Another Way to Die
Hold on tight cause I've got a lot to cover in this entry...
First off, I started the job Friday morning. I received an 8:15 wake up call from the temp agency telling me to get there as soon as possible. The place is basically an assembly line of meats and cheeses. It's very clean and I have to wear a white over coat, plastic gloves, a hairnet, plastic arm covers, and rubber covers on my shoes. If/when I touch anything (doorknobs, the floor, my hair or face, etc.) I have to rewash my hands. I don't know how I feel about this job. I mean, my first day went well and a jobs a job but, lets be honest, this is definitely a shit job for sure. We'll just have to wait and see.
On Monday Senator Barack Obama is giving a speech in town at the Lansing Center. I really wish I could go but I'll be working tomorrow. Yesterday morning they gave away free tickets at the coffee shop I'm writting this from. The line started forming at around midnight Friday and by the time the shop opened at  9 the line was around the block and stretched almost four blocks. The tickets went fast and were gone in a matter of hours. If I weren't working tomorrow I probably would have gotten up way early and been in that line. Besides that, my Dad took the day off yesterday so I had to watch the shop. Oh well, life goes on. Besides I'll have at least four years to maybe catch him speaking come November Smiley.
Alright, so, as predicted; my friendship with Coral once again proved to be a futile effort. I'm not surprised either. But it's like why do I bother? Our lifestyles and personalities don't mesh well that's why every attempt at a friendship or relationship with her has failed. She's and overly emotional somewhat crazy woman and I'm more of a laid back guy. Things just always seem to get fucked up. (I may go into greater detail in a "Friends Only" blog later)
But right now the thing that really has me stoked (besides Obama coming to town tomorrow) is the next James Bond film. Quantum of Solace not only looks amazing from the trailer (see it HERE) But I read on line from a number of sources that the theme song will be written by Jack White (of the White Stripes and the Raconteurs) and will be preformed by him in a duet with Alicia Keys. How awesome. I mean, talk about a dream match-up!

Entry 91. [Roxxorz!] --- Guitar Hero: On Tooooooooooour!...

Dixie currently feels:

Smiley Roxxorz!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ach, what a gap.

How long HAS it been?

Dixie cannot be arsed counting the white numbers without clickable links.

But yes, tis all thanks to the legendary poster Animalluver, only Catluver to me on Mindsay now.

(Argh, that's going to confuse me.) (I'd call her by her total, but I dunno if she'd like that. :D)

Well... In July, nothing really HAS happened.

The only major life-changing event was when I suffered a 4-week long period, and got sent to the doctor's. They assumed I was anaemic, and said I needed a blood test.

So being the tyranopanophobic that I am, I waited in dread - losing more sleep at night than I normally do.

On the night before the needle, I didn't sleep at all. I started a new save on Pokémon Sapphire and played it all night, on my DS - with these headphones my mam got with her phone.

OH MY GOD, THEY'RE WELL LOUD.

They proper blow your head off.

Nothing better than cranking the volume up to full every time a Blackbelt or a Psychic challenges you. - My word, their music is legend.

So yeah, I went to the doctor's - and the nurse had given me a local anesthetic cream beforehand, so that got lobbed all over my elbows - and my arms were numbed for the whole day.

Right, so I couldn't feel the needle - but it's not the pain of them that scares me.

But either way, the nurse was talking to me like I was a really little kid - so I felt really small and weak, helpless and that. But she was nice.

Actually, there were two - the first one had to call for a second because my veins are really deep.

But yeah, I think mam was feeling a bit sorry for me after that, so... She took me into Morrison's and bought me some Rolo doughnuts.

Oh, they were NECTAR. Chocolate topping with chocolate 100's&1000's, and caramel in the middle. *Orgasmz*

But over the last couple of weeks, I've done nothing but stay awake till 5-6AM, go to sleep, wake up between 2-4PM, eat stuff - go on the forums, watch Big Brother - rinse, repeat.

How boring am I. :)

Oh, and speaking of rinse, our fucking shower's broken.

I FUCKING HATE BATHS.

I proper don't feel clean afterwards, because I can't rinse my hair properly. ARGHHHHHH...

Mam bought me Guitar Hero: On Tour on Monday. :)

It's a lot harder than the games with the actual guitar, I'll admit that.

I was really doubting it at first, because there's a lot of shit songs - but as soon as I got to level 4, the Greek Arena...

OH MY WORD...

First, we've got some crazy jazz shit about cats! That's Stray Cat Strut, by... The Stray Cats. Rofl.

Follow that up with some ZZTOP, MUTHAFUCKERS!!!

La Grange! It's on Guitar Hero III!

Another song from GH3, we've got Black Magic Woman!

(And for some reason, they censor the word 'devil'...)

BUT OH MY, THAT'S NOTHING!

BEAT ALL FOUR SONGS, AND YOU GET THE FUCKING ENCORE!!!

- THEY CALL US "PROBLEM CHILD", WE SPEND OUR LIVES ON TRIAL, WE WALK AN ENDLESS MILE...

WE ARE THE YOUTH GONE WILD!!!!!!!-

I've downloaded that song, about... Well, it was about 8 hours ago now?

Well, it's already got a play count of 45. :D

In the darndest places
Work is inspiring to write songs. Nothing especially original, mostly superimposing my own lyrics on established melodies and rhythms. I realize that in effect makes me Weird Al Yankovich. Hey, if I had his cash I wouldn't care in the slightest.

Right now I'm thinking something along the lines of the "12 Days of Christmas". Horribly out of season? Most definitely. But if I tweak it just right it could be gold. No one outside of my office would get it, but comedy is largely subjective anyway.

I don't need to, but it keeps me amused, which is why I do anything really.

Or maybe it's because I've been watching a lot of Animaniacs lately. Lord, I love that show.

Random, Inexplicable Things
1) An Elvis Costello 'Greatest Hits' CD that lacks the song 'Veronica' on it.  What is that?  It's kind of like the Queen Greatest Hits we bought several years ago that didn't have 'Bohemian Rhapsody' on it, but that was a bootleg thing we got for about 5 dollars.  This Elvis CD is legit-produced.

2)  Why it can't go more than a day without raining or being otherwise shitty out up here.  What's wrong with sunshine during summer?

3) How did it look like a normal hotdog with mustard on it, but it was one of the worst meals of my life?  I mean, all 3 aspects of it, the bun, the dog itself, and the mustard on it, were all terrible.  On a side rant, I hope I go the rest of my life never even SEEING another one of those hotdog buns that just looks like a folded piece of white bread; that might be the stupidest thing I've ever seen.

4) Why it looks like someone shaved a small area near my cat's butt between yesterday and today.  It's a tiny little section of hair missing, but it is definitely missing.  Who shaved Jackson's butt?
