I was just listening to one of my favourite song of Ani's, "In or Out," and there is a part of the song that I love, but then confuses me because while I get the general gist, the metaphor doesn't make total sense to me. Right now, as I was listening to the song, it suddenly clicked!!
In the song she is talking about her bisexuality (which I myself wrote a bitty on and shall either send into
comingout, or post here, or maybe both, if they will allow...).
So the lyrics go:
to me what's more important
is the person that I bring
not just getting to the same restaurant
and eating the same thing
So finally it clicked that the restaurant is the other person's sex. I don't know why that didn't click earlier because it seems so clear... but whatever. :)
