Well, I have just been laying around today. I watched the movie with Marilyn Monroe and Clark Gable tonight on TMC, the Misfits. It was okay, but not great. I really should watch all of the classic westerns that are out there. I have hardly watched any John Wayne, and hardly any Clint Eastwood westerns. It will be a matter of actually watching them, probably when I get old and retired.
Well, I'm going to call a bunch of schools for applications on Monday. I'm even going to apply around Cameron, where I used to live. There are four schools within 20 miles of it. I would live in the towns south of there, but would actually live in Cameron for the two north of them. Of course, there is one 40 miles north of Sedalia, one 40 miles south of here, and one about fifteen miles from Boonville, about 45 miles from here. It is just a matter of getting them out there. If worse comes to worse, I can always substitute teach next year, but I gotta get out of this town.
Well, not a whole lot has been happening. I had the trailer to myself today. She is going to leave me a coffee maker, a microwave, and a bed and chest of drawers in her bedroom. I slept in a real bed, instead of a mattress on the floor for the first time in I don't know how long today.
Well, tata for now, Dougie Fresh
Lesa and I went to the Celebration church, a blue jean Methodist church that meets on Saturday nights. The preacher used the example of the two wolves, the one that holds all the bad things you do, and the other one that is all the good things you do, with the one who survives is the one you feed. I had heard it before in a sermon, so it was kind of second had to me, but Lesa hadn't heard it, and remarked about it when we went home.
After church we went over to Caron's pool hall, about a quarter a mile away from the church. I had the usual Diet Pepsi, and she had a cream and Kahlua. Then we came home and watched Breach, one of the movies that I bought at the video store. Anyway, I figure when I move, I can get on Netflix, and get six movies a week. We watched bullriding, which meant she watched it, while I caught up on my reading of the new Time that came in the mail today. It is exciting to her, although I think if you've seen one, you've seen them all. She doesn't understand my attraction to football, either. At least we can agree on Nascar, which starts tomorrow with the Daytona 500.
Right now John Fogerty is on PBS. He is promoting his new album, which I bought the day it came out. I went for the Bruce Springsteen CD to the local KMart, and picked it up too. Both of them are okay, although I liked Fogerty's more. About 60% of his set is old Creedence songs, but I don't mind. He can still rock out.
Well, I made hamburger helper for lunch, and she liked it. We had sandwiches (her) and leftovers (me) for supper. She says she can't really cook, and I do all right for a guy, so I don't mind. My stepfather did all of the cooking for my mom and youngest sister when they were both alive. When ever he would go in the hospital from time to time, we feigned repulsion at my mom's cooking, although it was good enough for us kids growing up.
I had a female roommate last winter, but all she did was sit at the computer, or went to her room. Plus, she was dating another female, so we didn't talk a whole lot, but Lesa is fun to be around. You would just have to meet her to know. She loves to talk as much as I like to listen.
Well, Fogerty is almost over. Tata for now, Dougie Fresh
I went over to my sister's house today, and she said, would you be interested in renting a house. Anyway, there is a three bedroom HOUSE in Caron's trailer court she manages. It has three bedrooms, and it is vacant, and it rents for $475 a month. I have two roommates that need a place to live, so it would be a lot more affordable.
This means that I can tear up all of the applications I have gotten from the school districts that I have received. I can substitute teach, and work at the local theater about four nights a week. I think I said in my last blog, or was it one of my emails to one of my Mindsay "friends", that the theater is open days when the school is closed, and vice versa. That means, I can work about 20 hours a week at a really pleasant job.
I have also started a new diet. I am finally taking my fatburner and hoodia pills on a regular basis. I am also eating a whole grapefruit, sprinkled with Splenda, before each meal. Plus, I resolve to start exercising. I will get a really good bicycle, even if I have to pay extra, and get a good used bicycle at Cecil's, the Schwinn dealer downtown. I resolve for once in my life to get into really good shape. My hips have already started slimming down, but my belly is as large as it ever was.
Well, the Packers won in the Snowbowl against the Seahawks. The Patriots are playing the Jaguars right now, but there is a Martina McBride concert on Pbs right now. I don't watch a whole lot of PBS, but I do watch the music shows, and Nightly Business Report, Tavis Smiley, and Charlie Rose, if they have interesting topics.

Well, it is Saturday night, and I literally haven't had my pants on in over 24 hours. I haven't left the house since Friday morning when I left Darryl's.
Well, the quarterback from Missouri finished fourth in the balloting, but is the first guy in over 50 years from MU to be up on the podium. Of course, Missouri lost to Oklahoma, so they are going to the Cotton Bowl in Dallas on January first. Well, I am just turning the cable channels looking for something to watch. My truck is still in the driveway where it has been since Wednesday night. I'm hoping to fix it will be under $100. I think it is the starter, but Darryl said it might be the sulenoid (sp)?, or the battery, or some kind of short. But Kevin will fix it cheap. Plus, I am going to have him change my front two headlights, one bulb is out on brights, so I've been running on dims since the fall.
Well, I hope everybody is doing okay. I am just concentrating on not spending a lot of money at this time. I will probably find a good part-time job after Christmas, plus substituting. Gary, my friend from KC, said for me to take my test for $75 to become a special ed teacher. He said that by being certified in both math and special ed, I might be able to be a math specialist in a medium sized city's special ed department. It would be a good investment.
Well, sports is almost on on the 10:00 news. Tata for now, Dougie Fresh
