Laundry Room update:
Here's the latest pictures! Friday they got the roof wood put on and tar paper. Today, Monday, the shingles go on .
Getting ready to put the roof on.
these next pics show all siding on and the roof wood.
It is going faster than I thought! I am planning the paint scheme now and how to decorate it. that will be my job!
I'm going to go with a light green on the walls, and a light blue on the ceiling. White fluffy clouds will be painted on the ceiling and a white picket fence will be painted all around the room about 3 ft high. Grass clumps, butterflies, and birds near the fence in different areas. Then a clothesline with several pieces of clothing on it blowing and drying in the wind. I can picture it all in my mind, now to graph it out and get my colors picked. Of course it will be awhile before we get to that part, but I want to be ready! LOL. Still a lot to do. Plumber needs to be called out and electrician, as well as the people who will put siding on to match the house and the windows. Will have 4 plugs and 3 lights put in.plus two switches. Plumber has to move water pipes for washer and laundry sink. Drywall will go inside next. My huge walk in closet has to be framed out too.The drywall is what will take time. Ug, I hate doing drywall! That is the slowest part of building anything. I remember all the days and nights of doing the house when we first built it. Slowwwwww going.
Tomorrow I will post the shingles and rest of work done.
my cats think the room is crazy! They are afraid of it when you put them out the door now! Sheba ran around like a wild cat meowing her head off. Purdy ran and hid in the pipe, Milky explored the whole thing, and Baby could care less! They were all different to it!

Unwelcome ...
Well ... I was having a lovely day, thrilled that it was Friday ... until I arrived home. My daughter ran out to meet me and insisted I walk around to the back of the house. She refused to give me any explanation ...
until I saw it. An apparently healthy tree in our backyard, in beautiful sunny weather, fell against the house. I cannot see any significant damage, and hope that the impending rain confirms that observation.
Anyone need some firewood ... cheap?

Laundry /sewing/mudroom addition
YEAH! Finally!
After being married for 27 years and for the past 15 or so years begging for it, I'm getting my Laundry/sewing/mudroom built!!!
I'm so excited! My washer and dryer have always been in my kitchen since we built the house in 1980/81. I have never liked that! Now they will be moved to my new room! We took the existing deck and are turning it into my room. It will be huge! 12'x12'! Lots of room! Sewing machine will go in there, washer, dryer and a new laundry sink! Yeah! And I have a huge walk in closet designed for the room for craft storage and such. 3 windows and a new door with a canopy roof over the doorway entrance. Before our son left for college, James took the deck railing down and sawed off the posts. This past Friday he added wood to the existing deck sides and put the floor down. This past Saturday James went under the deck and built 3 reinforcement walls with block and 4'x6'x16' beams. One on each end and one directly in the middle. Under the deck gets very shallow up near the driveway, so he was under there crawling around on his belly and back all day. I was too, helping whenever he needed it. He looked like a pig by the end of the day! LOL All muddy and nasty!
Then Wednesday, yesterday he framed out the first wall and got it up. Today, he and his brother got the rest of the walls framed out. Tomorrow the roof framework goes up cause Paul can help James tomorrow all day, so James took off from work. I am taking pictures as it goes along. I wish we had done that with our house as it was being built. We built it ourselves back then only getting someone else to do fireplace, wiring and plumbing. We built our house for $22,000 back in 80-81! That in today's numbers would probably be quadrupled! Here's the first picture:sides added and floor down.
This is a picture of the support beams added in. Here's two of them.
Here is the third added support beam.
Should have showed a before picture! LOL It was just a deck with a rail and now all railing is up around my deck off our bedroom. Moved the table, chairs, and umbrella to the very back deck with the grill. James will put a rail up for me around it this Spring so I can hang all my hanging baskets of flowers from it like I did on the upper deck.
This picture shows the deck off our bedroom with the new rail from the old deck!
My whicker chair pictured on the far left was chewed up by my daughter's dog! A Siberian Husky! She is still a puppy and she has shredded a lot of my things! She started chewing the siding off the house so we moved her away from the house now! My chair looks horrible doesn't it?! Bad dog.....
Another picture of our deck from below:
We bought this canopy a couple weeks ago and put it up there. it helps keep it cool and now its my favorite place to snuggle up and read a book.
Here's James adding the framework of the first wall!

I'm so excited!
I just o so love being woke up
Okay so,
After not getting to bed until like
4 this morning, and after my horrible night
last night it slipped my mind that my dad just
up and decided to change the color of the
roof, so I was laying in bed at 8 this morning
and I hear a tap tap tap. Well I thought
that the maid did not answer the door.
I finally yelled will someone answer that
damn door, and the maid came in and told
me that it was the people on the roof.
Well, I have been in a pissy mood
ever since. I hate being woke up, and
now since the people are up on the
roof it does not look like I am going
to be able to go to bed. I hate this.
The stupid roof was only a year old,
hell, the house is only a year old.
God, I just want to go lay out
by the pool with a margarita...
I think I am going to go lay out
minus the margarita because I have
to go to work tonight...
Anyways I will blog tonight at work!!
