Everyday Survival Kit

A Survival Kit for Every Day

TOOTHPICK ... to remind you to pick the good qualities in everyone, including yourself.

RUBBER BAND ... to remind you to be flexible. Things may not always go the way you want, but they can be worked out.

BAND-AID ... to remind you to heal hurt feelings, whether yours or someone else's.

ERASER ... to remind you everyone makes mistakes. That's okay, we learn by our errors.

CANDY KISS ... to remind you everyone needs a hug or a kind word everyday.

MINT ... to remind you that you are worth a mint to your family.

BUBBLE GUM ... to remind you to stick with it and you can accomplish anything.

PENCIL ... to remind you to list your blessings every day.

TEA BAG ... to remind you to take time to relax daily and go over that list of God's blessings.

This is what makes life worth

living every minute, every day.

For fun, I have bagged these items,

 and given them as gifts.

Not expensive, but often valuable!

Project List
Alright, since I never seem to be able to come up with a stable To-Do list I'd like to jot down all of my "fun" projects down on here so anyone can poke at me and remind me to do shit.  To everyone reading this: if anything on this list looks particularly interesting or fun and you'd like to see it finished, REMIND ME!  Send me an e-mail, IM, phone call, note, greeting card, rock-to-the-head-with-a-note-attached, whatever.  Here goes.

  • Finish outline for Legend of Zelda spoof video
  • Construct page for webcomic complete with commentary and archives.
  • Update webcomic with regularity (aiming for MWF schedule)
  • Add FlashChat to RPNet.
  • Construct page for Club Review site.
  • Finish Naiad's Gambit story and begin work on series/site.
  • Finish Chapter 3 of Roughnecks.
  • Write Malik's Story.
  • Finish RPG tech paper.
That's all that popped into my little head.  I'm sure there's more but I just haven't done it / thought of it yet.  More to come.

Pain everlasting
"Time heals all wounds."  This is probably the greatest falsehood I know.  It's some huge cosmic joke.  Pain doesn't fade with time; only reminders of pain do, and we can never get rid of all the reminders.  You can change everything in your life: your job, your entertainment, the people you associate with...  and those reminders will still crop up when they're least expected and most painful.

And when they do, the pain will be just as fresh and intense as it was in the beginning.

I've lost my desire--or perhaps merely my faith--in marriage, and I'm still not sure whether or how to mourn that.

My feelings are so twisted and convoluted that I can't even think straight anymore... nor sort them out.

I used to think lack of communication destroyed relationships.  I'm beginning to think selfishness plays a greater role.

What makes pain fade?  Effort?  Facing it head-on?

Isn't this supposed to be getting easier?

Final thought:  We can surround ourselves with people, even have someone close to us 24/7, but we still journey alone.

Musical Memories
The memory is an amazing thing. It can attach certain memories with smells, tastes, sounds. The latter is what I find the most common in my memory. I listen to sounds, mainly songs, and remember so many different things. I listen to rain and think of lying in my bed in Perth just listening to it. I listen to red hot chili peppers and it reminds me of a certain book that I was reading whilst I listened to them. I listen to limp bizkit and I remember studying for my religion exam last year. I listen to the latest green day album and it makes me slightly sad because of things that were going on at a certain time that I listened to it. Specifically the song Wake me up when Semptember ends - i can remember leaving class and walking down the street next to the school in the rain, just crying. This memory comes back everytime I listen to that song. I listen to the newest Simple Plan CD and it also makes me sad because I listened to it mainly at the same time I listened to the green day album. Like the song Untitled, I can distinctly remember walking down my street at midnight and lying down on the deserted road. And the song Crazy, I can remember lying on the floor of my room, stressed out and hysterical, just trying to calm myself down. However if I listen to the older Simple Plan CD it makes me happy and it reminds me of when I would always drum along to their songs, as well as reminding me of the happy times that were going on. When I listen to Good Charlotte I remember singing along and mucking around with my friends at school. And Powderfinger reminds me of when I went to the coast with my friends. Kisschasey reminds me of all my midnight drives. Although there are still many songs and cd's that are just general, and do not yet have any related memories as yet.
I just found this quite interesting, and what brought it up is I just heard simple plan's Crazy playing on the radio somewhere. This is one of the bad things about when some of these songs with strong memories attached become mainstream. Then you can sometimes be forced to listen to it. And sometimes its just not good to bring certain memories back.

AMAZINGLY SIMPLE HOME REMEDIES

1. If you are choking on an ice cube, don't panic. Simply pour a cup of boiling water down your throat and presto.. The blockage will be almost instantly removed.

2. Clumsy? Avoid cutting yourself while slicing vegetables by getting someone else to hold them while you chop away.

3. Avoid arguments with the Mrs. about lifting the toilet seat by simply using the sink.

4. For high blood pressure sufferers: simply cut yourself and bleed for a few minutes, thus reducing the pressure in your veins. Remember to use a timer.

5. A mouse trap, placed on top of your alarm clock, will prevent you from rolling over and going back to sleep after you hit the snooze button.

6. If you have a bad cough, take a large dose of laxatives, then you will be afraid to cough.

7. Have a bad toothache? Smash your thumb with a hammer and you will forget about the toothache.

Sometimes, we just need to remember what the rules of life really are:   You only need two tools: WD-40 and Duct Tape. If it doesn't move and should, use the WD-40. If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.
