm.
I'm sat here in a room with no radiator on, in a towel, with wet hair - and I'm still warm.
It's not fair - I'm on a heavy flow period, and I've leaked a little on the front of my jeans when I was asleep.
Oh how the feminine cycle radges me so.
I fell asleep because of my lack of sleep.
For the past week, I've been satying awake until 5-6AM, talking to Emily or playing on my DS.
I'd wake up exactly 8 hours later, either at 1 or 2PM.
Last night, I couldn't sleep.
I laid awake with my DS, listening to some Fire of Glory recordings Emily had done.
Not that she has a boring voice - but when people read to me, I always nod off easier.
When I was little, I listened to stories on cassettes.
I still like to. :)
Ah, the sleep habits of some people. :D

Freezepop's subliminal advertising finally caused me to snap.
When I went shopping with dad earlier, I had to add a 2 litre bottle of Sprite to the trolley.
I was actually walking alongside him, proper singing it.
What makes a melonball bounce?
The ice tart taste of Sprite!
With a melon and a scoop, and a bottle of Sprite,
You can make the prettiest drinks in sight!
I stayed up until 6AM last night, playing Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Blue.
The forum users on my fanfiction.net were discussing it - and it sparked off my impulse to want to play it.
I can never play DS games during the day - I have to play them in bed, in the middle of the night, with my headphones. :)
I'm playing as an Eevee named Emily, and a Cyndaquil called Volvic.
My rescue team is called Dominatrix.
Within 3 hours of playing, I'm at Mt. Thunder, just about to go and battle Zapdos, I've recruited 15 Pokémon to my team, and I'm at the Silver rank now, with 520 rescue team points.
WHY ON EARTH HAS "SEE EMILY PLAY" COME UP AS A SUGGESTED TAG?!
Though, I love that song.
Pink Floyd are awesome.
I NEVER EVEN MENTIONED EMILY!
Lmfao alright, I'll mention her now.
Emily and I still have our communications ban - so we're still using a limited amount of e-mails to talk. It's better than nothing.
I'm jealous of her at the moment.
I have writer's block, and she doesn't.
Grrrr...
In other news, I bought a Toxic magazine when I went shopping with dad.
This issue had 4 free gifts with it - a sweatband, a minature fiction book, a poster and an inflatable caveman club.
I like Toxic magazine.
Even though it's for like, 10 year old boys, I like the comics, the jokes, the toilet humour and the game reviews.
It satisfys my inner self. :)
So here's a photo of me with my new toy.
I even applied some war-paint.
It's actually eyeshadow - but I'm never going to use it for decent purposes. :D
Dixie smash. Ugg ugga smash. :)

I don't think I mentioned in a previous blog - but recently, my Bearshare decided to kill itself.
Ah, the great times I had with Bearshare.
The most I ever downloaded on it at once was 50 files.
Sometimes, when I start downloading, I can never stop.
I had a huge downloading fit at the start of January, and I ended up with my downloads folder filled with about 120 mp3s.
Although I don't end up liking all of it - I sometimes find some awesome things that I love.
I take bands I've heard of, or have heard songs before - and click the top rated stuff, so I know what I'm getting is decent.
Bearshare was never great for Nintendo soundtracks. It took me about 6 hours to find all 29 songs from Dancing Stage: Mario Mix.
Though, it was awesome for the Final Fantasy VII soundtrack.
Stupidly, I didn't download all of it, so I have about half of the soundtrack.
That's a game with a lot of music - the official soundtrack, apparently, is 4 discs.
The game itself is 3 discs, so.
Lmfao, that's a good suggested tag.
"downloading is fun"
Ah, the suggested tags never fail to amuse me. :)
Anyway, with a broken Bearshare - I needed a new downloading server.
On my old PC, I used WinMX - which sucked.
Then I got eDonkey - which got me a ton of viruses.
I got my new PC, and Adam suggested Bearshare - which I grew to love.
Though, I am NOT going to download Bearshare 6.
It's just a server where pedophiles trade porn videos with each other.
And yes - Bearshare WAS good for porn - they downloaded really fast, and I got a lot of results.
Though, I'm over that habit now. :)
So, I thought I'd take a leaf out of Emily's book and get Limewire.
A lot of files I got on Bearshare were taken from Limewire users, anyway.
So, after waiting several hours for it to install, a few days ago - I tried my first search.
Rammstein. :)
And, it actually found a lot of results that Bearshare didn't.
Today, I've taken the downloading fit to a new level.
The fastest download on Bearshare for me was 13 seconds.
Limewire is considerably slower - but multiple downloads go faster than they did on Bearshare.
Anyway.
My downloads folder now contains...
From starting totally empty...
It now contains:
457 files.
Yep. Tons.
I've downloaded the whole 127 track Paper Mario: TTYD soundtrack, along with the whole Hyrule Symphony album, tons of tracks from Ocarina of Time and Wind Waker...
Then I started downloading new tracks from bands I know of - then I downloaded all the new songs that are available to download for Guitar Hero 3 - so I can see what they sound like first...
(I added those to my Guitar Hero III soundtrack folder...)
THEN, I downloaded Stand By Me - great film, which has provided inspiration for mine and Emily's duo novel, Fire of Glory; notably, chapter 41 and 38.
Then, I downloaded some episodes of Super Mario Bros. Super Show - which I have a few volumes on DVD, but, when I get my iPod, I'd like to put some episodes on there.
THEN, I downloaded about 7 episodes of Little Britain - for the same reason as posted above.
I still have the whole Guitar Hero 2 soundtrack to get, bar a few songs - and the rest of the Guitar Hero: Rocks The 80's soundtrack to download too.
I got some music videos that I like - mainly Rammstein and Slipknot.
I also re-kindled my love of Eminem, downloaded a few of his tracks, and the Without Me video.
Damn, it's so funny. :)
I'm going to start listening to the new songs shortly, after I've got all the details sorted.
I can't stand mis-named files.
All my files have to be named properly - with all the details entered right.
I can't stand it when band names are spelt in lowercase, and the albums are entered wrongly with wrong dates, and all the rest - so I sort all that out.
(Which will also help organising my iPod, WHEN I GET ONE...)
Oh, and I hate it when people wrongly classify the genre of Rammstein as rock.
THEY'RE NOT ROCK!
They're TANZ-METALL!
Industrial Metal, if you so prefer, but, damnnnnn, they're not rock.
Two songs I've already listened to that I love, are Absolute, by Thousand Foot Krutch - though I can't stand the bit at the beginning where it sounds like a CD jumping...
And Sprite, by Freezepop.
It's so jumpy and happy, and the lyrics make me smile. :)
What makes a melonball bounce?
A melonball bounce?
A melonball bounce?
What makes a melonball bounce?
The ice tart taste of Sprite!
...What IS a melonball bounce?
Is it a cocktail, or?
Ah, Freezepop are weird anyway. :P

If you read entry 30, you'll know what I'm on about.
If you didn't read it - read it now. :)
Well, I just went on YouTube - just to see if there was any indiction to what a "melonball bounce" was... And I found THIS:

(...I tried to embed it, but it won't work because MindSay is SHIT.)
How AWESOME are Freezepop...
Their fans are awesome too - credit goes to FantasyJam, who made the video. :)
...You know, I think maybe Freezepop mean that a ball of melon will float in a glass of Sprite...
But I don't know...
