Singing @ MindSay

Twisted faces.

I was watching Graham Norton the other night on T.V. and he visited a website that altered faces into different ages and races. Such as a child and an East-Asian. All you have to do is upload a front facing jpg of yourself, and you are ready to go. I thought I'd give it a try, and upload the results to my Youtube channel.

I set it as a challenge to the Youtube community. Asking them to go to the site and do the same with their picture. Then post their video as a response to mine. That way, all our strange pictures could be accessible from one place.

This video was a slideshow, so I dug out a song I wrote a few years back, to use as the backing. The name of the song is "I understand". That way I could show another of my unheard songs, whilst having fun at the same time.

Check out my video to see what happened to my photo:

As per usual. Here are some Youtube numbers.

My subs have breezed past the 600 barrier and are now 605.

My channel viewings are 12,798.

My total video views are getting real close to the 200k mark now, and currently stand at 186,136. I estimate is should take around 2 to 3 weeks to get there.

Second chance

Well the response to my last cover, "Yellow" by "Coldplay" was very positive. It had over 800 viewings in the first 2 days of being uploaded.

That was the most requested song on my list. Now on to the second most requested song. A fairly new number from one of my favourite bands, Travis. This song is called Closer, and it's taken from their latest album.

I've had some good ideas for new videos, but I wanted to keeo the best ideas back for my own original songs. So I ended up making a video for this, which was humerous. My video editing software took ages to render the opening sequence. I think it was worth it though.

Check out my version of Closer by Travis. I hope you find the video amusing. I was laughing whilst making it.

I've put several videos out over the last few weeks, but it doesn't seem to be affecting the growth in my Youtube figures so far. I've got 596 Subscribers now. Only 3 to get to 600.

My channel has now been viewed 12,631 times and the total figure of all the viewings of my videos is now up to 183,585.

That's it for this post.

(no subject)
This is absolutely the cutest thing I've ever seen in my life.

A cover of Coldplay's Yellow

This is the 67th video, which has recently been uploaded. This is a Coldplay song of their first album "Parachutes". I have been asked by many people to do a cover of this song, so it is high time I did it.

This is a number I used to sing quite often, and a number of my close friends really like it. I do enjoy singing coldplay songs, because of the subtleties in the vocals, and the opportunity for falsetto, and this song is not short on that.

This is my attempt at Yellow:

Well the numbers are still steadily rising on Youtube. Here's the latest.

My subs are now up to 589. Not far away from 600 now.

12,360 Channel views, and the total video views are now 178,166. Nearing the 200k mark.

A number of my Youtube friends recommended that I apply for the Youtube partnership program. I tried it, but got refused in a gentle way. It seems that I don't have enough original material, or enough regular traffic to my channel yet, to justify inclusion. I will probably try again at a later date :)

Peaceful, warm and tired.

In 1995 at 23 minutes past 1 in the morning, my daughter came into this world. In 2008 she finally became a teenager. It has been a fantastic thirteen years, filled with wonderful memories for me. I've taken so many pictures, and so much video of her, and I'm really glad I did. It's all there for me to re-visit, and live the memories again.

So many people have been mesmerised by my daughter. Probably because of her remarkable eyes. I would say that though. I'm her father. All parents think their own children are very beautiful. I definitely do :)

I'm very pleased that she has a wonderful nature. It's quite a rarity. She is unselfish, and would give her last penny away if she thought it could help someone. She doesn't ever ask me for anything except my company.

My daughter has also started writing poetry, which is something I did as a child. Even better. One of her poems has been selected for publication in a book of childrens works. One of only a few from her school. How proud I feel.

I decided to change 2 words from a great song called "The air that I breathe" by the Hollies. I changed the line "Making love to you" to "Making part of you". I recorded the song , and compiled a collection of video clips from my daughters first year.

Check it out, and watch out for those eyes :)

Here's the latest state of play on the Youtube numbers.

I have 577 subscribers.

The channel views are 12,095.

174,676 total video views.
