Resable asked me about a book I was reading and the woman who worte said book is a mystic. So when I looked up the daily Bible verse from www.upperroom.org and saw this test I just knew I had to take it and post the results with the link! Happy Monday!

Bloody hell wanker!
How I long for the good old days. I refer to the days when most people didn't know how to read or write. In those days the educated were the only ones privy to knowledge. The plebians had no right to it, or use for it. That was a good thing. A little knowledge is a dangerous thing.
Now here we are today. Most everyone knows how to read and write. Ask anyone you know if they know how to read and write. They will certainly answer "yes". Then ask the follow-up question: "What do you read and write?" There's the rub. That's the thing that makes me pine for long ago.
With all the "sharing of information" and "knowledge" this tool called the internet professes to provide, where are the fruits of it? I challenge anyone reading this to point me to three links out of the hundreds of millions which illustrate some fruit of the internet.
It's a "you reap what you sow" digital miasma. Consider the top-ten Google searches for this week:
1. antonella barba
2. american idol
3. oscars
4. helen mirren
5. jennifer hudson
6. giant squid
7. al gore
8. national weather service
9. babel
10. Leelee Sobieski
Now there's a knowledge base for you! Oh, I'm sorry... you're not reading anymore are you? No, you're too busy watching the idiot box or investigating the depths of American Idol. Meanwhile students in India and China graduate high-school fluent in at least three spoken languages, three computer languages and Calculus. Can you spell s t u p i d i t y?
And it all boils down to the tragic mistake of perpetuating the myth that everyone deserves the right to read and write. Poppycock! If it's so damn benificial, then why is the educational system broken? HELLO! Giant Squids and Leelee Sobieski.
Why is everyone so preoccupied with regurgitating the same subject matter over and over? I ask that of all you educated "readers" and "writers" out there.

Howdy Howdy all!
One of my Best friends will be here in November for a visit and I am very very excited to see Him again. He did a tour of duty in Afghanistan and then another in an undisclosed location in the Middle East. He is back in the states for a bit and is making a special trip to visit yours truly...aint that sweet! Just when I was thinking that I needed somebody to say something or do something nice to/for me. You know how sometimes you just need attention that you can't come out and ASK for.... and then--- BAM a blessing from the Goddess-to whom I give thanks.
I can't wait to see you Sarge!
Well the weekend is over and it is back to school on the morrow. Learning Latin is a lot easier than I thought. Anyway...I have just completed a purging ritual and whew do I feel a lot better. I have recently put some issues behind me Never to be visited again and I am more focused than ever on my myriad of goals. Sunday was a great day for this and here is how you might wanna do your own purging ritual in order to exorcise some demons as well as cleanse the body...Before the ritual right down some goals you want to achieve some feelings you want to work through...You will need a sage bundle and a source of fire to light it, a white candle and sage essential oil for annointing it (the candle).
Wake up naturally (No alarm clock)
See to your morning needs (face, teeth, shower )
Down a Large Glass of water with lemon (you should be able to taste the lemon well)
Light Sage bundle(some may light Patchouli if they like) set in fire proof dish (a mini cauldron works well)
Make a smudge on your candle with the oil and light the candle.
In solitude and silence sit quietly with your thoughts on those issues that plague you(you can read directly from your list).
Take deep breaths (inhale for a count of 4 and exhale for a count of 4).
Sit as long or short as you like and after you reach the natural end of your meditation burn the list (safely of course).
for the next three nights light the candle and meditate for a while on your list of issues to banish. Try to take a moment daily to think of ways that you can transcend the issues that plague your existence. Put one into effect each week and note any improvements in a weekly journal (I say weekly because daily is just too time consuming for many of us).
Well that is all for now. I would like to announce that I will return to my old format to a large degree. I will be concentrating on all things Pagan-herbal and once again vegetarian (including fish though) eating. Some notes on sustainable living and environmental issues and volunteer activities.
The reason for this is that I have been focusing on things that have not/will not be fruitful. It has come to my attention (I had a rather vivid dream actually) that I have been focusing on things so far outside of the way I want to live and so far away from my longterm goals that although I achieved one goal (Grad school) I have been stifled in others and that is unacceptable to me.
Don't worry, I will be Keeping my Retail Rants and the miscellaneous photo/video posts of me and my friends at the Richmond Arms but I am purging the negative and living in the present and future of Environgirl-ville, come on along and join me ya'll there is room for all manner of positive friends and lovers of our beloved MOTHER, Lady Nature!
How about some Poetry...here goes...(Doll...there is always, always, always room for you, of course)
Song
Love thou thy dream
All base love scorning,
Love thou the wind
And here take warning
That dreams alone can truly be,
For 'tis in dream I come to thee. --Ezra Pound

Howdy all, okay, okay, this really is my last post before I leave tomorrow. My bus pulls out at 10:40 am and arrives in Arizona at 11:00 am on Friday. I will be a bit sleep deprived but I have taken longer trips on the bus. I once took a bus from New York to Texas, it took forever but I loved it. I pack pretty light so I don't have to check anything. I take my own vittles so I wont have to buy junk on the way. I Called my mom, I payed all of my bills, posted all of my letters and parcels and watered and kissed all of my plants goodbye. I am totally prepared until something terribly simple comes up that I have not thought of yet.
I shall be back in the Lone Star State on the 12th and back at work on the 14th. Then my LAST semester begins on the 19th! Yep this year is already trying to breeze by. I sometimes wish one of my friends would hit the road with me once in a while. Maybe I should take applications and set-up a screening process to interview potential travel mates. LOL! What might one ask on the application I wonder. What would you put on such an application? Oh well, maybe for the next trip, but for now, how about a sachet for safe travel.
1 sage bundle
matches
1 white candle
Wash hands thoroughly and then assemble the following
3parts dill seed
2 parts Caraway seed
1 part Flax seed
1 pinch sea salt
(the above ingrediants can be in the quantities that you like depending on the size of the sachet you want.)
Tie all up in a white cloth.
Sit in a clean comfortable place(bring sachet with you),light the white candle and look at the flame, meditate on your journey, picture it going smoothly and comfortably (sit as long as you like), when you are done meditating, light the sage bundle and let the smoke wash over you and the sachet still thinking of your safe and fun-filled journey. thoroughly put out the candle and sage and keep your sachet on your person for the duration of the trip. Now for the poetry...here goes....
22
I gave myself to him,
And took himself for pay.
The solemn contract of a life
Was ratified this way
The value might disappoint,
Myself a poorer prove
Than this my purchaser suspect,
The daily own of Love
Depreciates the sight;
But, 'til the merchant buy,
Still fabled, in the isles of spice
The subtle cargoes lie.
At least, 'tis mutual risk,—
Some found it mutual gain;
Sweet debt of Life,—each night to owe,
Insolvent, every noon.--Emily Dickinson
See ya'll later...

When I got back it was time to start the casseroles. I taught Steve how to make green bean casserole (which turned out to one of the favorite dishes, lol). Then Nicole started the corn casserole and peach cobbler. And then... the turkey! It was a task for both of us - we figured if we can cook a good turkey then we've made it because it's, like, the ultimate test of cooking skills, lol.
... I know the suspense is killing you all, isn't it? You want to know how me and Nicole's turkey turned out. Well, here's a response:

It's dancing in joy because it knows it's in good hands!! Right before the English turkey was stuffed with English apples and onions and Israeli tarragon and covered in Irish butter. :P
As you can tell by my giddiness - the turkey was fantastic! It was a hit and me and Nicole are on cloud nine and can't wait to tell our mothers, lol.
Here's the whole dinner party:

Going counter-clockwise started with me (the fat girl up front right) is Me, Adam, Simon (a sudden appearance! but it's all good :) lol), Steve, Aaron, Sally, Maddy, Nicole, Lena, Martyna, Neil (who ended up forgetting the cranberry sauce!), Bryan, Nigel and Matt. Dan and Tom couldn't make it :( But it was still an excellent Thanksgiving.
OH! Before I forget, we also did something that every American knows how to do and learned in elementary school... HAND TURKEYS! Here is Leroy and the hand turkeys (notice the smallest hand? that's Leroy's, lol):

And then after all the washing up was done (which, with about 8 people helping out went really, really fast), me, Sally, Steve, Maddy, Adam and Neil played a few games of Uno while Aaron played guitar for us, lol.
All in all, it was the BEST Thanksgiving ever! And my first English Thanksgiving, and the first Thanksgiving for all of the English that came! It was the best, EVER. God, I'm just so incredible happy right now :) :)
