Regina Spektor @ MindSay

Lollapalooza

I really really want to got to Lollapalooza in August. A whole bunch of my favorite bands are going to be there.

Regina Spektor, Ben Harper, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Modest Mouse, The Roots, Pearl Jam, G. Love, Pete Yorn, TV on the Radio, My Morning Jacket, Motion City Sountrack, and so many more killer bands I have wanted to see for like forever.

Let's see, where can I get the money to travel to Chicago for a week? Well, I have the money, but that is way too much to spend.

Plus, the whole thing is a couple of weeks before school starts up and I think that the time would best for getting ready. Also I probably couldn't take a week off work.

Does anybody wanna buy me tickets and shit?  That would be awesome :)

Thanks,

Mark

It's kind of sad how alike the character of Rob and I are. Still, Get Fuzzy is by far the funniest comic strip our there. Much funnier then that Garfield crap.

Fanmande Video game video of the day: Spore - Us
This is a game I want.

Although I don't believe in evolution, I find it is an interesting game mechanic.  In the game "Spore" uses the idea to create something I do want to play. You start out as a spore, eating things in a pac-man like fashion and growing. As you grow, you can design your species any way you want to; eventually dominating the universe(s) that exists around you.  The fellow galaxies and planets that you visit will be made up of creatures other people made: The game automatically uploads your creatures to a server and automatically downloads the creatures of other players. So your galaxy, although it is a single player game, is bristling with  the creations of people you might not even know....

Here is a video with an awesome song by Regina Spektor attached to it... I really dig the song (Although it may not be to everyones taste) and it shows what the game is like.  It should, hopefully, be coming out this year.

More Regina (Re-Spekt)

I just can't get enough of Regina Spektor. I am morjorly addicted and probaby never going to be cured. I think she is so beautiful (OK, so I have a little crush)  and very talented. The song is entitled Ode to Divorce, it's the first track off of her third album Soviet Kitsch

Thanks,

Mark

Books, Glorious Books!

Last night saw some crazy shit with Coral and I. I don't know what to do but I am sure I will figure it out. I feel like shit because of it. I really don't want to go into it right now it's far too personal even for this blog. Maybe getting back with her was a big mistake. I'm sure this all has to go into the "I told you so" catagory.

Ok I got that important stuff out of the way.

I just did something I rarely do, I bought new books from a corparate store (Barnes & Noble). I also bought a CD I have been wanting for a couple of months. I ussully buy books from locally owned indipendent book seller and ussually by them used. I probably would have saved like thirty or forty bucks if I did what I ussually do and would have gotten good Karma for supporting small business.

I really spoiled myself. I spent forty-five dollars.

The books I bought are both by Nick Hornby, I have been wanting to read something of his lately.

The first books is  SongBook (previously published as 31 Songs in the UK). It is a collection of essays on music.

The second book is a novel by Hornby from a few years back called How To Be Good. I have read and heard alot of good things about this book and it looks really good.

The CD I bought is Regina Spektor's latest called Begin to Hope. I first heard her a few months ago and have been in love with her music ever since (read my previous blog "this made me cry"). I'm sure the people at the radio station are so frustated that I keep requesting her.

Any way I hope to have a lot of time to read, but I doubt it. I also hope Coral and I can figure our shit out and maybe be together.

Thanks for Reading,

Mark M.
