So, i'm rehearsing two plays right now.

rehearsals for Jungle Book are pretty exciting. Especially because of a tall, punky, queer named Shawn.

rehearsals for Drop Dead! are going well. The show is so intense and physically demanding. i'm exhausted.

I was cast in Shakespeare's As You Like It and the musical, Guys and Dolls at my high school. Parts remain unknown and elusive.

so, for about a week i will be in four shows concurrently and for a period of two months i will be in three.

the scary part is that no rehearsals or performances overlap. i just have to ride my bike very fast to get from point A to point B in a short amount of time but i can do it.

i haven't done this much theatre all at once since i was a sophomore.

things will be... interesting.

so, tonight's my last night at home for the summer..i've pretty much cleaned up everything of mine in the office and in my room, putting everything into a bunch of boxes for my parents to move down for me next next saturday.  tomorrow i'll be leaving for uva's marching band bandcamp (hahah), where we'll be staying at the charlottesville doubletree.  looks to be a pretty nice place, but it won't be the same as having the entire english inn, that's for sure.  ah well.  leave here at 10AM, check in at 11:30, my cousin checks in with the drumline from 3-5PM, so that'll be interesting actually having a relative at the same school..though he's in e-school, not a-school.  we'll see how long he lasts..heh, heh. XD

i guess the problem though, is come monday, when grounds for discussion rehearsals run from 8AM-5PM, which obviously direct conflict with marching band morning rehearsals and afternoon sectionals.  i've got the full schedule for GfD though, and most of the first week (or at least, the first few days) is learning pregame, anyhow, which shouldn't be too difficult to catch up with since we'll be doing it again who knows how many times.  plus, i already know all the music.  anyhow, hopefully my having a car will facilitate things, and i hope this fifth semester here will transition smoothly.  it's funny how ambivalent i feel about it all, not wanting to leave home while simultaneously wanting to go back and see old friends and make new ones, but not wanting to go back to studio and the countless hours of laboring over bullshittily-explained projects.  sigh.  such is the life, i suppose.

oh, and i guess random visitors could facebook me.

Tech week is quite possibly the worst thing in the world.

 

Okay. So maybe I'm exaggerating a little bit. But who in the world would want to stay in school for rehearsals until nine o'clock at night? What's that, like thirteen hours in school for me? Ugh. Tech week suuuucks, and I'm going to whine whine whine about it. I can't do any homework, and I have to eat dinner like at ten o'clock and sleep right afterwards. I'm in every act so it's not like I can just leave early or take a dinner break. It's just really really hard... on just about everything.

Finals are over! OH YES! I'll post my grades tomorrow, but I could really care less at the moment. lol.

 

Saturday is PROM! My hair appointment is scheduled for 1:30 that afternoon. I still have to pick out what hairstyle and cut I want, and I still need to get my shoes! Ack! XD I got my Anthropologie dress in the mail yesterday. It fits and is absolutely gorgeous! I'm sooo happy!

 

We're really cracking down on the play rehearsals. Next week is tech week, and I'll be staying at school until 8:30-9:00 at night. It's very very tough, but I've done this before, so I know I can do it again!

 

I have to go to bed now, but I'll made an effort to blog tomorrow. :)
