Repair Work @ MindSay

I am not a happy camper. 

The BMW is having issues and they are costly ones.  I was told today that eventually I will need new calipers for the left front tire.  The parts alone are $400.00.  That is not all.  The whole reason I brought it in is that the dash lights for the ABS and ASC keep coming on.  Mostly in the morning.  At times the car shimmies and the mechanics believe  that is due from the ABS pump not engaging.  I had the relay pumps for both ABS and ASC systems replaced today and we were hoping that the lights would stop coming on.  They continue to come on.  So now we need to find out why.  As they worked on it they found that the ABS pump was not engaging properly.  That could be from a bad pump or it might be due to hydrolic system going bad.  If it is the pump, the cost will be minor.  If it is the system, well lets just say the mechanic had no idea how much it will be.  That means tons of more money to be spent. 

And to beat all, the girl in the service department, Jennifer whom I have a crush on, is right up there in the "Sherrie" category.  A beautiful person both inside and out.  But like I figured, she has a boyfriend and to make matters worse, she is only 24 which is too young for me.

Can't a guy get a break?

Last year about this time I was freezing in my house and the heat would not come on.  So I called someone to come out and fix the unit.  $90.00 later the dude told me that if this happened again all I have to do is get the fan moving.  Turn it manually he said.

So after another 40' night the house was freezing.  Now I must admit that all of the windows have been opened and my house seems to keep the cold and the hot air in.  I did not want anymore cold air.  So I turned on the heat.  What I wanted to do was to heat it up enough so that I could wear sweats and still be warm and then turn it off.  Well the heat fan would not work.

So off to the unit I go with tools in hand.  As I was working I somehow cut my finger.  With blood drops all over the place, Mattie irritating me, and the daggum thing not working I take apart the exterior of the unit to get to the fan.  With a simple poke with my longest flat blade the fan kicks in!!!!!!

While I was putting things back together I notice that along with red spots all over things I have dented the breaker box in my effort to open it.  Damn breaker box.  But it is all good.  I now have heat!

So the end to the story is that I saved $90.00!  Never pay someone for something that you can do for yourself.  Now I need to prepare myself for the coming winter months heating bill. :(
