ROLL UP, ROLL UP!
Everyone loves Katamari. :P
I took my PS2 along to nana's today. I was hoping they'd stopped being pricks about the whole personal message thing - and it does seem that they have done. Thank fuck for that.
While I was there, nana played Solitaire and I talked to her while I alternated between We Love Katamari, Parappa The Rapper 2 and Guitar Hero II.
I've managed to complete PTR2 on easy and medium difficulties - and I'm up to the last level on hard. It's a pain in the arse though. I hate leading the song, I always cock up my timing beyond what's acceptable.
And with the completion of the last basic Katamari missions - I was able to finally ROLL UP THE SUN.
I actually didn't think I'd manage it, but all seemed to go well - and I watched the sexy credits. I've unlocked some extra levels too. Now I've BEATEN it, I'm going to MASTER it - by getting all the items, presents, cousins and a hell of a lot more speedy comets. :D
When I came home, mam and I watched a few discs of Desparate Housewives and ate Hula Hoops together. We were awake until like 1 in the morning, so I was knackered - thus making it fairly easy for me to get to sleep. :)
I've decided to change my idea of what to get Shelly for her birthday.
I've declined the idea of GH action figures - namely because they've like tripled in price since the last time I looked them up - but I'm not writing my idea here - I don't know if Shelly still reads this from time to time. We can't be having the surprise spoiled, now can we? :P
3-4 Large Skinless Boneless Chicken Breasts
1 Napa Cabbage
1 Bok Choy
2 Large Carrots
2c Bean Sprouts
3 Sliced Green Onions
3 Cloves Garlic (Minced)
3T Chopped Cilantro
1tsp Ground Ginger
1T Crushed Red Peppers
1/4c Vegetable Oil
1/4c Sesame Seed Oil
1/4c Soy Sauce
2 packs eggroll wrappers
Makes Approx 40 eggrolls.
To begin start with a large bowl filled about 1/4 full with cold water to keep your veggies from wilting as you prepare them.
I started with the bok choy.
And then the same with my Napa Cabbage
chopped up the green onion
Shred up some carrots!
oils, ground ginger, crushed red peppers and diced garlic ready to roll :D
Into the skillet they go, very low heat.
Add veggies and 1/4 cup soy sauce!
cook on medium heat for about 15 minutes or until tender, add cilantro remove from heat.
Place chicken in skillet, add 1c of the juices from the veggies
Cook until done, allow sauce to reduce
It's about this time that I realize I forgot the bean sprouts -_-... IN THEY GO!
Allow chicken to cool, dice and mix in with veggies
all ready to go!
Place filling diagonally in the wrapper...
Tuck bottom flap under filling...
moisten side flaps with water and fold over...
moisten top flap and roll over :D
repeat! :P
Some people prefer to deep fry but I like to pan fry them, you can control the heat more this way, cook about 1 minute on each side until they are crispy and golden brown :D Some people like to add a tsp of nutmeg to the oil before frying, but I'm not a fan of that :P do what you like though, thats the best part of cooking!
you can also make a yummy dipping sauce for them by mixing equal parts rice wine vinegar and soy sauce with some minced garlic and crushed red peppers.

it was amazing. indescribably beautiful.
totally winter, totally wonder, totally
slammin'.
we hung out with madison, my mom's
best friend's from highschool daughter...
if that made sense. she was a little shy,
but texas girls get over it! she had a
great time with us, and i can't wait till
we go see them in texas! =]
b. reith played first. pretty awesome,
cute, God-fearing man. never heard
of him before, but he was GREAT. if
tobymac was a crooner, b. reith would
be him.
family force 5. wow. they were, uhmazing.
mazing. it was one of the craziest shows
i've ever seen, but it was amazing! the
synthesizer nadaddy played, the weird
jackets chapstique and fatty had on, the
queer dancing by xanadu, the high
pitched choruses from crouton, and of
course SGA's hulk hands. and i knew
every word of every song. it was all i
had dreamed of and more! because after
the show, i got the inside scoop that ff5
would be signing stuff. heck yess. count
me in! i bought the hulk hands t-shirt and
they signed that, my ticket, AND i got
nadaddy to sign my headband. i told him
i wore it because of him, he was touched.
chapstique had a bandage on his head
and he looked out of it, i'm guessing that
things got a little too crunk during the
finale...
i had to move from row d to row o, just
me, not the girls, before relient k. it was
heart breaking. i stopped to take some
shots of Matty T (my forever love) and
then headed back to the back, a lone.
i was still close, but at first i was heart
broken. and then they started playing
sadie hawkins dance. wow. this may
sound strange, but it was like a spiritual
moment between me and my first love:
Relient K. i came to the show for family
force 5, but Relient K will always be my
favorite. i know every word by heart,
and every song has profound meaning
to me. i almost cried, which is ridiculous,
especially when they were playing chap-
stick, chapped lips, and things like
chemistry... but those who have all-time
favorite bands will know that when you
hear them play LIVE, whether it's the
first time or the hundredth time: the
feeling is always renewed and the joy
comes in ten-fold what you anticipated.
i didn't want to stay for tobymac, but i
did. i found myself unable to leave in the
middle of the last song of his set, which
was weird because i don't even really
like tobymac all that much! well let me
tell you: his show will change your life!
you could tell that he and his crew literally
loved what they did. and when, in the
middle of his set, he gave a brief testimony
and sang "lose my soul," i raised my
hands and the municipal auditorium
transformed from this punkrock concert
to the best worship experience i've
had to date... and it was like that with
some of the other songs too, it wasn't
just hip hop with a message, it was...
truth.
and truth shines brighter than any strobe light.
if you get the chance to see winter wonder
slam, i highly recomend it. it's
uh-may-zing. (may-zing).
Yesterday I played a very short game of football. It was the first time I'd played in years. Apparently the people I played with are going to continue to play and I'm looking to join them.
When I played, although I played well, I felt distinctly out-of-touch and off my game.
So today I started going back to basics and ran through a few drills from my younger days.
Long story short, when practicing step-overs and cross-overs I fell badly and I think I nearly broke my ankle.
I feel stupid!
