Refrigerator @ MindSay

Till Tomorrow ........
It was just another eff'd up day.  And there is absolutely no reason for details.  Just know that I could not get online till after 5:00 today ...... or pretty close to it.

So, the refrigerator issue turned into a freaking nightmare this morning with it ending in mom, Dave and I all pissed off at one another.  It's way to long of a story to get into .... so I'm not.  Sometimes we wonder why we bother trying to help though.  Enough said.

Dave and his friend Mitch are taking the trailer in tomorrow.  Dave is still outside doing final touches.  I'm done asking if I can help ..... it just tends to get me in trouble.  I don't know if it is because we are so close to leaving that we are fighting so much, but today has been just stupid.  One argument after another.  Stupid shit.

I will take mom into town tomorrow to look at a couple of refrigerators, make arrangements for delivery and then home to get things packed up to take out Saturday.   And we are gone.  Till we come out.  I don't have to come out till the 14th of July.  And I may not.   I'm gonna have to regardless but it sure nice to think that maybe I won't.  But I will.  Fuck.

Right now we are using a 60's refrigerator .... no shit.  Its pretty funny.  Small.  Olive green.  But it runs and is keeping the food cold.  Obviously not too economical ..... which is why we need to get another one in soon.  In the meantime, thank you for friends who have old refrigerators laying around.

Alright, out of here ...... I'll post tomorrow I'm sure ..... which will probably be my final post till I come out from down river maybe mid week ...... time to get to work ...... gold is beckoning ......

Till tomorrow ...... sleep well ......

Peace.  J.

Quiet Disrupted
The quietness of the morning has now been disrupted by Dave and a friend grinding a mixture of llama poop, horse manure and old hay.  Its loud and its dusty.  And I'm very thankful the breeze is carrying the dust the opposite direction of the house.

Looks to be another beautiful day here.  A day to be outside.  Got some weeding done the other day, it will continue today ..... the never ending job.  I'll try to make it out to the garden for photos today ..... exciting I know.  lol

It seems every time I turn around something is delaying our trip to the river.  The refrigerator is what started this whole trailer revamping.  Buying ice blocks for the old ice box was quite costly and the food was kept cool .... not really cold, ya know?  So with a propane / electric refrigerator we would be stylin'.  But the refrigerator would not fit through the door of the trailer.  But it would fit through a window maybe ..... and the rest is history ..... five new windows, a double sink, a four burner stove / oven combo, a new larger door and of course the refrigerator.  Which ran for two days then went wacko ..... the thermostat went out.  So now we sit and wait for our $110.00 (choked on that one) thermostat to arrive in the mail.

But .... the electrical is all hooked up now .... inside and out, new tail lights and more lights inside.  The insulation is in complete.  I have a nice new closet, albeit small.  A new canned food closet ..... long and narrow w/ slanted shelves.

I will go out in the afternoons and sit in it sometimes ..... staring out the window picturing the scene from the river.  Close my eyes and noise from the cars going down the highway turns into the roaring river.  Open them and reality is in front of me.  The driveway, the house.  The highway.  We will get there.  We will.

Well, that second cup of coffee is calling.  A walk to the garden I think this morning ..... take in some of the cool summer morning air.  But I won't forget the earplugs .... the quietness of the morning disrupted.

And with that I have come full circle.

Happy Fathers Day to you dad's out there.  Happy Sunday to everyone ..... enjoy your day.

Peace.  J.

Refrigerator? What Refrigerator?
My fridge is on the fritz. It's not keeping anything cool but I've called the realty company and they are going to send someone to fix it in the morning. Nothing much going on. Just been working, chillin', playing Mass Effect. I'll also eventually need to get that second job to help the money flow in. I've sent out several applications and resumes and so far, no luck.

One accomplishment today... I nearly forgot
The ice maker in the fridge has been on the blink for about a week and today I decided to look up what could be the cause.  According to repairclinic.com, the water line froze up and therefore, no ice.  The low-cost fix was application of a warm hair dryer to the affected part.  Hey presto!  Water and ice!  I checked to make sure the water line was patent in the back of the fridge and cleaned out the Decon Chelle had thrown back there and gods know what else was spilled down near the front.  Obviously I'm not one of those who pulls out the appliances to clean under them every 3 mos.

I also learned from one of the sites I'd found that the freezing water line is enough of an issue that they have had to make a heater for the line and made a new install kit for those who have the problem.  Of course they didn't make a recall so they wouldn't have to pay for the problem.  If it happens again, I guess I'll have to look into the fix kit.

Isn't life pleasant?
So this morning, around 2 A.M. PST, someone shot up my apartment from outside. Apparently, the shooter broke into a nearby apartment, hogtied the family of 5 living there, stole all of their marijuana (go figure), fired a few shots through the wall (completely destroying their neighbors' 60" Sony LCD TV), then broke out through their backdoor (which faces my apartment), and for whatever reason (most likely pure stupidity) shot a few bullets through my kithen window, through a few separation walls, and straight into the side of our Kenmore refrigerator. The bullet was seemingly destroyed by this final impact, as police could not find it anywhere. If he had missed the fridge, the shots would have pierced another wall and entered my room, right into my bed, possibly even my head (which points toward the kitchen when I sleep). Once again, I'm the lucky person in yet another unsurprisingly dangerous event in my confusingly dangerous life.

I'm not exactly sure why this happened, nor do I know why I always have to come out physically unscathed in these frequent (and usually deadly) occurences…

…but I do know that I'm only buying Kenmore appliances from now on. Who needs kevlar with protection like that?
