"Hello, I'm from the government...

and I need some money."

Please take a look at this chart. As some of you may have realized by now, our economy is not doing so great. The value of the dollar continues to fall and many people are having a hard time making ends meet. How exactly are we supposed to pay for this increased government spending that the presidential candidates are calling for?

Spending money
We went and bought a used truck this weekend. Which means we are gonna have to stop spending money on things that are not necessary or important. Like snack foods and MacDonalds. We have been doing the snacking like crazy since we stopped smoking. Gained a lot of weight in the process and wasted a lot of money. I'm not sure exactly how but we seem to have managed to spend all the money we were thinking we would save when we quit smoking lol. On the bright side it at least isn't going on cigarattes or the taxes on them which have gone up again. Except for the weight gain we are healthier now.

And I discovered a Save a Lot store not too far from here. Their canned goods are much cheaper than at the regular grocery store here. So will be doing some shopping there once a month or so to stock up. That should help some. And I am gonna plant a few things this year. Tomatoes for sure. And a few blueberry vines and raspberry vines. Those probably won't bear this year but next year perhaps will be good. Blueberries are expensive at the store.

I recieved a check  from Inboxdollars  over the weekend which will help. It's  just under 30 bucks so not a huge check. It's enough to get the tags for the new used truck though. At least it is if they haven't changed the cost on that. It was nice to get that  as  I was about broke again too. And I am liking it  a bit better since they changed it a bit. They have  made it easier to  make money with it.  Not sure easier is the right word...simpler maybe.  Anyone wanting to get a  bit of extra spending money once in a while should check it out.

The next  extra money  (after bills) that comes in is going on some mulch and potting soils for all the trees and things I am going to be planting and  transplanting.

Have a great spring folks!  :)

My Life - In Accounting

This is what happens when accountants run the government. Don't get me wrong, it's not that I have anything against accountants. I quite like mine, he's very good but there are others . . .

The US airforce has a requirement for some brand new tankers, they need them for air-to-air refuelling and also for transporting troops, both healthy and injured.

So the U.S. government opened up the bidding to all comers. The problem is that while Boeing put in a serious effort, Airbus won the competition! A french company is building these tankers for the U.S. airforce, what is wrong with this picture?

The competition should never have been opened up to foreign companies, it should have been "the U.S. government looking after U.S. interests, including industry." No, it turns out that they think they will save are dollars than the dollars the employment might have generated for their own citizens.

Globalisation is one thing and I'm all for it but looking after your own people is simple good manners. I'm not even American and I'm offended.

Well done G.W, you've scored yet another own-goal.

This is one of those funny and sad at the same time moments.

Stolen from Thomas DiLorenzo:

How the Pentagon Defines "Success"

1) Spend tens (or hundreds) of millions of dollars putting a "spy satellite" that doesn't work into outer space; then, 2) Spend tens of millions more shooting it down so that it (hopefully) doesn't kill too many people and poison the earth (knock on wood) when it crashes; and finally, 3) Use the debacle to make your case for even more Pentagon funding for a bigger and better satellite that you promise will work this time.
