School Cancelled @ MindSay 
Welp, Humberto upgraded to a CAT 1 Hurricane and sailed right past us. We dodged another bullet. I can't say the same for my husband's folks in Port Arthur, TX and Beaumont. They got hit pretty hard. His nephew called me this morning and told us they still don't have power, but he's glad he doesn't have school. I told him I was glad my school was cancelled until noon. That means I don't have to go to my first class. Yippee!
Anyway, I'd like to thank you guys who had us in your thoughts and prayers. *We have three weeks of Hurricane Season left. Let's hope its relatively quiet.
*Crap! According to Sandyquill Hurricane Season now ends on November 30th. That sucks because its been a hot summer which usually means the Gulf of Mexico has warmer water and areas of low pressure. The perfect recipe for large storms.

If I were a student I would have rallied other students over the weekend & had ourselves a "walk-out" this morning & all went & sat in the parking lots for the day. Give'um a dose of their own medicine
I knew I should have just enrolled Lauren in cyberschool - she really wanted to do it but then changed her mind when her friends convienced her to go back there instead so they could go on the school field trip....which incedently is now being cancelled, along with the pictures they were supposed to get taken tomarrow, and open house which was supposed to be this week, not to mention the education that is going to have to start all over again when they finally decide to go back to school again. in addition, the kids were supposed to have several breaks for different things that will now be spent in school in addition to going to school for half of their summer vacation....fuck this - we are moving out of here & getting into a school district that has teachers who want to teach & who actually give a crap about their students.
This school & their stupid ass teachers (most of them) are a fucking joke - not that I didn't foresee this coming

It's been a while...where to start? I don't know, either...I've been hit in the head so many times this past week( both by flag and by the 5th bass player's mallet...I love when freshmen boys grovel for forgiveness), plus i'm suffering from blood loss from clenching my fists so tight that I break the skin. Why?-you may ask. Well, it just so happens that by some twisted humor of fate one orange(and fake, at that) haired, not slight of frame(if you get my meaning..if not, i mean she's kinda fat), and rather fashion impaired (and by rather, i mean extremely) size-too-small-spandex wearing mother of a trumpet player has decided to lord over the girls of one very frustrated color guard. The result? 12 pissed off and annoyed guard girls...not to mention one potentially homicidal captain (i.e.- me). *Breath in through the nose, out through the mouth....in the nose, out the mouth*
Okay, I'm back. Sorry, but my eye started twitching from stress. So, basically this woman keeps telling us (the guard) how to do our routine and telling me everything I'm doing wrong as captain. But, what is this? She has no idea wtf she's talking about?? Imagine that! Who woulda thunk?.......grrrrrrrr.........I'll stop this tirade here, for I am sure there's going to be a showdown, soon.
Oh, wait!! We have our first marching competition in a week and a day.....*insert eye twitching here*. The few girls that are doing the rifle feature (including me) are learning it this week...the week of....*twitch*...and NOW (as if we weren't pushed for time already) school has been cancelled Monday and Tuesday. Don't believe me? Well, it's true. The Governor of Georgia has requested that all schools be closed on Mon. & Tues. and all un-neccessary fuel use should be cancelled in an effort to conserve fuel in response to and in preperation of the troubles in the Gulf Coast. Band practices are on those days...are they cancelled, too?!?! THEY CAN'T BE! SAY IT ISN'T SO!!!!!! *twitch*. I'll update about it later, when I find out. For now, due to the uncontrollable twitching resulting from extreme amounts of stress, I will end this excerpt of my life with some advice that might help you avoid the troubles I am forced to encounter.
