I've decided to replace them with; water,200 sit-ups per day, (regardless of how many sessions. After all, one doesn't smoke all their ciggys at once either), painting, lifting weights and running . I have some old dishes in a bucket out back to smash when things get really rough. My biggest concern with quitting is my lack of focus on delicate and/or tedious things --like my painting etc. I haven't ran in 5 years so this ought to be good lol. Non of the online support groups really work as no one ever replies to any posts, at least not mine. I noticed maybe 2 comments on year old posts of others. Yeah, whoopee. So much for the buddy system.
I guess I have Summer resolutions.
I was hoping to have my business ready this season but I squandered most of my time at work (for someone else). I haven't given up. Now that I work thru agency, I figure I can dedicate a few days towards my own business. I just need to pick from my 137 ideas. Each with their own game plan of course.
There is this small child pestering for computer use which means I must surrender my blogging station momentarily. Or just feel the torment of her silent pressure from the other room.
Kind of makes me want a cigarette.

Could the legalization of marijuana help "bailout" America from its financial troubles?
Assemblyman Tom Ammiano of San Fransico has introduced a bill (AB390) that would legalize and tax marijuana. Each one ounce sale would generate $50 in taxes resulting in aproximatly 1.3 billion dollars a year in tax revenues for California (http://abclocal.go.com/kgo/story?section=news/local/san_francisco&id=6674064. )
California already has laws for medical marijuana but federal laws do not support them.
I say 3 cheers for Tom Ammiano! It's about time someone took bold action in the fight for legalizing pot!
And hey, I don't even smoke it but I'm all for legalizing it! Why should drug lords profit from it? Legalized gambling took profits from the hands of the mafia and put it in the hands of the state. The same with alcohol and tobacco. You cannot legislate morailty. People are going to do what their going to do and that is a fact. Why not make it work in Americas favor?
There are some really bad drugs out there we should be fighting..like meth. That stuff is lethal. But pot does less harm than alcohol or tobacco. And let me tell you if more people smoked pot there would be a whole lot less fighting going on! Pot makes you lathargic, not angry like alcohol.As a matter of fact I highly reccommend it to our government and UN meetings. Those guys really need to chill! Also, people who are on "prozac" and other anti-depressants could benefit from its use!
I smoked pot and cigarettes from the time I was 13 till 37. One day, I laid them both down. I decided niether one was healthy so I just stopped. That was 13 years ago and I'm still "smoke free". My point...I didn't go nuts or freak out..I just stopped ..pure and simple. I have no desire to smoke though I have had a million chances. It's my choice not to. I don't drink either.
If pot becomes legal, it doesn't mean more people will smoke it. It just means America will benefit from the sale instead of the dealers. Prohibition only drove the alcohol bussiness "underground", it did not stop the sales.
Marijuana is big bussiness and the useless fight against it is costing Americans billions. We have an opportunity to turn this thing around.
If you believe pot should be legalized then you should join in the fight. A group called NORML is a group working to reform marijuana laws (http://www.norml.org/), you can find out more what you can do to help there. Also, write your congress, senators, govenors and the president and tell them you support its legalization.
I've been sick since Sunday, and hence not had a cigarette since then (insert applause here) and it's not been an issue since i could barely breathe the past few days let alone think of a cigarette. I always say im going to quit when I get sick cuz my asthma kicks my ass so much and smoking for damn sure doesnt hlep. but best believe when i start getting better im jonsing for a smoke!
My first cigarette was with my 'friend' aaron outside of school (bad ass!) and it gave me such a buzz i got dizzy haha i remember it like twas yesterday. All my friends smoke and the hot hang out spot for years and years was a chain smoking coffee shop. so hey, dive in right. it's funny how quickly u turn form a casual social smoker to a smoker that lights up everytime u get in the car, or have to go to work, on break, after work, after eating, before eating. you name it. smokers will justify just about anything to smoke one more cig.
my grandparents are smokers, for loooong long time. And how that they're getting up there in age i'm watching them have problem after problem related to their addiction. My grandpa as emphazma (haha i cant spell sorry) and CONTINUES to smoke, and my grandma is such an enabler she still smokes around him! they are falling apart, you would think this would be enough for me to be like fuck cigarettes!
I always say, oh ill cut down then quit gradually, but how easily thats forgotten. so here i am puttin my plan on 'paper' and commiting!
It's a tad hypocritical of me to even be a smoker in the first place, i claim to love my earth mother and fight for her protection yet i light up all those chemicals in her home and exhale them all over her creations.. PSH! what a horrid hippie i am. Sorry.
