Road Work @ MindSay

It's been a while
I know it's been a while, but I've been stuck to the TV watching local news this week.  While at work on Monday, the Levee broke on the man made lake that serves as a major tourist spot taking out 300-400 ft of the road that I travel daily.  The lake emptied.  Due to the vast quantities of rain that our area has had, there is flooding all around and getting to and from work is a major issue for many.  Some have lost their homes.  We just had a wet basement.  and then there is Iowa, makes the flooding in WI look minor.  My prayers go out for all those effected by the floods, and their families.

I live on high ground, however flooding and evacuations happened within a mile of my home, in either direction.

in other news, I've lost another 1 1/2 lbs this week for a total of 16.  I'm more that 25% of the way to my goal.  And only 4 more lbs until I go shopping

"Hard work is often the easy work you did not do at the proper time." - Bernard Meltzer

I wait until the work gets hard, cuz i looooove hard work n i'm a glutton for punishment. I cancelled 2 store credit cards.... on the road to a simpler life going a mph but at least in the right direction lol.  next project: declutter my room.  then invite people over!  you are all welcome of course.

i have a sudden need to chop off all my hair.  why do we women seem to want to do something drastic to our hair when there's change in the air.  maybe it's akin to shedding old skin and wanting to start a new phase.
so the next chapter of my life is titled....."party like it's 1999".  wait, i consider myself a late bloomer but that's ridiculous.  maybe "speak to the universe.  tell it what you want, what you really really want" is a better title.  well, at least i'm in the same century now musically speaking.

better go back to my cleaning.  it won't get done by itself unfortunately.

You Are a Blueberry Margarita
Honestly, there's no one quite like you. And believe it or not, most people think that's a bad thing!
You're open, wild, friendly, wacky, and tons of fun. You have a big personality... and a big heart.
What Flavor Margarita Are You?

ermmm... well maybe a repressed blueberry margarita.  wacky, yes, good?  who knows.

The Furry Tail Clan

Oh man, I have so much to talk about. First off, I'm sorry I haven't made a real post in like three or four days. But, you know, with Easter and all,  plus school and shit I've just failed to find the time to write a worthy entry.

Ok, so my Easter was pretty good, not much to report. I spent Saturday night with my Aunt Rita, Uncle Ray, and cousin Terese (by the way I have like thirty cousins on my father's side of the family, wow that's alot). We went to the Easter Vigil mass at our church, It's always funny that every year the priests alwatys give the same recycled homily (my church is named Church of the Ressurection Roman Catholic Church, so they always talk about the name and Easter). After mass we went to to Aunt Rita's for coffee and goodies (all homemade by the way).

Sunday, I had dinner at my folks. My mom prepared an awesome dinner. I love her sweet potatoes, yumm :P.I was able to do a load of laundry while I was there. I even took home a good sized helping of  left over ham. My father, as ussual was a grumpy old man. Also, I'm convinced my mom's dog is totally crazy.

Ok, now for some bad news. Unfortunately, I won't be working at the shoe store for a couple months due to road construction being done right in front of the strore. This will most likely severely harm our bussiness for the next few months. My father has made up signs to put up all over downtown to let people know where he is. He is also thinking of taking out some more ads either on TV or in the newspaper (he does most of his ads in small numbers on the radio). Hopefully it all will help. Heck, we've been through it before but it still will hurt us for a while. Personally, this means I am going to be even more broke then I already am. :(. Man, this sucks, stupid construction seson.

But finally, I am just going to end this on a happy note with a random movie suggestion. I am so in love with the hilarious kids move Open Season. The Scotish squirrels alone are worth it. It's funny as hell and it's one of those kids movies that you can watch without wanting to pluck your eyes out. Oh yeah and did I mention the Scotish squirrels? You know, really have a soft spot for funy talking animals. Is that wrong?

Thanks,

Mark
