."Plan 'B' was ill-conceived."
.Ever since I was a young child, I've wanted a pet snake--specifically a ball python. I kid you not. Does it bother me that I would have to feed it dead rodents? No, it's the cycle of life. Does it bother me that it could kill me if it constricted around my head too tightly? No, it wouldn't do that. We would be buddies. Yes, the snake and I would be buddies.

.But here's the problem... I fly to school.

.How is that a problem? You might ask. I'm painfully serious when I say this: you really can't have snakes on a plane. Not in your carry-on, not as checked baggage, not in cargo. No snakes on a plane. But how do people moving from one side of the country to the other take their pet snake? They don't. Airlines are totally discriminatory against cold-blooded animals. The only way you can ship a snake as cargo is if you are a "known shipper" with a personal business that ships at least 6 times a year.

.I can't leave my possible future snake here. My mother would never take care of it. Sigh.

.In other news, I like porn. Porn porn porn.

My favorite dragon

This is the lovely monitor lizard who lives at the UWSP College of Natural Resources building. The Argus Monitor Lizard is part of a student project sponsored by the Herpetology Society at the university. He (or "it" I'm not sure if he is a he or a she) lives in the Vivarium part of the CNR building. And, yes, that's me in the video saying, "Isn't he awesome?!"  I try to visit and observe him at least once a week. He's a lively fellow, wouldn't you agree? He kept coming up to the glass seemingly in an attempt to get friendly with me. He kept banging his head into the glass when I kneeled down in front of him. I hope he wasn't bothered by me. My human reaction is to think he likes me and looks forward to my visits!  This reptile brightens my day.  I'm serious.  Those eyes sparkle with curiousity and intelligence.

Here are a few more close up photos of the lizard:

And look at it's tongue!  He was hard to photograph because he kept moving around.  I did manage to capture him in a wink in the second to last photograph.  Gods, I love that creature.  It's the closest thing to seeing a dragon... and that's exactly what I call him.  My favorite dragon.

Some Lizard's are?

Hard to photograph.  If any of you know what kind of lizard this is and have seen them before, then you probably know just how difficult it is to find them being still enough to ever get a picture of one.

And lastly, here's a picture of part of a mosaic that was in this building with the reptiles. Just think about it.

Alright, time for me to crash. Tomorrow we're going to Mt. Reiner and I need to get as much sleep as possible.
