Ring @ MindSay

Shower Me with Diamonds
Well, considering the two blogs in one evening, you'd never know it's busy at work tonight.

But I have to tell you this story and dedicate it to Mark.
You know, this might be my very first post dedicated to Mark, one of my faithful readers. (Hi Mark! *waving*)

Earlier today, I was over at Kelly and Mark's house. Mark and I were chatting and he was telling me about the Twins game (he and his brothers went to Chicago for the Cubs/Twins series) he got to attend. He mentioned that while he was at the game, he was telling one of his brothers a story and he gestured with his hands and suddenly his wedding ring flew off. It landed a couple rows behind him and, luckily, they got it back.

Then, just moments ago, I saw this story on the internet. Turns out a woman in Florida lost her wedding ring at a bus stop. She and her husband have been married 68 years and while waiting for the bus, her ring suddenly flew off her fingers. (She has been steadily shrinking with old age, doncha know?) She and her husband looked for it but couldn't find it. Eventually, they left the scene, but a police officer who knew they had lost it called in a treasure hunter he knows that owns a metal detector. Long story short, the woman got her ring back. Which is all very sweet (read the story if you want more), but not really the point.

Can we take a moment to examine the odds of this? I was not planning to see Kelly today and/or be at their house. Mark was supposed to be at work, but something fell through and he was able to come home for lunch, when I happened to be there.  So, we shouldn't have even seen each other at all, much less have time to sit and chat so that he could tell me this story AND THEN, I read a similar story on the internet (as featured news on Yahoo!) the same day?!?!?!?

Talk about synchronicity.  (Ironically, the post I am linking to there--also features Kelly).

It was just too, too odd not to post about it.

Blog #142
Not So Lonely After All

This week off isn't going to be as lonely as I once imagined.
Monday was spent with Shelly and Ashleigh, Tuesday was spent with Adam...
Today I'm alone, Friday I'll be alone - and Thursday, I'll spend with Shelly.
Saturday is likely to be spent with Shelly and Ashleigh and Sunday I'll be spending with my nana and grandad.

Not bad. I did expect to be alone for a lot more days this week.
I don't enjoy being alone - unless the choice is to be with arseholes or to be alone.
I love spending time with people I like - and I like being alone, if I have no choice but to be alone or to rag my brain out by spending it with cunts - e.g. my mother.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Shelly woke me up by ringing me at about half 11.
She says I'm lazy because I like to sleep until 11. I often don't end up getting to sleep until 2 or 3 - and when my sleep is free from interruption - like college and friends - I tend to need about 10 hours.

She stayed on the phone to me for a really long time - so I didn't even feel lonely.
I was alone in the house, but I had Shelly there to talk to.

While we ranted on to each other - I carried on playing through some All-Star challenges on Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
I've also managed to clear a few of the dodgy timed Target Smash challenges - thanks to copying some techniques I saw on YouTube videos. :)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I've figured out what is wrong with my Harvest Moon.
Every so often, the load/save screen will just CRASH - and refuse to work until I leave the Playstation off for a few hours.
I've noticed, it occurs every 3 hours, approximatley. I'm unsure as to why - but I know that I can only play Harvest Moon: BTN in segments of 3 hours or less.

It's okay though - BTN isn't a proper intense hardcore game that I sit and play for 20+ hours non-stop.
It's no Final Fantasy VII, no Super Smash Bros. Brawl and no Paper Mario. :D

(no subject)
Okay, so today is pretty much like the nastiest, dreariest day of all time. It's so cloudy and chilly and wet, definitely not a good day to be out and about. I so wish I could curl up under a nice warm quilt in front of a fire, read a good book, and sip on a cup of hot tea. (Okay, I am only 24...I am too young for that idea to sound just heavenly to me, right?!)

For a while now, I have been thinking of what to do with my engagement ring since I am obviously not going to be needing it anymore. I could return it to the guy, but he was so nasty about everything (including getting the stupid thing back) that I don't really feel that I owe him much of anything. Plus, I don't want to see him to return it to him. Maybe this sounds snobbish, but I really never though the thing was all that pretty, so I was never really crazy about it. He went and picked it out himself without even asking me about what sort of a ring I would want, and he pretty much got exactly the sort of ring that I would never, ever in a million years have picked out for myself. So, that said, I think what I have decided to do is to take the ring back to the jeweler he bought it from and see if they will allow me to trade it in toward a new ring that I really would like to wear. We'll see, I guess, but what I would really like is a pink sapphire. :)
