Well I have been biting my tongue out of respect to my dad over a lot of things even though we do "dicuss" things. But remember when I said some folks are going to come down off their pedestals a while back? Well the first casuality is my sister.
I told her how my therapy appointment went and she totally agreed and said what featherdawn said! And then we went on about how her weekend went and how her work is going. Little back ground from here. My moms is an RN and my sister is an RN with a BS in Biology and Minor in Chemestry. I worked as a CNA for 5 years. My sister and I both have worked nursing homes and my mom has only ever worked Hospital settings. Now my sister is a floor nurse at one of the major county hospitals for her area after getting out of ER after 10 years.
Okay we got to talkign about how eventually in my dottering old age I will be like our father and end up in constant pain and in a wheel chair. My dad isn't to the wheelchair part yet but it is only a matter of time now. My sister procedded to tell me that there was no excuse for my bitching when I put myself through pain and blah blah blha. I can live with her spouting she knows NOTHING about orthopedics nor what it is like to have bad knees or any bad joint for that matter. I even got her ass on her trying to spout off on my Diabetes. She has Thyroid deises and if she doesn't get her weight down she will end up with Diabetes. That didn't piss her off this is on of our normal arguements. What did piss her off was my defending the old Geratrics at my therapy session!
She goes I would have told those people off! I said oh T they don't know any better! That is how they were raised and in a way they have earned the right to spout. As long as I didn't take offense what is the big deal. And then she procedded to say that is why I would never make a good nursing home nurse is because I worked to long as a CNA if I ever wanted to be a nurse that is. I said bullshit. You as a Nurse that worked in a Nursing home have NO CLUE how to react or interact wtih the residents! All nurses do is paperwork because you all don't know how to put the residents before paperwork. And if you don't like what I have to say to dayum bad. I have taken on more LPN/LPVs, RNs, DONs, and Adminstrators then you have ever thought of. You are too afraid to open your dayum mouth. Nurses handle paperwork and pass pills and pass on the information that CNA's gather to the docs and family. Then you all have the NERVE to get PIST when CNA's are short handed (which is all the time) and need some help. Goddess forbide you all stay past quiting time to finish the paperwork! No instead you blow the CNA's off and do your paperwork unless it is an "emergency". When a CNA HAS no choice but to take care of the resident right then or there. A because that is what we are paid to do B because if we don't the nurses get pist off and try to fire us and C the entire nursing staff from nurses to Administrators (most of them in nursing homes use to be DON's which they all use to be nurses or in some other medical feild) are more concerned over paperwork! If CNA's are required to do something for a nurse it doesn't matter to them if we are in the middle of something, we are to finish up as fast as possible and screw what needs to be done right or if the resident's feelings are taken into account and do what the nurse says because the nurse is to lazy to mop up Mr. such and such's spilled snack drink themselves! Let alone get Mrs. so and so's cig and wheel her to the smoking room or outside for that smoke that the NURSE promised but the CNA has to take care of! And if we don't have our shit done when quiting time comes around to dayum bad! We have to stay finish it and do rounds with the next shift! HOW FARKED up is that! All the while the nurse is on her way home! And don't get me started on LPNs/LVNS! They are the worst in nursing homes even compared to RNS. Your lucky sister that you got your RN cause if you didn't I would call you one lazy ass slacker! What is the whole point of going through nursing school to get an LPN/LVN when your only a few classes short of getting an RN?!? That one my sister happened to agree with me on:D
After that lil bout of arguing and my sister pouting but agreeing with me we then went off about our children! I know my children aren't perfect but I love them. And I know I wench and bitch about getting some me time but I don't pawn my kids off every farking chance I get! And I may not like it when the schedule changes due to a kid activity and I do my share of moaning but I go with the flow. My sister is famous as so many other parents are about bitching and moaning that somethign is not working out because of the kids or hubby and not like how I and others do it......bitch about it, be done with it and go with the flow. She harps on it. And it is her own dayum fault for signing her kids up for things and not putting her foot up her hubby's ass or even her own ass about her busy schedule! I asked her why did you bother having kids if they are going to be constantly either at a baby sitters house, doing something, and your constantly sleeping because your working?!? I will give it to my sister though she doesn't bitch about not going out. She knows that would just get her ass handed to her not only by me but by all her mom friends even the divorced ones that share custody! You gave up the right to have a life that consist of being kid free when you spread your legs, popped out a mini me, and consented to take care of the child! What right does ANY parent have to bitch about their free time being taken away because their kid is always around! Sorry folks that is apart of life and exactly what I pointed out to my sister. Take a day to be kid free or hell lets do a sister weekend down in Omaha or Lincoln. Hell I am even up for KC or Shy Town myself. The parental units or I should say the female parental unit would consent in taking 4 of her 5 grandkids for a long weekend to give her own girls a break from the kids!
Needless to say my older sister is PIST the FARK OFF at me! But she will get over it. She is starting to already because when I called Doc Mommy up to take a look at a finger of mine she already called whinning to her about what I DARED say to her! And my mom as an RN nurse completely agreed with me about nursing home nurses both LPN/LVN and RNS and reminded my sister about how she is actually taking care of paitents now on top of the paperwork and NOT just hte paper work and relying on CNAs to get her hte info! My mom also told her the same thing I did about the kids. Be lucky you actually watn to spend time with yoru kids and realize that you do sign them up for too much shit. So many people out htere think having kids should be a walk in a park and want to pawn them off on the non custiodal parent and still get that child support or pawn them off on their partner and still expect their partner to do for them after taking care of the kids for hte most part!

Yes, Peeing for the Man is something we all have to do eventually. Thanks to the torkers, crankers, shooters, boozers, drinkers and whatever the else they are fucking called; many of us have to now take pre employement drug tests, random drug tests and/or yearly drug tests for our jobs.
I for one am one of the few that do NOT mind having to take the drug test. Simply because of my husband's occupation. He is a maintance worker at a packing plant. Janitor many of you are thinking. Sorry folks in a packing plant maintance folks are actually the skilled and higher paid employees. My husband holds a Federal Journeymen's License in Electronics, an electrician, a mechanic, a trained first responder/emt and a supervisor who pushes paper work all in one shot. The engines they work on can range from 10 lbs up to a thousand plus. The wiring they work on is anything as a house might be to as complicated as wiring a whole panel of switches and wires that run anywhere from a dozen machines to the whole complex. The electronics they work on look simple and most comp geeks would turn around and end up killing themselves with one misprograming of a control. I for one do NOT want a druggy or an alchie working anywhere near my husband. Because SAFETY is important to NOT killing not only the maintance workers but the entire population of a plant.
Many of you, myself included, do happen to wonder why one would have to pee for a clerk job, a cashier job, a bank teller job, food job, and the such. Well simply put......if one is fucked up with drugs or booze......seriously folks your mind is fuckered be the reason and you do stupid shit like steal money or items, spit in someone's food, or server a food item that someone told you NOT to give them and you do and you kill them because they are allergic. The list is actually quite endless as to the reasons. As a teenager I got pist off as hell when I got my first real job as a supervisor/clerk at a small grocery store. Why the hell did I have to have a pee test when I don't do fucking drugs? As an adult I figured out the reason, just because someone says they aren't on drugs doesn't mean they are. And it is safer just to test everyone then put your trust in someone who is lying. And after my husband had to respond to one of his own crew when he was getting ready to come home one night.............I am a strong supporter of the pee test. The dude was a drunk......hubby and his boss kept turning him in for drinking before, on and after hte job. The dude had lots of DUI's and everytime my hubby got him out of the plant in NE, the union got him back on. Then one day the guy was drunk off his ass..........and he didn't use his head.........and forgot his electrical gloves (the industrial rubber thingys-electricians will know what I am talking about) and granted he was only working on a voltage that normally wouldn't have killed anyway....he didn't even have the normal electrical gloves on and he got a volt of electricity through him and it killed him. If it was a higher voltage he could have killed the employees in the general vicinity becuase even a small voltage caused a fire to break out in a panel room. As it was my husband had to do cpr on the dude and when he turned over the dude to the paramedics he had to go help with the smoke inhalation folks.
I wasn't to happy to have to go Pee for the Man today simply because I got a barely speaking English Asian lady as a lab tech and the woman couldn't do her job. A pee test should take no more then 10 minutes tops.....evne if you can't pee! Drink a few glasses of water fast and turn the faucet on! The woman didn't understand what I was talkign about listing my medications so I wouldn't get dinged and refused too! Then she wanted the whole dayum cup filled. You know how many pee tests I have taken in my life time for various medical reasons and for employeement? Not to mention I am the daughter of a Clinic/ER nurse! You only need about less then half to fill the plastic wide vials to send off! I knew I dind't have enough urine in me to fill the whole cup but she wanted a full cup! I told her this and said okay.....and dropped me off in a waiting room with 1 small lil cup of water and said wait. The bitch left me in the room for 20 mother fucking minutes while she dinked around in the room across from me. I say dinked because I could see her fucking ass. She was snacking on food, drinking a soda, and reading a mother fucking magazine. Needless to say Niassa lost her temper. And my sugars were out of wack all weekend for some reason and I was irritable as hell about having to make an extra stop for hubby to fill his truck up already. So when I saw what she was doing and she told me to sit down and wait after the first time I told her I was ready and she blew me off I went the fuck off on her lazy dinky ass!
Told her if she couldn't do her job then get the fuck out of the medical feild. Better yet if she doesn't have enough to do in a doctor's office with a waiting room full of ppl out there then get her ass to a hospital. And next time she blows someone off so she can fucking eat and drink a soda while reading a magazing she better dayum well hope it isn't me again. Not to mention she best learn to speak english clearly enough to understand what the hell someone is saying because if she fucks me over because she didn't list my medications I would have her sorry ass job not to mention her license. Needless to say the Nurse Manager of the Office heard me going off and came and finished the test for me all the while apologizing. I dont' know what was said to the lady but I know the Nurse Manager wasn't happy that I ended up going the hell off and being kept waiting while she read a dayum magazine sipping on a soda stuffing her fucking mouth. I finally got out of the doctor's office at 10:30. I got into the lab at 9:30 because I got to the office at 9:15!
I dropped off the employer sheet to the job site and told the manager what happened. She took down a list of my medications to be on the safe side so she could let the corp health office know jsut in case the Nurse Manager fuckered up also. And she is also going to suggest they use a different doctor's office to start doing the pee tests!
On top of peeing for the man I might suggest that companies start testing for stupidity!:D
Okay this was an odd post I know. I got to talking about why pee test were important and all that crap and ended up in a rant. But you all will get over it:P
