Sleep Apnea @ MindSay

Dr's appointment.
I went to my new Dr. this morning to discuss my bloodwork results. It turns out that i'm low on iron and I might be anemic. I hope not but, i do bleed a lot and bruise easily, i'm also low on iron. I get to go for a sleep apnea test too. I hope i don't have bad sleep apnea. I'm not looking forward to wearing a breathing machine! Oh well, if it happens it happens.

(no subject)
Ephiphanies.  Revelations.

From the information I've gathered by talking to others around mindsay, and watching Will and Grace.....I have come to this conclusion!:

A male bisexual would be perfect for me.  I know I'm crazy, and you may be thinking I've fallen off my rocker.  lol. really, kidding aside,........ wouldn't they be a very balanced personality?  A good healthy amount of sensitivity, testosterone, an open mind, nice arms,  ;).. and so on.  Who knew that bi-sexuals were the more evolved species of mankind??

I hope this doesn't come off as completely ignorant and disrespectful, because that's not my intention.  I'm just thinking of possibilities!!! :)

Grace would find her perfect man in Will if he did go both ways.  Of course he would have to stay monogamous for it to be perfect.

I may be queer in the other sense, but I am a totally straight female desperately wanting to find decency in the male population. but I keep ending up with player types that aren't relationship material or the opposite, ....a good guy with no sparks going on.

Anyways, enough with my silly ideas.  I am going to get some dinner, clean my room, watch some tv and go to bed at a normal hour.  This sleep apnea is slowly killing me and I just found out recently about it.

If you have any of these:

tend to snore
wake up in the middle of the night a lot
have insomnia
are really exhausted in the morning/tired during the day
tend to always feel deprived of sleep,
have a lot of vivid dreams/nightmares,
experience lots of headaches and migraines,
tend to feel congested or asthmatic when on your back,

.....sleep apnea might be a culprit.  It's worth checking out.  And a sleep study is quite interesting ....it tells you fascinating statistics on how you sleep.  I am hoping the treatment for my sleep apnea will improve my life like it has for others.

It's something you don't think about, but is so fundamental, if you can't breathe well during sleep, it'll cause such an array of problems including heart issues from the exertion of having to function on low oxygen, sleep deprivation, interrupted REM which is when reparation of the body at the cellular level occurs, and the obvious.  hey maybe there will be no more 3 am ponderings from me if my treatment does work!

hope everyone has a good night :)

Sleep apnea and weight loss

Sleep apnea is a serious disorder in which a person briefly and repeatedly stops breathing during sleep. People with untreated sleep apnea are more likely to develop high blood pressure, heart attack, congestive heart failure, and stroke. Women are more likely to develop sleep apnea after menopause.

Other factors that increase risk are overweight, smoking, use of alcohol or sleeping pills, and a family history of sleep apnea. Symptoms include heavy snoring and gasping or choking during sleep, along with extreme daytime sleepiness. If you think you may have sleep apnea, ask your doctor for a test called polysomnography, which is usually performed overnight in a sleep center.

If you are overweight, even a small weight loss — 10 percent of your current weight — can relieve mild cases of sleep apnea. Other self-help treatments include quitting smoking and avoiding alcohol and sleeping pills. Sleeping on your side, rather than on your back, also may help.

It is spring! This is a perfect time to be outdoors walking, biking, or puttering in the garden. Take advantage of the gorgeous weather and get serious about getting yourself healthy, lean and toned.

Work? What's That?

I probably could not be less productive at work if I tried.  These past two days have been just a joke.  If my boss knew how little actual work I got done, I'd be in big trouble.  Ah, well.  Things always manage to get done, and on time, even if I have to work like a maniac at the last minute.

I just dislike what I do.  I'd hoped it would never come to this, but it has.  My job is irritating.  It's menial.  It's trivial, much of it.  It's boring.  And now I'll shut up about it, because I'm boring you.

So yes, I did, in fact, get the table over the weekend.  It turned out to be smaller than I'd thought, but also nicer than I'd though.  So it evens out.  It looks great in the dining area.  Of course, any table would look better there than the Bowflex.

And speaking of that, I may have a buyer.  A guy emailed within hours of my ad on Craigslist.  The soonest he can come get it is Thursday.  We'll see if that becomes a reality.  I'm skeptical until I have cash in hand.

So ladyluck basically convinced me to get a MySpace page.  But now I'm peeved at them...  They've aged me!  My birthday is not for ten more days.  But it already shows me being a year older than I was yesterday.  Bastards.

I haven't yet explored Mindsay's new personal Wiki pages, but I suspect they're meant to be similar to MySpace.  But unless they really overhaul the way you can find other people on this site, it'll be just a pale imitation.

So I teach tonight.  In two short hours.  I don't really wanna.  I've been tired all day.  I can't blame it entirely on the fact that I was up late chatting with stalkerchick (though I'm sure that's a big part of it).  It's also due to the fact that I have two sleep disorders: sleep apnea and restless leg syndrome.  So even when I get a full eight hours of sleep, it's rarely of any good quality.

The sad part is that when I get home from class tonight, I know I'll just get on the computer for a couple hours, staying up too late again.

Such is life.
