French court tries Church of Scientology; group and 7 leaders charged
It seems to me clear from the historical record that Sci-Fi author L.R.H. only started calling his money making scheme a religion in order to avoid paying taxes...

French court tries Church of Scientology; group and 7 leaders charged

By Pierre-Antoine Souchard, The Associated Press

PARIS - The Church of Scientology could be dissolved in France if it is convicted in a trial that opened Monday in a Paris court, where the group and seven of its French leaders stand charged of organized fraud and illegal pharmaceutical activity.

The group, considered a sect in France, has faced prosecution and difficulties in registering its activities in many countries.

The trial comes more than a decade after one of the three plaintiffs originally filed a complaint against the Church of Scientology. A young woman said she took out loans and spent the equivalent of close to US$30,000 on books, courses and "purification packages" after being recruited by the group in 1998. When she sought reimbursement and to leave the group, its leadership refused.

Investigating judge Jean-Christophe Hullin spent years examining the group's activities, and in his indictment criticized practices he said were aimed at extracting large sums of money from members and plunging them into a "state of subjection."

The investigator questioned what he called the Scientologists' "obsession" with financial gain, and the group's practice of selling vitamins, leading to the charge of "acting illegally as a pharmacy."

Patrick Maisonneuve, lawyer for the Church of Scientology in France, dismissed any organized fraud, although he acknowledged there could have been individual abuses.

"The discovery of a pedophile priest does not allow us to question the entire Catholic Church," he was quoted as saying in the weekly L'Express magazine ahead of the trial opening.

The Los Angeles-based Church of Scientology, founded in 1954 by the late science fiction writer L. Ron Hubbard, has been active for decades in Europe but has struggled to gain status as a religion. The U.S. State Department has criticized Belgium, Germany and other European countries for labelling Scientology a cult or sect and enacting laws to restrict its operations.

A guilty verdict in the current French trial could shut down the group's activities in France.

The investigating judge also questioned the validity of an "electrometer" sold to members for 4,800 euros (about C$7,500) and used to measure variations in their mental state. The judge, in the indictment, called it "an illusion aimed at giving a scientific sense to an operation that has nothing of the kind."

Unusually, the Paris prosecutor's office had recommended the charges be dropped, but the court agreed to take up the case.

In 2002, a French court fined the Paris regional branch of the church for a data protection violation but acquitted it of attempted fraud and judges refused to disband it.

The Church of Scientology teaches that technology can expand the mind and help solve problems. It claims 10 million members around the world, including celebrity devotees Tom Cruise and John Travolta.

Scientology
I will offer the following statement.  I am completely ignorant as to what Scientology is.  What I do know involves moronic celebrities and science fiction type elements.  I've also heard of L. Ron Hubbard, who is the founder of the following.  That is as much as I knew going into last weekend, when I was in Ocean State Job Lot with Lindsay getting some last minute gifts.  In the book section, I saw some novels by L. Ron Hubbard.  Well one novel really.  A science fiction novel.  In his list of other works, I saw various other science fiction novels.  The flap proclaimed him as one of the most successful and influential science fiction writers of all time.

He makes his living writing science fiction.  He founds a religion centrally themed around science fiction.  It took me two seconds to deduce that Scientology is nothing more than a very large work of science fiction.  A quick reading on wikipedia and you can see quotes from contemporaries stating how Hubbard created this ploy for monetary gain.  Is everything you read true?  No.  But given that it is quite obvious without those quotes, and a cursory check on the matter reveals them says something significant.

I think someone needs to tell this to Tom Cruise, because I hear Katie Holmes is soon to be the vessel for Hubbard's cryogenic frozen sperm.  It's mind numbing watching out of touch celebrities with obscene wealth expounding the virtues of that faith.  Old women with 8 cats eating cheeto's all day?  I expect this from.  Middle aged men who read comic's all day and watch star wars all night as well.  I Shouldn't be surprised though.  Nearly every celebrity put on a pedestal by the masses is undeserving, minus a small minority.  Unfortunately, there are even more members of the Church of Celebritology than there are Scientology.

Hilarious
In Scientology doctrine, Xenu is a galactic ruler who, 75 million years ago, brought billions of people to Earth, stacked them around volcanoes and blew them up with hydrogen bombs. LOL!

WARNING: SCIENTOLOGY IS NOT A RELIGEON> IT IS A DANGEROUS CULT
Posts from around.

The Toronto District School Board, City Hall, and Toronto Police have established a joint task force to thwart Scientology’s efforts to recruit children of all ages to their religious cult.

What Scientology has done:
Aggressively recruited outside of Elementary, Middle and High schools.
Assaulted children who spoke out against them, and made bogus reports claiming the opposite.
Taken “Donations” from children as young as 11 years of age.
Know to say “We can solve all your problems”, “School and family are not the answer, you need us” and “Scientology can save you”.

What is Scientology?
Scientology is a religious cult that encourages their members to donate their life savings to the “church”.
Scientology has a practice of telling new members to cut off all communication with family and friends.
Scientologists worship alien gods and believe in reincarnation. They have a practice called “auditing” whereby a person divulges all their secrets to the auditor, the auditor then keeps these secrets on file for purposes of Blackmail.

Another place

11/2/08 BBC:
"In a video statement broadcast online, the organisers said: "The idea of Anonymous is to systematically dismantle the Church of Scientology in its present form."

They said they were campaigning against "toxic ideals" and a "corrupt leadership", not the beliefs of members."

This is the sort of publicity we require if we are to be successful. With reports like that we are much less likely to be considered bigots.

Good work everyone that participated on Sunday!

SCIENTOLOGY IS A CULT

Their higher members are terrified of people investigating them.

They spied on the BBC

People are harassed and killed by scientology.

It needs to stop.

They want to infiltrate all levels of our society as they have done in America.

Please can I make a very serious point to critics of this group who are from/not from scientology. You are very welcome, but please can you bare this in mind:

QUOTE from Sean Coles wall post

We are not against the beliefs of Scientology, we are against the actions that are taken by them.

What Christianity, Islam, or whomever did in the distant past is of no relevance. Just because groups of people got away with injustices of the past doesn't mean that a current group should be allowed to get away with it in the present. The things they do are wrong and those wrongdoings should be put into the spotlight.

This movement is more about awareness than anything else. Anonymous knows that it cannot do anything on its own. The best that we can do, at present time, is to increase awareness. With more awareness comes more support. With more support comes a chance to right the wrongdoings.

I will get in a lot of trouble for posting this. Evidently they are getting dangerous.

DIE YOU ALIEN SCUM

I was confused for quite sometime about this scientology crap. Well, maybe not confused cuz I really don't give a shit about it, it has no bearing on my life what so ever. BUT, I din't know what it was what they believed etc. I half ass watched that Tom Cruise thing, he's wack job for sure, he still didn't explain anything other than he's a wack job, then that Jerry O'Connell piece came out, I watched it, it was cute. I remember when I was young my dad read that "Dianetics" book, he didn't seem to think much of it, he loved story s about space and aliens and what not, but I never associated the two.

So, I the other day I didn't have anything better to do and I kept seeing "latest comments" from revcathian's blog about the whole thing but I couldn't get the links to work or whatever. So I googled it. Then I laughed for about 30 minutes. I might not have ended up where "they" would have liked me to, in order to learn what this crap is all about but I think I now have a really good idea. So here's what I found, I hope I got all the links right.

What exactly do Scientologists believe? Here is the answer.

Notice: Mr. Tom Cruise is an "Operating Thetan Level Six," which means he has paid for, and been indoctrinated with, the Scientology "science" that tells all about how humanity's every problem derives from the spirits of murdered space aliens. When he denied it in June of 2005, HE WAS LYING.

Operating Thetan levels 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 are all to do with getting rid of "body thetans". These body thetans are the souls of dead space aliens murdered by Xenu, 75 million years ago.

Scientologists believe that 75 million years ago an evil galactic ruler, named Xenu, solved overpopulation by bringing trillions of people to Earth in DC-8 space planes, stacking them around volcanoes and nuking them. Then the souls of these dead space aliens were captured and boxed up and taken to cinemas where they were shown films of what life should be like, false ideas containing God, the devil and Christ and told to get ill.

After that they supposedly clustered together and now inhabit our bodies. Scientologists believe that if they rid themselves of these body thetans then they will be healthier and will gain special powers like mind-over-matter.

Some Scientologists spend $360,000 for all this. None of them gain any special powers except the power to delude themselves.

Who is Xemu?
I'm going to tell you a story. Are you sitting comfortably? Right, then I'll begin.

Once upon a time (75 million years ago to be more precise) there was an alien galactic ruler named Xemu. Xemu was in charge of all the planets in this part of the galaxy including our own planet Earth, except in those days it was called Teegeeack.

Now Xemu had a problem. All of the 76 planets he controlled were over-populated. Each planet had on average 178 billion people. He wanted to get rid of all the overpopulation so he had a plan.

Xemu took over complete control with the help of renegades to defeat the good people and the Loyal Officers. Then with the help of psychiatrists he called in billions of people for income tax inspections where they were instead given injections of alcohol and glycol mixed to paralyse them. Then they were put into space planes that looked exactly like DC8s (except they had rocket motors instead of propellers).

These DC8 space planes then flew to planet Earth where the paralysed people were stacked around the bases of volcanoes in their hundreds of billions. When they had finished stacking them around then H-bombs were lowered into the volcanoes. Xemu then detonated all the H-bombs at the same time and everyone was killed.

The story doesn't end there though. Since everyone has a soul (called a "thetan" in this story) then you have to trick souls into not coming back again. So while the hundreds of billions of souls were being blown around by the nuclear winds he had special electronic traps that caught all the souls in electronic beams (the electronic beams were sticky like fly-paper).

After he had captured all these souls he had them packed into boxes and taken to a few huge cinemas. There all the souls had to spend days watching special 3D motion pictures that told them what life should be like and many confusing things. In this film they were shown false pictures and told they were God, The Devil and Christ. In the story this process is called "implanting".

When the films ended and the souls left the cinema these souls started to stick together because since they had all seen the same film they thought they were the same people. They clustered in groups of a few thousand. Now because there were only a few living bodies left they stayed as clusters and inhabited these bodies.

As for Xemu, the Loyal Officers finally overthrew him and they locked him away in a mountain on one of the planets. He is kept in by a force-field powered by an eternal battery and Xemu is still alive today.

That is the end of the story. And so today everyone is full of these clusters of souls called "body thetans". And if we are to be a free soul then we have to remove all these "body thetans" and pay lots of money to do so. And the only reason people believe in God and Christ was because it was in the film their body thetans saw 75 million years ago.

Well what did you think of that story?

What? You thought it was a stupid story?

Well so do we. Unfortunately this stupid story is the core belief in the "religion" known as Scientology.* If people knew about this story then most people would never get involved in it. This story is told to you when you reach one of their secret levels called OT III. After that you are supposed to telepathically communicate with these body thetans to make them go away. You have to pay a lot of money to get to this level and do this (or you have to work very hard for the organisation on extremely low pay for many years).

We are telling you this story as a warning. If you become involved with Scientology then we would like you to do so with your eyes open and fully aware of the sort of material it contains.

Most of the Scientologists that work in their Dianetics* centres and so called "Churches" of Scientology do not know this story since they are not allowed to hear it until they reach the secret "upper" levels of Scientology. It may take them many years before they reach this level if they ever do. The ones who do know it are forced to keep it a secret and not tell it to those people who are joining Scientology.

Now you have read this you know their big secret. Don't let us put you off joining though.

I have the xemu leaflets webbed, both in Swedish and English.

They are in HTML format at the following URL's. Don't forget to read the core belief of this nutty UFO-cult. It's for free, and may very well save you $360,000 or more. If used properly, they may save your friends and family from falling into the trap of this nutty UFO-cult too. Heck, they may even save your community if you decide to use them in a picket.
