Show @ MindSay

TV and Pop Culture
So I stopped by my parents house today & that obstacle course show was on tv.  I honestly was kind of disappointed for a minute.  I mean, I remember being in my dorm room years ago laughing at the super late night Japanese TV shows, but I never thought it would ever make it to prime time because of the fact that those shows were so ridiculous.  On another note, it's a pretty wierd role reversal to me.  For years there were parts of Japanese culture that has in one way or another imitated the culture of the United States.  I mean, if you're going to imitate, at least make it something worth imitating, like their super cool cell phones, or the Bullet Train to help with my morning commute when I'm running late.

The Moment Of Truth
I think The Moment Of Truth would be an easy game show to win. I mean, look at it this way: you go on, they ask you questions. No matter what answer you give the detector will say whether or not you're telling the truth. But if you lie you lose the money and go home. So either way people are going to know the truth. So why not just be completey truthful? I mean, duh!

"I wanna get some gasoline..."
I went to see Seether, Flyleaf, and Red last night in Baltimore with six24  and another friend of ours.  Most people don't know who Red is yet, but Six and I have been fans of theirs for awhile now, and it was a great show from all three bands.  We got a pretty good show in some other aspects as well, haha.  There's nothing quite like screaming some angry lyrics when you're going through a divorce.

To-Do! To-Do! I really really do!
Can't go through the paperwork for fall until I have a definite answer back from camp.

Can't go through the paperwork for camp until I have a definite answer on the show.

There are four events this summer, including the show, that conflict a bit with camp. One'd be my dear friend's wedding. One'd be a music fest I've been meaning to go to for about three years and figure that since I won't be able to for the next few, I want to do it now. One would be another wedding that I'm not entirely certain that I'm invited to, but we'll see how that goes.

The show is a tricky little beast. If all goes well, rehearsals will wrap up the same week as fuhstified's wedding, so that I'm only missing a rehearsal, not a performance. Training week for camp staff starts the Sunday after her wedding.

Actually, training week for me as a senior counselor starts the week of, but I'm going to ask T if I can be in with the high schoolers on their week, because wedding prep is going to be keeping us all a mite busy.

I promise, I was not planning to add on the show. That was a case of director calling, and pushing the right buttons. There actually is a proper sequence to this for getting me to commit to something, and it's not manipulating. I told her that if the dates work, I will do the show. I promise nothing beyond this.

But the problem with camp is that T needs to know beforehand what weeks are a little goofy for my schedule before she can consider whether or not she wants me this year. And if she doesn't want me this year, then the paperwork on fall will be slightly altered, and I'll be leaving a month earlier than anticipated.

Which is fine. I just want to have it done! Get it in!
