Song Lyrics @ MindSay
About the longest one you've ever seen
I'll buy you tall, tall trees
And all the waters in the seas
I'm a fool, fool, fool for you
If you wanna own a great big mansion
Well, I'll give it my utmost attention
I'll buy you tall, tall trees
And all the waters in the seas
I'm a fool, fool, fool for you
Well I'm a fool, a fool for you
It may take awhile, but I'll prove it's true
Well, if it's lovin' you want, then I've got it
If it's money you want, then I'll get it
I'll buy you tall, tall trees
And all the waters in the seas
I'm a fool, fool, fool for you
If you wanna take a trip across the ocean
I'll travel anywhere you take a notion
I'll buy you tall, tall trees
And all the waters in the seas
I'm a fool, fool, fool for you
If you wanna own a great big mansion
Well, I'll give it my utmost attention
I'll buy you tall, tall trees
And all the waters in the seas
I'm a fool, fool, fool for you
I'm a fool, a fool for you
It may take awhile, but I'll prove it's true
If it's lovin' you want, then I've got it
If it's money you want, then I'll get it
I'll buy you tall, tall trees
And all the waters in the seas
I'm a fool, fool, fool for you

Maybe not the spin Mr. Jackson had in mind, but this was definitely a dad-and-daughter song when I was a kid. I had little interest in the mansion or limousine concept, but singing with my Dad and having the affirmation of affection was all I could want.
Still very much the case.
My very first lyrics and recorded as a song which I wrote, played, sang all parts and produced in my little home studio on a Tascam cassette 4 track back in the mid 90s. I wish I had all that equipment back, but that's what drugs'll do for ya. Anyway, here's the lyrics, soon I hope to post the song, my buddy next door is transferring my cassette masters from those days onto CD.
And....LOL....don't ask what prompted the lyrics, I can't remember.
It's a primal instinct a hidden thoughtful plan
But it could pull asunder
This once insighful man
It's my final instinct a vision of life for man
Given to distractions
Running away again
And I can stand here waiting
As the cars pass by
I can give a reason
But I won't wonder why
And I cross the other side
Where I stand and wait
So I crossed against the light
And that you'll have to take
Is denial instinct locking away the grin
Closer than a brother
Incriminating friends
Oh the wild instinct now we're off again
Going where we do not know
A hidden thoughtful plan
And do you know the reason
I believe in nothing else?
In belief I'm giving up the right
To see it for myself
And I can stand here waiting
I'll be waiting all my life
Next time you are leaving
Tell me and I ride.
Would you dance if I asked you to dance?
Would you run and never look back?
Would you cry if you saw me crying?
Would you save my soul tonight?
Would you tremble if I touched your lips?
Would you laugh? Oh, please tell me this:
Now, would you die for the one you loved?
Hold me in your arms tonight
I can be your hero, baby
I can kiss away the pain
I will stand by you forever
You can take my breath away
Would you swear that you'll always be mine?
Would you lie? Would you run and hide?
Am I too deep? Have I lost my mind?
I don't care; you're here tonight
I can be your hero, baby
I can kiss away the pain
I will stand by you forever
You can take my breath away
Oh, I just want to hold you
I just want to hold you, yeah
Am I too deep? Have I lost my mind?
Well, I don't care; you're here tonight
I can be your hero, baby
I can kiss away the pain
I will stand by you forever
You can take my breath away

Again, Camp Theme this summer is "Superhero," so it was a matter of time before this landed up here.
I can tell you that I'm somewhat hesitant to trust in anyone human to be my hero. My dad's had the title since I was a little girl, but anyone else has got to be someone pretty special for me to count on them.
Long before I knew your name
And the only thing you longed for
Was a sign to prove I knew the same
Somehow you knew my every secret
Before looking in my eyes
From the very moment you made me
You were thinking of the rest of my life
You say to me...
"I'm gonna love you 'til the end of time."
Somehow my heart has found a friend in time
Eternity, eternity is on my side
I'm not afraid to say, "forever,"
You have made me feel so sure
And I know it's everlasting
Though I've never had this feeling before
Keep telling me,
"I'm gonna love you 'til the end of time."
Somehow this heart has found a friend in time
Eternity, eternity is on my side
Caught in the tide
And it brought me to you
Under a spell
Though now I know this dream comes true
I'm gonna love you 'til the end of time
Somehow this heart has found a friend in time
Eternity, eternity is on our side
Eternity, I'll love you for eternity

Similar to another previous one. Love songs I love are often not quite set for the story to describe myself and my dearest love, so they find themselves being altered a bit while I'm singing to myself. As I'm not likely to have a singing career, and it's often a time with just me and him, it seems more appropriate to sing it that way.
In Indiana, 1983
Livin' on pizza and too little sleep
Just me and my animal friends
There in the distance, I saw through the leaves
Creature of beauty like none I had ever seen
The trouble started when you smiled at me
And true love's story began!
I am Tarzan; you are Jane
I am the night, and you are the day
We're like sunshine and rain
We're so different from each other
You are woman, I am man
You're the sea, and I am the land
And I would not be who I am
If I didn't have you
If I didn't have you
I know that some days, we both wonder how
We ever got together; we're still so different now
But I can't imagine my life without you
'Cause all those things that make us so different
Are just what make us all that we are
I am Tarzan; you are Jane
I am the night, and you are the day
We're like sunshine and rain -
We're so different from each other
You are woman, I am man
You're the sea, and I am the land
And I would not be who I am
If I didn't have you
If I didn't have you
We belong together

There's a very cool guy I know who's getting married today. So, I s'pose you could say this is for him.
It's also for his brother, the Tarzan in my life, who complements me splendidly. I wouldn't be who I am without you, love.
