My son had to shoot some pictures today for the newspaper because the Clydesdale horses were walking across the levy of the dam near our house.

My red Aztec is in the first picture. We were trying to follow along as they were up on the levy. He got that shot from top of the levy.

My son is in the blue shirt right next to the horses on the left with the camera.

I shot the rest of the pictures.

We had two cars and two cameras, if you're confused.

Life goes in circles or is that cycles?

My son has really big shoes to fill but I think he's up to it.

Back in 1996, I took a job as the Lifestyle Editor for our local newspaper.

I worked with a precious young lady who is still there and now the Design Editor.

I also worked with a memorable man named Steve Smith who had been with the newspaper for 25 years when he passed away last month. How do you go about replacing a person who was an icon in the community?

Everyone knew Steve. He covered the City Council meetings, the high school events, the college events, the fires, the car wrecks, the floods, the festivals, the parades.

He had a style of writing that was unique to news reporting.

My son got a phone call from the publisher this morning and he went in for a job interview to replace Mr. Smith.

He starts in the morning!

Funny how life sometimes takes you full circle! My son will be working where I had my first job when we moved here 11 years ago. His experience as editor of two college newspapers has landed him a job in a field he never really pursued.

Any suggestions or tips are always welcome. But for now I am just dropping found and submitted movies. Should or could [...]
