The great news is that I got a call today for a third interview! Yes, a third interview to meet the President of the Chapter. Which means I had to go buy yet another suit. Because I've turned into such a plump muffin and all my clothes are now too small, I only had one to start that I've worn to ALL my interviews. So last week when they called me to come in again, I had to go buy another one -- fortunately Dillard's was having a sale and I got an awesome gray suit for $55!! So then I get the call this morning to go back tomorrow one more time. Between the people dropping in and out of these my two suits have been seen, and I only seem to be going up the org chart...so off I went again. Once again, my friends at Dillard's did me right. I went malling with a friend of mine last night and saw that Dillard's was doing 40% off the lowest sale price today. I got a fabu Tahari skirt suit for $60 (regularly $200) and another really nice work outfit for about the same so I had to have it because if I get the job I'll only have to go buy some more clothes. THEN I had to hit Target cuz when I got home last night I smelled it... My place smells like a giant litterbox. And I don't remember it ever being that bad so I think the scoopable litter finally turned. I had to work out a new system and buy more supplies and an air filter. $30 more. But I'm honestly not spending money on things I don't need. It just seems that lately I need everything. *Sigh* Tomorrow or Friday I need to go buy groceries. I'm getting palpitations.
So I better get this job cuz I need to pay for all these clothes -- $200 in one week, but I did get two suits and an outfit that qualifies as almost a suit. And short (and fat) as I am, when I find great buys that fit I have to go for it. Yeah, yeah, I know I'm rationalizing, but I seriously didn't see a choice.
I have to believe this is almost in the bag. But it's not IN the bag, so please don't let me screw it up. If it goes well, I hope to have this all wrapped up soon.
Considering we didn't advertise we did ok. The best thing we had going for us was living off the main highway between the two main towns. So we caught traffic from both directions with bright signs and balloons. It never got overwhelming as it can sometimes, but it stayed steady for the most part.
BUT folks are not so quick to part with their money these days ..... and I can't say that I blame them. We made just under 100.00 ..... which I'm totally happy with. And will leave signs and stuff out tomorrow for a little while anyway. Definitely less to put away ..... and that ..... is a major good thing.
***Yawns***
What wears me out the most with these things is the socializing. You see people you only see once a year ..... usually on this day ..... so its all about catching up on what "you've been up to". Even those folk you'd just rather not see, that you avoid at all costs ..... now having you held captive on your own property. With nowhere to run, nowhere to hide. I'm caught up on the aches and pains, surgeries, grandkids, great-grandkids, graduates, christenings, deaths and births of just about everyone in the valley. I know who "makes those hats" ..... and "beads" ..... I know who's gardens are growing. I know people would "love to have that old wood cook stove" and other things not for sale. I know at least one person who offered to "buy that dog." That dog being Joe. I also know that I finally sold a tea set I have been wanting to sell at many yard sales now, just to pack it up all nice ..... and notice an hour later .... a cup ..... from the set ..... sitting on the table .... pretty as can be ..... all by itself. Damn. Shit. Grrrr ...... ! I know our last customer just left ..... a few minutes ago ..... with a Corona button he gave Dave a quarter for. I had meant to throw that button in the FREE box. **sigh**
And finally I know that I need to get my feet up ..... and my head down ..... and my eyes closed. And more than likely sleep will come easier than last night. Moms gone and I'm to flipping tired to do anything about it ..... meaning this girl is too pooped to partaaaaay ......

I hear Dave coming in from putting the chickens to bed ..... so I'll stop here. More fun tomorrow, although I expect nothing ..... we shall see.
