Dobbs: Mexico's president shows blatant hypocrisy
CNN
NEW YORK (CNN) -- Mexican President Felipe Calderon Sunday demanded the United States surrender its sovereignty, abandon the rule of law and accede to Mexico's inherent supremacy.
In his state of the union address to the Mexican nation, Calderon established his imperialistic imperatives: "I have said that Mexico does not stop at its border, that wherever there is a Mexican, there is Mexico. And, for this reason, the government action on behalf of our countrymen is guided by principles, for the defense and protection of their rights."
Calderon protested the U.S. government's increased raids on illegal employers of illegal alien employees and work site enforcement. In what is little more than a faint nod to the Bush administration's responsibility to enforce U.S. immigration law, the Department of Homeland Security had planned to send out notices to employers from the Social Security Administration informing them of non-matching records between an employee's name and Social Security number. These employers would then be forced to resolve any discrepancy within 90 days or be required to dismiss the employee or face up to $10,000 in fines for knowingly hiring illegal immigrants.
But then, ethnocentric advocacy groups and some labor unions, trying to bolster their membership, sued to stop the crackdown on hiring illegal alien workers. A federal judge in California last week issued a temporary restraining order blocking the plan, giving a victory to the AFL-CIO, the American Civil Liberties Union and the National Immigration Law Center, all of which brought the suit alleging DHS exceeded its authority in making the rule.
That U.S. District Court judge ruled as if she were an employee of the Mexican government, rather than the U.S. government. Homeland Security was simply enforcing existing immigration laws. Are we not a nation that follows the rule of law? If not, we're no country at all.
Calderon must have been delighted by the judge's decision. Calderon, like his predecessors, Carlos Salinas and Vicente Fox, has failed miserably to establish policies that would create jobs for the Mexican people and to eliminate shameful, unchecked corruption and incompetence in the Mexican government.
Even by Mexico's standards, Calderon's blatant hypocrisy is breathtaking. Calderon told the Washington Post more than a year ago that he believes laws are not a relative concept, nor subject to a personal concept of justice. Calderon declared a big difference between himself and his rival for the Mexican presidency, Manuel Lopez Obrador, was this: "I believe in the rule of law." Obviously he does not believe in the rule of U.S. law on U.S. soil.
Calderon can't have it both ways. He cannot fail his citizens at home and then act as the Great Imperialist Protector of his citizens who are driven by poverty and corruption to enter the United States illegally. The United States provides Mexico with an annual surplus of $65 billion in trade, an estimated $25 billion in remittances from Mexican citizens living and working here illegally, and at least another $25 billion generated by the illegal drug trade across our southern border.
But it is President Bush and this Congress who should be most embarrassed, because they are failing to assert rights for Americans in their own country, rights far short of those demanded by Calderon for his citizens living illegally in our nation.
UPDATE 3 -- President Bush Suggests SPP Critics are "Conspiracy Theorists"
President Bush was asked by reporters today whether secretive SPP meetings like that ending today at Montebello are, in fact, efforts aimed at building a North American Union. The President refused to answer the question directly, but derided critics as peddling conspiracy theories. "You know, there are some who would like to frighten our fellow citizens into believing that relations between us are harmful for our respective peoples," Bush said. "And I'm amused by some of the speculation, some of the old – you can call them political scare tactics. If you've been in politics as long as I have, you get used to that kind of technique where you lay out a conspiracy and then force people to try to prove it doesn't exist."
The president said that such criticism is coming from people who "are not engaged." But the president's choice to ridicule the opposition rather than honestly answer the question struck some as odd. Such tactics, said WorldNetDaily reporter Jerome Corsi, "underestimate the intelligence of people listening, and people realize that the argument wasn't answered." Corsi continued: "Just to ridicule the idea, when he had a chance to categorically deny it, raises doubts in peoples' minds, especially when these meetings aren't transparent."

UDATE 2 -- President Bush Praises NAFTA in Remarks
Since 1994, millions of Americans have lost jobs as a result of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). That didn't stop President Bush from praising the agreement in Montebello. "If you're a U.S. citizen, you want people that live close to you to be prosperous. The more prosperity there is in your neighborhood, the more hopeful your neighborhood is," Mr. Bush said. "NAFTA, which has created a lot of political controversy in our respective countries has yielded prosperity. Since NAFTA came to be, trade between our respective countries has grown from $293 billion a year to $883 billion a year." While it may be true that the total dollar amount of trade has increased, looking solely at the grand totals avoids the messy details. Those include the fact that in the United States, NAFTA has been a significant factor in the loss of many jobs in the manufacturing sector. The economic growth has come in service sector jobs which, though they may outnumber the lost manufacturing jobs, pay considerably less than the lost manufacturing jobs, leading to an overall decline in living standards for many Americans.
Meanwhile, in other developments, the Canadian Department of Foreign Affairs instructed the Royal Canadian Mounted Police to refuse to accept delivery of a petition carrying the names of more than 10,000 Canadians asking that the Harper government withdraw from any future SPP talks.

UPDATE 1 -- Day One Wrap-up
Top conservative leades held a press conference yesterday in parallel to the SPP summit underway in Montebello to call attention to the ongoing effort, being held behind closed doors, to move the nations of North America toward an economic union, a preliminary step to full integration in a full-fledged North American Union. Speaking at the news conference was John Birch Society President John F. McManus. He was joined by author Jerome Corsi of WorldNetDaily, Conservative Caucus Chairman Howard Phillips, American Policy Center President Tom DeWeese, Veterans for Secure Borders founder Bob Park, and Connie Fogal, the leader of the Canadian Action Party.
In his statement Mr. McManus noted: "The Security and Prosperity Partnership is setting the stage for uniting the three nations of North America into a North American Union that will parallel for the West what the EU has done to Europe." WorldNetDaily's Jerome Corsi took to task those labelling SPP critics as "conspiracy theorists." "Conservative author Jerome Corsi criticized supporters of the SPP for labeling opponents "conspiracy theorists." "We're the Internet black helicopter conspiracy theorists?" asked Corsi. "What's going on over in Montebello behind closed doors? Is that not the real conspiracy?"

I personally have been an advocate for blowing up Mohammedan shrine cities or locations if Islamofascists successfully commit another act of terrorism on American soil. Yes, I know, it sounds so unchristian and medieval; nonetheless that is the nature of the enemy on the War on Terror.
About a month ago I posted an article from Dr. Don Boys (International Director for Common Sense Today) in which he advocates a modified form of the old Mutually Assured Destruction (MAD) deterrent against radical Islamists.
Those who call Dr. Boys and me a warmonger might point out that officially not one Mohammedan dominated nation officially advocates Terrorism, thus the Terrorist Organizations of the world operate independently of a national agenda. The reasoning being Mohammedans and Mohammedan nations cannot be held accountable for the actions of the minority representative Mohammedan terrorists.
The fact is clear is that the globe is fully aware that Mohammedan nations tolerate Terrorists on their sovereign land mostly by agreement with their ideology and some because of their weakness to enforce their sovereignty. The sovereign weakness in itself can be attributed to mightier Mohammedan nations that directly support Terrorist Organizations. In some cases the weak sovereign nations officially denounce terrorism but a majority of their populace is strongly behind the hated filled ideology of Islamofascism (Sunni and Shia).
To the above scenarios I say tough! If there were any honesty in promoting global peace via a democratic paradigm, Mohammedan nations would squelch the wickedness of Islamofascism. The truth is most of the Mohammedan Middle East actually teaches in their schools, madrassas, Mosques and media forms the same hate toward America, the West and Israel that Islamofascist act out. I do not buy the statistics that a majority of Mohammedans in the Middle East find the actions of Islamofascist Terrorist organizations as reprehensible. In the back of mind I still remember the television cameras panning Palestinian-Arab cities showing Mohammedan citizens pouring into the streets in jubilant celebration that 9/11 occurred in America.
Citizens of Saudi Arabia are responsible for distributing hate filled literature to Mosques and madrassas in America and Europe promoting the Wahhabi school of Mohammedanism. The very school of thought that al Qaeda and Saudi born Usama bin Laden perpetuate. The Muslim Brotherhood centered in Egypt is active in distributing their version of Mohammedan hated and medievalism globally as well. Hamas is a benefactor of the Muslim Brotherhood. Why has Egypt not shut down the Muslim Brotherhood? Because chaos would ensue in Egypt due the popularity among the Mohammedan citizens of Egypt. Shi’ite Hezbollah residing as an independent military/terrorist organization in Lebanon preaches their hate and acts of violence as sustained by the crazy Mullahs in Iran (via nearly puppet state Syria).
I am sure I have left some Islamist nuts out that reside in Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Indonesia and so on. My point is that Mohammedans can and should be held accountable for not deterring the actions of the so-minority Islamofascists.
I hear from Terrorist experts that it is inevitable that some kind of nuke or dirty bomb will be detonated in America. How should America respond to the deaths of her citizens in potential numbers that will make 9/11 appear to be a picnic in comparison? Maybe American politicians, bureaucrats and diplomats should sit on their hands and wag their mouths about how America needs to engage in greater dialogue, diplomacy and negotiation? BY GOD NO!
If a crude nuke is set off in America that will have proven those tactics DO NOT WORK WITH ISLAMOFASCIST TERRORISTS.
A modified Mutually Assured Destruction plan might be effective, to wit: Voraciously publicize if crude nukes, dirty bombs or chemical weapons are unleashed in America; America will begin targeting Mohammedan Holy cities and Holy sites. This would be a MAD tit-for-tat warning that America would need to follow through.
Presidential candidate Tom Tancredo has endorsed such a deterrent. It does not change my mind as to who I would like to win the Republican nomination; however taking such a politically incorrect stand is bold, courageous and raises his political credentials in my sight.
**Updated**
Last night I was listening to radio show and the guest on it was talking about things I already had suspicions about. Pres. Bush is destroying our country in the name of a One World Government. Or better yet, big money for big business. They are trying to drive out the middle class in America so that the rich can get richer and the poor can get poorer. This is exactly what is happening in Mexico and that is why these damn illegals keep coming over and that is also why our corrupt President has not even made an attempt at doing what is right. Closing the borders, shipping them back and protecting this nations sovereignty (freedom from external control).
Here is a recap of what was talked about:
North American Union
Appearing during all four hours, political author Jerome Corsi spoke about his latest book, The Late Great U.S.A.: The Coming Merger With Mexico (corrupt government) and Canada. The three countries would retain their individual identities under the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America (spp.gov) but would be overseen by a single Board of Directors, that could subvert US laws, he explained. This is already being done in the European Union. What this means is that if Italy passes a law that the EU does not like then the EU can disavow the law or Italy can leave the EU. Or that the EU can make a law that Italy does not like but Italy would still have to enforce it.
The plan is touted as a way to improve trade between the three countries, but Corsi sees such a union as weakening the American economy. Manufacturing and farming in the U.S. will be abandoned and all goods will be sent in from China, Latin America, and South America where they are cheaper to produce, he proclaimed. Commodities will be trucked in via Mexico along a corridor of new highways (toll roads where there once were free roads) to be built in Texas, financed by Cintra (fifty year ground leases for Giulani's group and Cintra's), an operator of toll roads based in Spain (which is owned by the law firm owned by Rudy Giuliani. This has already happened in Indiana and when they start in Texas they will use eminent domain as a cause for this action. If you don't believe me, look it up for yourself. And theses shipments will be coming out of China ((who still uses slave labor that does and will be producing our goods especially as trade continues to lean in thier direction)) through the Panamal Canal and into Texas and stored at warehouses. Produce and other goods will then be shipped to distribution points throughout the country).
After the merger, the American dollar will be replaced by a currency shared with Canada and Mexico-- the Amero. The Amero will be worth less than the current dollar, and the U.S. government will use it to pay off social security, Corsi suggested. A grassroots movement is underway to protest the North American merger, and 12 states have passed legislation to pull out of the SPP, he noted.
We have a weak assed, selfish President who is searching for nothing more than to make himself, his cronies and big business richer, i.e. gas prices. Why do you think they keep stirring up "terror warnings"? They want to divert the attention away from their actions onto something they know Americans will pay attention to. Take for instance today, Chertoff said that he had a "gut feeling" something was going to happen. Yeah probably a big monetary bonus if he said what he said. But the Democrats are doing nothing that I have found to stop this sell out of America. They are all in this together but don't think that if I find out something different that I will not post it because I will. For example, I am very dissapointed in my Senator Alexanders support of the immigration bill that Bush tried to force down our throats. I sent him a scathing email (not that it did much good) but I will not be voting for him ever again. The thing that the democrats want is socialism which goes hand in had with this one world government.
What do we do to stop it? We need to keep our elected representatives accontable and speak out like I am doing. We need to keep our eyes and ears open and read between the lines since our media is not telling us what we need to know. We need to vote out the long term lifers and start a new. We need to close the border, bring the troops back home and save our country!
And as a footnote, Pres. Bush can pardon Scooter Libby, convicted of four felonies, but not the two minutemen who were sentenced to ten years for defending our borders and shot a drug dealer in the butt, which who was given immunity from the Texas Attorney General to testify against the minutemen, who was caught a second time for trying to bring drugs over the border. We have no justice in this country.
But as soon as I finish this entry I get this email update"

Dear readers,
China has executed its top FDA official after he was caught taking bribes from drug companies. But as today's feature article points out, bribery and corruption is rampant in the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, and nobody's head is on the chopping block. Ever wonder why the U.S. tolerates blatant corruption at the highest levels? Click the story below for details.
Health: China executes top FDA official while the U.S. does nothing to counter corruption
What's interesting about China's execution of its top FDA official (Zheng Xiaoyu) for accepting bribes from drug companies is not that China executed a corrupt official, it's that such harsh actions demonstrate, in contrast, the complete lack of action...
Immigration ‘Compromise’ Sells Out Our Sovereignty
May 28, 2007
The much-vaunted Senate “compromise” on immigration is a compromise alright: a compromise of our laws, a compromise of our sovereignty, and a compromise of the Second Amendment. That anyone in Washington believes this is a credible approach to solving our immigration crisis suggests just how out of touch our political elites really are.
The reality is that this bill will grant amnesty to virtually all of the 12 to 20 million illegal aliens in the country today. Supporters use very creative language to try and convince us that amnesty is not really amnesty, but when individuals who have entered the United States illegally are granted citizenship – regardless of the fees they are charged – what you have is amnesty.
What is seldom discussed in the immigration debate, unfortunately, is the incentives the US government provides for people to enter the United States illegally. As we know well, when the government subsidizes something we get more of it. The government provides a myriad of federal welfare benefits to those who come to the US illegally, including food stamps and free medical care. Is this a way to discourage people from coming to the US illegally?
Additionally, one of the most absurd incentives for people to come to the US illegally is the promise of instant US citizenship to anyone born on our soil. That is why when Congress returns next week I will be re-introducing my Constitutional amendment to deny automatic citizenship to individuals born on US soil to parents who are not US citizens or who do not owe permanent allegiance to the United States.
There are many other very troubling items buried deep in the Senate’s immigration compromise. The bill explicitly calls for an “acceleration” of the March 2005 agreement between the US president, the president of Mexico , and the prime minister of Canada , known as the “Security and Prosperity Partnership (SPP) of North America .” This somewhat secretive agreement – a treaty in all but name – aims to erase the borders between the United States , Canada , and Mexico and threatens our sovereignty and national security. The SPP was agreed by the president without the participation of Congress. It should be eliminated, not accelerated!
According to the pro-Second Amendment Gun Owners of America, the legislation also makes it easier to target gun dealers for prosecution. Even gun clubs could find themselves targeted under this immigration reform legislation.
Immigration reform should start with improving our border protection, yet it was reported last week that the federal government has approved the recruitment of 120 of our best trained Border Patrol agents to go to Iraq to train Iraqis how to better defend their borders! This comes at a time when the National Guard troops participating in Operation Jump Start are being removed from border protection duties in Arizona , New Mexico , and Texas and preparing to deploy to Iraq and Afghanistan ! It is an outrage and it will result in our borders being more vulnerable to illegal entry, including by terrorists.
I will continue to oppose any immigration bill that grants amnesty to illegals or undermines our liberty and sovereignty.
