We have a pesky ant problem pretty much every year. And with all the animals around I hate using any kind of pesticides.
This year mom handed me a page out of some magazine with natural repellents / pesticides. I had set it aside but when I saw the two inch trail of ants on our split rail fence yesterday that led to the base of our home and up the side into the rafters I remembered it.
The suggestion for ants ...... ground cinnamon, ground cayenne, bay leaves.
So off to the spice cupboard I went. Found what was left of our ground cinnamon and ground cayenne pepper and headed out to see if it worked.
A simple line across the rail of the fence of cinnamon sent the ants into a tailspin. The red pepper ???? Handled them the same way. So off to the grocery store I went ...... bought the largest cheapest containers of both and proceeded to spice up the fence ...... and the base of the house.
This morning ...... virtually ant free .....
It works ...... and the fence smells good to!
Peace. J.
