Top 5 Signs of Pregnancy

It is commonly believed that women instinctively know when they are pregnant. That's only part of the truth. The onset of pregnancy is marked by a series of changes in their bodies. Women who are sensitive to these symptoms-especially if they have been pregnant before-correctly interpret them as signs of pregnancy.

# 1. Nausea. Symptoms of nausea are a very common sign of pregnancy. Popularly termed 'morning sickness,' the symptoms may be felt at all times of the day. Many women also develop an intense aversion to certain smells or tastes, of food items for instance, that they liked earlier. Symptoms of nausea may continue to be felt even into the second semester.

# 2. Abdominal bloat. Soon after conception, hormonal changes cause the abdomen to feel distended. Your spouse may complain that her clothes are getting tighter. This pregnancy sign is similar to the feeling of bloat she experiences when she has her periods.

# 3. Tender breasts. If your spouse complains that her breasts pain when you touch them, you may have reason to rejoice. Tenderness or soreness of the breasts is another obvious sign of pregnancy. The pain is similar to, but usually more intense than, what women experience during periods. A related pregnancy symptom is a feeling of fullness in the breasts. The appearance of the breasts may also change with veins becoming visible under the skin.

# 4. Montgomery's tubercules. Somber as the phrase sounds, it simply refers to the wart like projections that form around the areolas-the dark area surrounding the nipples- of the breasts.

# 5. Missed periods. A very likely sign of pregnancy is when your spouse misses a period. The scanty menstrual-like flow that sometimes appears at the time of implantation-around ten days after conception-is not a period, and, in fact, indicates a pregnancy.

What the lunar phases mean to you

The New Moon is a good time for Love and Romance, especially during daylight hours.

When the Moon is Waxing - that is going from New to Full - the water levels on earth - seas, rivers and underground sources - are Rising. This is the time to plant, especially leafy crops and crops that require lots of water. Because of the increasing water supply, leaves and fruits can thrive. It is also the time to work on healing, growth, and prosperity. Visualizing and working on goals is a wonderful focus for the Waxing Moon.

When the Moon is Full, the gravitational pull between the Moon on one side of the earth and the Sun on the other has a great affect on our own bodily water levels, as well as the earth's. You may or may not notice the effect (depending on how powerful the Moon is in your Astrological chart), but there is no doubt that this energy creates an inner pull, or fullness - and may help us to connect psychically with others. Everything becomes clearer and more intense under the light of the Full Moon - emotions and egos can become quite inflated, and we may have more awareness and focus on relationships. You may also feel energized by the light of the Moon and have more luminous dreams. Bleeding and hemorrhaging are more likely during a Full Moon, so take care. This is the time to Harvest, Pray and be Thankful, and to work on fertility and prosperity. Love and Romance go wild under a Full Moon, especially around midnight.

When the Moon is Waning - that is, going from Full to New - the water levels are dropping and plants develop their root systems. This is the time to plant root crops as they will grow downward to reach water. This is also a time to harvest, prune and to work on eliminating whatever doesn't work in your life. Establishing your ideals and working toward solidifying beliefs can also be a focus during this time.

Just a quick little something to share before I go back home to watch haunted house movies (more about that later): the above images are of the cartoons my friend Dala asks me to draw to advertise her store.  This weekend is TRIVIA and the theme this year is British Invasion.  Clever viewers will notice I did a stylized Mick Jagger and Pete Townsend.

I try to draw a little something each day.  This is just the stuff I do for free and fun!

Just Another Thursday
Once again my day was lost to other things than what I should be doing.

Off to Yreka this morning .... insurance stuff due again ....  and of course I have procrastinated till the very last second ..... thank god for leap year and that extra day.

Then this afternoon I headed over to the Senior Center to meet with the current Bingo committee.  Yes, I do lead an exciting life.

One thing I did make clear ..... I'm not there to get yelled at ..... so, if they feel the need to bitch about stupid stupid shit like the last time ..... I have no reason to VOLUNTEER my services.  I'm 50 ..... not dead ..... and I don't live for Bingo.  I volunteer solely because of my mom ..... she loves her Bingo and would be bummed if there were not enough people available to make sure it continues on.  I also told the committee chairman lady that if the old "crew" don't like what we are doing or how we are doing it ..... they need to back off.  They walked out on the job and were ready to let it go ..... so SHUT UP!  This benefits them as well.

And of course one of the ladies that showed up today was one I about pushed away from me last Monday ..... she was up in my face ..... and I don't freaking care how old you are .....  trust me, if you are in my face you are going to get pushed away.  Or punched out.  One of the two.  So back off.

Another beautiful day ..... sunny ..... and warmer ..... 55 degrees today.  Our artichokes are showing some signs of life as well as the rhubarb.  And the onions have shown some life as well.  Its amazing what a little sunshine can do.  Seriously ..... spring / summer can not get here soon enough to suit me.  As I have said many times before.

So tomorrow I need to get up  early and force myself to get moving.  Thinking a little geocaching this weekend ..... ***fingers crossed***

And speaking of geocaching ..... the cache I hid last week ..... private property.  One of my finders got his ass chewed apparently .... and the owner of the property "not amused".  Well, there are no signs .... none, no "Private Property", no "No Trespassing", no fencing .... nothing ..... but the cacher that the owner found assured him I would remove the cache.  He (the cacher) then contacted me.  We had snow and rain for a couple days after that ..... I got over there on Monday ..... the cache was gone.  So today I go back knock on the door of the closest house which was about 1/3 mile down the road .... opposite side of the road from where the cache was.  It was a very quick visit as he told me without hesitation he had thrown it away.  And I realized there was no reason to rant ..... it would only make things worse.  The bad part is the coin someone had dropped into the cache.  I guess I need to offer to replace it.  I apologized for my mistake but feel that it was met on deaf ears.  He said something about vandals .... but yet again, no signs at all .... no fencing ..... and close to the forest service boundary .... its like he is inviting vandals .... and most geocachers are not vandals .... most are very respectful folk.  Done ranting.

I hope everyone's Thursday was grand.  And enjoy what is left of your evening.

Tomorrow is another day .... yay ....

Peace.  J.
