Here is a piece of art work that I just "blognapped" from a reply on paleale's blog. As you can see, it is a very tasteful and well done nude of a very attractive blond female.

Onyia, now Spanish

end of season sale

Watching the first leg of the IAAF Golden League in Oslo two weeks, I was completely astounded to see another Nigerian hurdler in Spanish colours.

This was not Glory Alozie, who ditched the country in 2001 after winning silver medal at the Sydney Olympics, but a young lovely talent - Josephine Onyia.

She came 5th in a modest 12.93seconds , but last week took the women's 100m hurdles at the 46th Zlata Tetra -Golden Spike, IAAF Grand Prix meet in Ostrava with 12.91 seconds.

Nigerian athletics technical director, Sunday Bada could only lament at another talent drain. He described change of nationality as another medal lost at next month's All Africa Games.

Bada told the Nigerian Daily Champion newspapers:

"Our athletes are leaving in great numbers, we must have to stem this trend otherwise that is how we would be losing our best athletics talents."

Onyia, who currently lives and trains with Alozie in Valencia has a season's best of 12.82 seconds over the 100m hurdles with a season's best of 12.82 seconds and will now represent her adopted country in the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

So where do Africa go from here? should we simply resign that we will forever be losing our best talents to the developed and richer nations? what do you think is the way forward for Africa?

on the best note for today.
i p.r.'d!! by 3 freakin seconds. that's fucking amazing. i don't care if my time is now 30 sec. for 200M. if that's super good or not i don't care. i p.r.'d by 3 freaking seconds. that's just fucking amazing.

oh and the bad stuff?

bitch. take the fact that i'm a freshman on j.v. and i'm faster than you. don't go around and tell people that you're fastest. because you know why? YOU'RE NOT! get over it. stop telling people you're faster than i am. just stop. you're fucking stupid.

and another person. okay. when i'm having a convorsation with you. don't get on your freaking cell phone right in the middle of the convorsation. that's incredibely rude and just...RUDE. goddamn. that also makes me feel really akward just standing there. and then you walked away. what the fuck?

and that was our meet today. it was pretty great.

did i mention i p.r.'d by 3 seconds in the 200M? it was amazing. :D

Fasuba's world lead

NIGERIAS OLUSOJI FASUBA - ATHLETICSAFRICAAfrican sprint champion Olusoji Fasuba earned himself a personal best as he kicks the season off on a fast note with a storming finish at the 21st edition of the Sparkassen Cup at the Stuttgart’s Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle in Germany.

The 23-year-old Nigerian powered out of the blocks in lane 3 in the final of the men’s 60 metres to win in a world-leading 6.49 seconds, just 0.01 seconds off the eight-year-old national record held by compatriot Deji Aliu (6.48 seconds set at the Indoor World Championships in Maebashi in 1999).
