They say that where there is smoke..there is fire. Luckily for me that isn't always true. Woke up about 2:30 am last night with smoke in the trailer. Couldn't tell where it was coming from. Called 911 who connected us to the sheriffs office as this is way out int he boonies. Deputy showed up just a couple of minutes later. He looked all around the place and finally figured out it must be coming from the central air unit. Opened that up and a whole bunch of burned wiring showed up. Really bad. Today called several different air conditioner dealer/repairmen. One wanted 65 bucks just to come out and look at it. Another wanted 40 bucks just to come look. Another said he would come and look at it free. He came out. He said that it was probably moisture that caused it. The drain on the unit isn't all that great. He said he would fix that. Rewire it. And clean it up. For 300 bucks. It needs cleaning out for sure. I'm sure when or if the folks that were here before ever had it cleaned. I know it hasn't been since we been here. So I think that is a pretty good deal. Can't be certain as we haven't gotten a second opinion. If the guy does the job right and it works really well...he will be getting all the business from my family from now on. He is going to come out and fix it tommorrow. And let us pay the first half friday. And the rest next friday. He says its going to be too hot for us to sit here without air conditioning. As its supposed to be 105 on Weds. I think he is right. Hopefully it will go well.
Hope all you guys are keeping cool. And keeping your cool :p
