Sore Throat @ MindSay

Voice
Has anyone else gotten the cold from hell? I got it at the begining of October and I STILL have a cough. Still. It's made my throat so sore that I now sound like a seasoned porn star when I speak. No joke. Husky central. I just left a message for the girls about their new schedules and they probably won't recognize me. I sound husky anyway if I don't speak for awhile. Add on the sore throat and voila! Stranger is calling to give you your new schedule.      ....I think I'm starting to babble....must be the coffee..... Anywhoo!
In other news...my uncle is having his annual Halloween party tomorrow night so yay for the candy! :D I may have a cough but at the very least I can go on a chocolate binge.

Hope all you ladies and jellybeans have a great Halloween!!!!

Entry #752: Ha! Found Them!

Yesterday was one of the best days on record for me.

In a nutshell, it freaking rocked.

I started off feeling like crap with a sore throat and spent an extra hour in bed. Somehow in the universe, this was an excellent idea. When I did get up and through the shower, I sucked on one of those throat lollies. It stopped my throat from hurting and then I went to set up lights.

I knew it was going to be an awesome day because I got all the green lights to school.

All of them. Fuck yeah!

So I spent the next 9 and a half hours photographing three individual sets of people, and picking them up, and dropping them home again. What makes it even cooler is that I have at least *At Least* another 5-7 pages that I can fill in my portfolio.

I'm so excited.

I will be posting them when I get home from work and sift through the many that I have to find, 'the ones'.

P.s: Lory, if you're not busy, can you upload them for me? This totally beats writing you a note and leaving it on your desk. Ha ha ha!

ski trip insanity
We did it. We took two children, two and under, on a ski trip. Yes, both were sick. There was diarrhea, vomiting, coughs, runny noses, lots of crying, altitude sickness, ear infections, and lots and lots of fun. But at least we made it back alive!

Hannah was sick at the start of the trip. She went through three sets of clothes in the airport, and when I say, went through, I mean it went through. She vomited about 20 minutes before we arrived at the lodge. Then she got past the stomach flu/altitude sickness and just suffered from cough, runny nose, sore throat, and ear infection. Finally by Friday she was feeling better. Still has the runny nose and cough, but she is acting like her normal self.

Clara started out the trip feeling well... but eventually got what Hannah had with the cough, sore throat, runny nose, congestion in her chest, and probably a mean headache. She threw up a few times too, after eating, but I think it was the extra mucous coming out of her body. She's still sick now, she lost her voice. Her cry is a silent scream, sometimes a painful squeak. No fever yet though. I am supposed to take her to get her first immunizations this week, but that will have to wait til she's over this cold. I may take her to the doctor tomorrow or the next day.

The skiing was good, the company was good, and fun was had by all, just not by all at once. I got to ski plenty, greens and blues. Winter Park has lots of runs for every ability level. My brother and his wife were in our condo, and they had their baby, Madelyne with them. She's 13 days younger than Clara. Also, my best friend Ann stayed in our condo. Thank goodness, without Ann, Matt, and Leslie, I would have lost my sanity this trip! Also, my parents were on the trip, in another condo. They helped with the girls some too, babysitting during nap time so Clint and I could ski together. In total, there were about 25 people on the trip.

Never again will we use remote parking at O'Hare Airport. But that's a story for another time!

Laying low

The little do-hickey that hangs down in the back of my throat is all swollen and rubbing against my toungue, causing me to gag when I try to take a deep breath and is making me talk funny.  My mom had me take sudafed and some ibprophun and now she said lets wait until later to see if I should go get checked out.. Gah.  My throat hurts and when I cough I can't breath.

Our upstairs bathroom is leaking into our downstairs bathroom again, except this time by the toilet, so my parents are freaking out right now, and attempting to figure out why its leaking and how.  So as of right now, we have no toilet, becuase the downstairs one is MIA because the tile guy finally got it out last week, and was about to install new tile this week, but because of this water issue probably won't.  And since the upstairs one is leaking, they don't want me to use it... and damnit I have to go pee!

I spent most of yesterday in Vermont snowboarding at Stratton, and had a pretty peachy time.  Rachel and I, and my uncle went up thursday night and stayed at a family friends house, with my uncles friend from work, and then we got up early and went snowboarding, came back to the house, packing up our stuff and drove home.

I haven't really talked to Justin much now that he's back at school, when I have talked to him he's been pretty stressed out over money and homework.  Not having his laptop back from the repair place yet is making him a little crazy I think.

Time to lay back down and try to breath through my nose so I can get some more sleep.

I hope everybody has a good weekend!

Invisibility......
But first a pop quiz.

If you and your friend are standing on opposite corners of a street, talking back and forth to another, when is the appropriate time to cross the street so you are on the same sides?

a - when there are no cars
b - when a car is pulling up to the corner near you
c - that question is nonsense - why would be one opposite corners?

According to some lady I coulda almost killed, the correct answer is 'b.'  You learn something new every day...

And now, on to today's thought provoking (*cough* yeah right *cough*)...

There are times, mostly at work, when I would prefer to be invisible.  I don't want to talk to people, I don't want to say how our new apartment is, how the boyfriend is, or how my sore throat is doing.  I just want to go about my business, plain and simple.

Gregory doesn't believe this.  "A Leo who doesn't want attention??!!" he will scoff at me, but it's true.  I'd like to just do my thang, and not have to pretend I didn't see someone because I don't want to talk to them.

And that's my thought of the day.
