I watched Garden State last night, it's one of my favorite movies. It's very smart and funny and romantic and emotional. Natalie Portman is so cute and Zach Braff is majorly talented (I think he's going to be a big star). I always cry at the ending (yes, I secure enough in my masculinity to admit that.) It's a really good film.
It also has an amazing soundtrack. I listen to my copy of it almost once a week. The Shins, Frou Frou (I wish they'd get back together), Simon and Garfunkel, Remy Zero and Coldplay, could you possibly ask for a cooler bunch of musicians?
The thing is, there is a song used in the film that is not on the soundtrack. It's only for like a few seconds at the begining of the scene where Sam and Andrew go to bury her pet hamster.
It's not a big deal or anything but not knowing the song has been bugging me. It's sound like it's sung my a man playing an acoustic guitar and the lyrics have the word "orange" in them. It's right before the song I Just Don't Think I'll Ever Get Over You in the film but I'm pretty sure it's not that song.
Does anyone know the song I am talking about or who it's by?
Update: I just looked it up on Wikipedia. the song is "Orange Sky" by Alexi Murdoch. It wasn't on the soundtrack because the rights are owned by Fox's The O.C. Hey cool now it won't be bugging me any more. :P
Thanks,
Mark
