Slow And Steady we're Opening New Doors!

I've been so busy building up my Facebook Page and creating Zazzle goodies I really haven't been here much.

Plus the healing of my thumb and dealing with the company I work for & the government has been a drawn out process! It's okay, I don't mind... spring's warmer temps are coming so it's much easier to be patient, it seems!

On this slow and steady track I've found some interesting consequences and I'm not sure but I think they may become real positive aspects in my experience. We still haven't crossed that threshold of whether the company will even keep me on, apparently they aren't oblligated because the injury occurred before I'd been employed for over a year! Technicality, yes, but I guess there have to be limitations! By the middle of the month I may know more regarding this issue, that's when the "Back to Work" Coordinator will come in to assess my current work and help the company design my work activities to avoid further injury.  How they comply and how they react to these strict limitations will speak volumes!

Surgery will follow sometime this spring and then we'll see what bridges we'll want to cross after that! Again the company may choose not to keep me on. It's been determined that I have a propensity toward this type of injury - and ultimately even typing for a living could cause a similar problem so it will be interesting to see where my company and or the government agency that helps injured workers thinks I should go in terms of a career for the next 15 years of my work life!

And the interesting aspect that has me curious - learning to be more left handed! This has some implications - I believe this can be an opportunity to expand my creativity. By playing with that whole right brain vs. left brain theory I'm normally right handed, and I already am a creative person so here I go into a situation where by being more left handed I can stimulate right brain activity and boost my creativity tenfold!

In LightWorker circles people are discussing the coming together of right and left brain energies. There is a current of belief suggesting humans are rewiring their circuits and reconnecting the brain halves, learning to work in a synergystic way with their higher selves, their spiritual selves. I get the impression this challenge I'm experiencing with my right hand/left hand issues is almost like a symbolic representation of something I'm already doing naturally anyway, if this synergy boost is true!

Time will tell the tale for now! And for now I still get to enjoy having a few snippets of time each day to update my blogs, play with my photos and artwork and revel in the fresh new energies spring is rushing forth! The longer I get to appreciate this aspect of my experience the happier I am!

Note: Our Enchanted Garden is currently down but will hopefully be up and running again before things start growing for another season! I'm looking to set up my own server to host the site and should get things in order fairly soon!

Musings and Ramblings

The following musings and ramblings are bought to you by my laptop and things observed while on the campus of the University of Houston.

  • GET A ROOM!! As I walked into the University Center I was pleased to see that there was an empty chair in front of the television that is always on the same College MTV channel.  A seat in the UC is greatly coveted.  I gleefully whipped out my laptop so I could goof off until I my next class which doesn't start for another 2 1/2 hours. As the laptop booted up, I saw that there was an overweight, yet adorable couple sitting in the loveseat in front of me.  Aww... isn't that sweet! I thought. They look so in love!  Suddenly, they started making out right there! They were no longer cute and sweet.  I tried pay attention to the goings-on with my laptop, but the kissing sounds made me want to retch.  It was worse than watching them!  As some of you know, I'm very sensitive to sounds and I really, REALLY hate mouth noises! Mouth breathers get on my nerves and the sound of people's dentures slipping set my teeth on edge.  Anyway, the poor girl to the right of me looked like she was enjoying her Chick-Fil-A sandwich before they started making out.  She just made a face, started chewing more slowly and finally just left.  LOL!

  • Why did I wear these cute shoes on campus?  That's a big no-no! Sure, they look great with my shirt, but now my feet hurt! Damn my vanity!

  • *Pats self on the back* Yesterday while halfway watching CSI: New York, the victim had a needle wedged inside his brain. The medical examiner cut open his brain to pull the needle out and I correctly identified that it was wedged inside the corpus collosum area. (woohoo! go me!) It was an interesting episode because the victim was a gifted scientist. The medical examiner said that the needle that got lodged in his brain when he was a baby, made the connection of the victim's two hemispheres closer which caused greater communication between the two sides of his brain.  In essence, the needle in his brain was the reason why the victim was a genius.

  • Considering the fact that I have a test next Thursday, I should take advantage of this long break I have between classes and study. Why am I not studying???? After all, according to some douchebag scientist that Noelle67 blogged about recently, I should try to get a head start since racially, I'm genetically predispositioned to be dumber than my white and Asian contemporaries. *rolls eyes*

Last of the MOOs, 2006!
October, as someone noticed yesterday, sure has a lot of stuff to take note of, in the annual Calendar of Stuff to Note.  As we close out the month, here are some I haven't yet mentioned:

This is Right Brainers Rule! Month.  I did a Google search on this term and found 127,000 entries.  Try it. It's very interesting. Lots of books about how the future will be guided by those in their "right" minds.

Today is Books for Treats Day, as well as Caramel Apple Day.  So...do we dip the books in caramel first? No?  I'm so confused....! ;)  It's National Knock-Knock Joke Day. So go ahead, annoy your friends and co-workers by following them around all day.

"Knock Knock!"
"Who's there?"
"Sam and Janet"
"Sam and Janet who?"
<sing> "Sam and Janet Evening..."  (Some Enchanted Evening...)

It is also National UNICEF Day. If you see charming children collecting for this noteworthy charity, please give generously. I used to be one of those kids who collected, once upon a time, a long, long time ago.

And of course, it's Samhain. It's also Halloween, or All Hallow's Evening.  Of these, there is much to be said of both these occasions all over MindSay.

It's been an interesting month, finding out the unusual observations people have during October.  I know I learned a lot.  I learned, especially, to beware of leftovers on October 30th...

Mwahahaha.....

I can't do the opposite, lol

While sitting at your desk, lift your right foot off the floor and make clockwise circles.

Now, while doing this, draw the number "6" in the air with your right hand.

Your foot will change direction and there's nothing you can do about it.
