When Is It Past The Point of No Return?
Perhaps the one who disappears will find a closed door when he returns next. Physically, enforced and personally. But that most likely won't matter, at least for some time, probably years. Maybe decades. Until exhausted and spent wanting to return. But by then return to what.

One returned to me. But I had no heart left to receive him by then. It was just somebody old with an anguished mind, taken over by loneliness. How much anger did I have by then? Enough to have to fight any feelings of being payed back when necessarily deciding to cut off the medicines for him to die.

The pursued turned pursuer cannot see these things. Tooo foreign, inscrutable for a mind who's been used to being the center of things, commanding others' emotions.

Those sucker who turned over in trust their hearts and minds to an indifferent one have been in hell, soon to be joined by the trusted one who in the end lost in this game without knowing it perhaps even now.

Returning

Somehow, in the press of everyday life, I forgot about my mindsay space, and therefore forgot my log in name to say nothing of my password. So, all my photos and postings are gone, lost somewhere here in mindsay. But I really don't mind. A fresh start is good too. I can't even promise myself I will find time to return again at a regular enough basis to keep fresh in my poor feeble mind this new name.

One of my favorite quotes:

"When you do the common things in life in an uncommon way,

You command the attention of the world"

I was thinking about what drives some of us to become involved in Fan Fiction, there is a huge fan base out there online for may different genres, Broomstickriders, Wolfriders, Dragonriders, and so on and on and on. Personally I want to spend more time in the worlds of my favorite authors. If I had the talent I would create my own worlds, lacking that skill I have found a way to extend my enjoyment of the stories I love. It is a great relief to escape there when the stress of everyday life threatened to overwhelm me. Thinking perhaps fan-fiction writing related to role-playing games for those of us who prefer to exercise the fingers, I went out exploring on-line. So in my curiosity I googled role-playing games (RPG) Below is just a bit of what I found. Wow.

A (RPG, often role-playing game) is a type of game in which the participants assume the roles of fictional characters and collaboratively create or follow stories. Participants determine the actions of their characters based on their characterization, and the actions succeed or fail according to a formal system of rules and guidelines. Within the rules, players can improvise freely; their choices shape the direction and outcome of the games.

A role-playing game rarely has winners or losers. That makes role-playing games fundamentally different from board games, card games, sports and most other types of games. Role-playing games are typically more collaborative and social than competitive. A typical role-playing game unifies its participants into a single team, known as a "party", that plays as a group. Like serials or novel sequences, these episodic games are often played in weekly sessions over a period of months or even years, although some gamers prefer playing one-session games.

Role-playing games are a form of interactive and collaborative storytelling. Like novels or films, role-playing games appeal because they engage the imagination. Interactivity is the crucial difference between role-playing games and traditional fiction. Whereas a viewer of a television show is a passive observer, a player at a role-playing game makes choices that propel the action. Such role-playing games extend an older tradition of storytelling games where small parties of friends collaborate to create a story.

While simple forms of role-playing, exist in traditional children's games such as "cops and robbers “,” cowboys, Indians, and playing house, role-playing games add a level of sophistication and persistence to this basic idea. Instead, participants in a role-playing game will generate specific characters and an ongoing plot. A consistent system of rules and a more or less realistic campaign setting in games aids suspension of disbelief. The level of realism in games ranges from just enough internal consistency to set up a believable story or credible challenge to full-blown simulations of real-world processes.

playing games, though neither pen and paper nor a table are strictly necessary.

 Freeform computer-assisted gaming

"Freeform" can also refer to online text-based role-playing games which lack rules, instead relying on the player's acting abilities and commitment to a good story. (In MUSH settings, these are often called consent-based, because what happens to a character is influenced by a potential "veto" from that character's player.) These systems must either rely on carefully selected individuals or strict moderation, in order to prevent less mature players from taking advantage (god-moding) of the rule-free environment, for example by unrealistically shielding their characters from the consequences of their actions.

Similarly, "freeform" can refer to online forum- and email-based role-playing games which lack rules or which lack statistics by which to judge a character's abilities. As with freeform MUSHes, those running the game rely instead upon the players' writing talents and use of description to determine outcomes--if a GM is used to control the game at all. Some online freeform games closely resemble collaborative fiction, while others have much more structured rule sets, such as the Role Player's Creed.[1]

These online freeform games are subject to criticism, namely for their frequent childishness (as exemplified in chats around the Internet). Others note that they are based upon the idea of elite roleplay, and take value in being professional about what they do.

Role Play

On-line role-playing allows an opportunity to experiment with theoretical knowledge gained from readings with the addition of understanding a situation from different perspectives. It is similar to role playing that is done in face-to -face classes with an advantage that players can be given the pseudonym of their role, and others in the class will not know who is playing that role. Without visual cues, it may be easier to separate the role from the person playing it.

There are two types of role plays: Structured and spontaneous. Structured role plays may be based on case studies whereby information has been provided in advance as to the specific characteristics to be modeled. The situation is described and each role is defined giving the player an idea of what perspective that person has, perhaps their age, cultural identity, position in an organization, etc.

Spontaneous role plays are based on experiences at the particular moment. For instance, you may ask two learners to role play a conflict situation to practice resolution skills. They will discuss the conflict and employ the skills as themselves, using their own understanding of the skills and their own experiences with the topic to interact in an immediate way in the role play.

Debriefing role plays will enable learners to reflect on how they were able to apply concepts from the class. Others in the class who observed the role playing discussion can also be invited to share their perspectives of what they learned. Because in this role play, you have a written record of the dialogue, you may have a very fruitful debriefing that enables participants and observers to return to very specific parts in the dialogue to explore what was happening there, the feelings that were influencing behavior, etc. The written record also gives an opportunity to rewrite a portion of the dialogue. You might ask how the learner would handle that part of the discussion differently if she/he could go back or invite other learners to share their thoughts and recommendations.

On-line role plays could occur in chatrooms that permit the immediacy of a face to face role play or in an asynchronous discussion room. This provides a variation where role players can think a little more before typing in their comments. It allows time to be reflective and may be encouraging for members of your course who are shy or do not think on their feet as well. More advanced role plays may become more like simulations. In medical training, persons playing the role of the surgeon are actually able to practice where they would make incisions and what the result of their decisions would be. These are of course very costly activities to produce, but as technology advances, we can imagine our creativity being unleashed in this area.

."Two pence for the little one we keep in a cage."
.Next week, I'm going to Austin.

.It's been a while. Maybe two people in my mindsay friends would remember my going there in the winter. That was when I met my ex.

.This time, I'm going for very different reasons. No auditions for me. No... I'm going strictly to see friends. Geez... I haven't seen Brittany in a little over a year. And she's probably one of my favorite people in the whole world--if not my favorite person entirely. I miss her so much...

.But really, I also miss Austin. The capitol of Texas is possibly one of the most interesting places there is. It's called the music capitol of the world for a reason. It also is home to interesting, indie fashions and entertainment.

.And to top it all off, I have a date when I get there. So... hey, I can't complain. See you in Austin. Maybe. Probably not
