KC Sweeps Detroit

The Kansas City Royals have swept a series from the Tigers for the second time this season. Jose Guillen hit his 4th homer of the year and drove in 3 runs in an 8-4 victory. The Royals are now 6-0 against the Tigers this year. They have improved their record to 19-21 and have a season-high 4 game winning streak.

The Royals jumped on the Tigers early with 3 runs in the 1st inning. Billy Butler doubled home 2 runs to start the scoring. Guillen hit a solo shot in the 4th inning which gave KC a 6-1 lead. Gil Meche pitched 7 innings and gave up 3 runs. He earned his 3rd win of the season.

The Royals travel to Florida for a 3-game series with the Marlins this weekend.

Royals Shoutout Orioles

The Kansas City Royals shut down the Baltimore Orioles behind a brilliant pitching performance by Brian Bannister. Bannister pitched 8 innings of shutout ball. He improved his record to 4-4 on the year with the 4-0 KC victory. He walked 2 while striking out 5.

Alex Gordon, Jose Guillen, Billy Butler and Mark Teahen each drove in a run.

The Royals are now 16-21 on the season. They are in 4th place in the AL Central just 3.5 games out of first.

Baseball Season Finally Ends

It's about time!

The Royals' season mercifully comes to an end. It ends with a loss of course. Another season and another last place finish. However, there is some good news. They finished with 69 wins. That's seven more than they had last year. Woo hoo!

I hope the World Series will be worth watching this year. Last year's series was boring as hell.

Royals Split Series With Twins

The Royals ended their series in Minnesota with an 8-1 victory. Brian Bannister picked up his 12th victory of the season for KC. His 12 wins are the most for a KC rookie since 1990 when Kevin Appier also won 12 games. Bannister allowed 6 hits and 1 run in 8 innings.

Alex Gordon hit two solo homers in the game, numbers 13 and 14. John Buck hit a 2-run shot in the 9th inning, his 17th.

David DeJesus drove in two runs with a double.

The Royals tied their season high with 16 hits.

Kansas City will face the Texas Rangers in a three game series starting today.

Royals Shutout Tigers

The Royals scored 5 runs in the first inning and then went scoreless for the rest of the game. Good thing that they were able to keep the Tigers scoreless for the entire game. The Royals used 4 pitchers to shut down the Detroit lineup. Ryan Braun picked up the victory.

Esteban German tripled home a run and Tony Pena Jr. drove in 2 runs.
