if roodi asks for money do not send it. it is a very old but obviously not yet dead approach to getting your dough. make friends. have a crisis, ask for cash and bango. just be careful. I thought he was for real too. it's sad isn't it?

Yes, and now all over my blog he is writing that I am my words lie. Something to that effect. Very angry, of course. It's very upsetting, besides being sad. I've deleted my posts from Caluna in my blog mentioning they would sponsor him. And now on my way over to delete the entire entry. We can open our hearts and give our time (which is our most precious commodity and it hurts). I believe there's more to this than any of us can understand.
I've done much research this past week. I'm not an expert by any means, but I have been advised that there is NO one OUTSIDE of Iran that can help anyone inside Iran, at this time, get a visa. Any assistance an Iranian receives must be done INSIDE Iran. First, there are no visas issued by Iranian government to someone off the street there. An Iranian must get to Turkey first and that NOW is next to impossible! There are thousands of Iranians that would like to get to Turkey to get visas elsewhere and are unable to. IF, and I emphasize IF assistance is provided it must come FROM WITHIN Iran. There are groups there that attempt to assist others but their resources have dwindled. That's basically the bottom line. So if you are contacted, that is the message you must get across, legitimate person or not, there is nothing any one of us could do anyway.

So what is this all based on? Where was he asking for money and why?
he was asking for money he also asked for a credit card so he could leave turkey. and he has an accomplice who uses clearer english to ask for these things on roo's behalf. this is clearly a scam because when questionoed he gets a new user name and starts harassing users and attempting to flood their blogs with name calling.
I am not taking up any more space on this issue, taking advantage of other people's care and worry is really nasty and shameful behavior.

So no money was ever taken, after 8 months in the community the only time Roody asked for money was after the person in question OFFERED to help to my understanding, and is also guilty of "attacking" someone on their blog for no reason after they had posted an entirely unrelated blog accusing him of being a scam artist.
Maybe it's just me, but before we brand him as a criminal and scammer, shouldn't we at least have ONE fucking example of his ever having done this?
Oh, come on, this is America. Guilty until proven innocent*, and you know it!

Thank you so much gunman. I did not want to believe this. Caluna and I cared and were concerned, spending our own personal time in attempting to assist him. At first I was embarrassed for being duped. Yet, Knowledge is power folks, and we need to verify our sources. There's nothing wrong with opening our hearts... it makes us vulnerable... but I've learned a lesson here. Once I observed a change in behavior... I was so naive still, not wanting to believe it was him but that maybe someone had access to his email/blog... I just didn't want to believe something like this was from someone I had befriended. Friendship is a treasure and wanted to continue to defend him, suggesting to others it could be someone else and that he might be in danger. A friend of mind in my community suggesting verifying the origins of my emails from him as well & I had just sent the ones I received today and a few older ones...my suspicions are confirmed. And now with your findings... bravo gunman!

I would urge redwoodpecker with his more extensive knowledge to "light a fire" on this matter. Keeping such a matter confined to only a few people limits the impact and attention this deserves. Roodi, I agree with onewalrus! This appears to be a good proxy and more than likely you are in Iran. And I do have a telephone number locating you there. If that is true, I was wrong, and apologize. Understand Roodi, internet communications is such that many people intentionally misrepresent themselves, making it difficult to trust what you read.
Anyone reading this letter shows a person who just wants to live. There are many of you ... that just want to live. The US will invade Iran in time. Your government will arrest dissidents who they see as a threat, or those like you attempting to leave.
I agree that you might consider a different approach than what you are using, Roodi. Mindsay members could work together to compel our Senators, Congressman, Presidential candidates, television networks, lighting a fire under them ~ and making your situation a public matter. The only danger is that you, ‘roodi’, would have to expose your true identity ultimately. I have it. but it is sacred between friends, and only you would determine if that is something you would be willing to do. The members, if willing to do all of this, may be amazed by the power of several calls, letters to Congresspersons or Senator can have. Our government must know what type of impact its actions would have/are having... that many are going to prison and being hurt.
