We have family here now and we also have a guest. He is a co-worker of Leif's and he is far from home in Jordan.
Im thankful for alot. :D
I seem to hear the phrase "won't have time" a lot lately. True, these past couple of days have been very full, but I dislike it as an automatic responce, given without real thought to the situation. I've always been a fairly laid-back kind of person. I do not stress over time, thinking that a few minutes of being late will not kill anyone, so there's not use in stressing about it. This attitude has occationally caused my friends stress because I am often running late for events. Because of that, I have wished to be more careful about time, but I do not rush. Rushing causes things to be forgotten, crucial items to be misplaced. For trips I prefer to be well packed in advance, so I can repack and recheck everything at my leisure. Rushing makes me feel like I've left something behind, even when I haven't.
Saying that there isn't time for something means that there is no room for negotiating, no compromising. Nothing can be curtailed, shortened, delayed, or resceduled. Sometimes this is very true, but not always. I just hate hearing it as an automatic responce, repeated over and over...
I try not to be a high stress person, and I think for the most part it's worked. I can be very emotional, and I take minor cuts, set downs, and thrown away phrases to heart because I am also very literal. When someone says something, they must mean it, because I almost always mean what I say. Over used vocabulary, like idiot, stupid, or moron caries a deep sting, even if there is little force behind the actual words. Mostly, I do not hold onto things, so these little hurts slide away to be forgotten. But they will hurt again next time. So does rejection, which does not make the job search any easier. I know it's not personal. It can't be; they don't even know me yet. Although, in this respect, I have improved. Hopefully this improvement will continue.
