Reception @ MindSay
Here are the pictures of "My Oldest Son Wedding Day" October 7, 2006 at 5:00 p.m.
It was held at Ft.McPherson Base in East Point, GA. The reception was at the County Club
on the grounds of the base. It was a beautiful day the sun was shining so brightly and we thank
the Lord for the weather. This is a day I will cherish and remember forever. Everything went
as planned. Can you believe that? Yes, you can if you met my new daughter-in-law. Please do
enjoy the pictures. We are born and raised in New Orleans, LA. And you can not celebrate
an occasion without the umbrellas, handerchiefs and second line music. My family brought New Orleans
to GA. We had such a good time!!!.. This is what we are know for. "Say Bah" means Good
You will have to put the link in your address to see the pictures. That is due to the pictures are on-line at
the photographer's site. And I just cannot copy them and place them on my site. Here is the first
link. They make such a beautiful couple. Don't you think??? Let me know.
You see, my stepbrother and I used to be very close. Then he got too good for me. I have tried to include him in my life- he never showed up. Not at my graduation or my 21st birthday party. I went to his engagement party. I have gone to his events. But this wedding seems to be asking too much.
Ben (the groom) looks amazing in all-white. Not like hot-amazing...more like an angel who just dropped by. And it's Ben, so he's a really laid-back angel. "Hey. Getting married. What's up?"
Miranda could be my cousin in terms of physical resemblance. And the fact that all of my cousins look like me but are absolutely gorgeous all the time - she was beautiful.
I'm thinking if I ever get married, I will not have a flower girl under the age of five. Munchkins are great, but you have a rough time keeping them organized. I believe the only reason that she stayed put for most of the ceremony was because the groom's mother had fruit snacks in her purse.
Wait, Heather already said she wants to be my flower girl. Very well, I will have a flower girl...who's a Good grief, girl, haven't you heard of bridesmaids?
Tony in a tux = very good thing.
Tony's best friend in a tux = opportunity for mischief.
Whilst harassing Adam about his pink waistcoat, I managed to 'astound him' to the point where he didn't have any rebuttal, and Tony said with a grin, "Isn't she awesome?" Oh yeah. I'm grinning now. :)
Mostly hanging out with Ariel. The two of us got chased across the lawn by Kent, who'd been hanging out with a bunch of the guys, working on recruiting one of them. Kent's in the Navy, Roc's planning on Air Force, and Chris is Kent's newest target.
Wearing Tony's coat = yay + warm. Kind of a chilly day for May.
I had to leave and miss part of the reception, on account of having work. I'd managed to get one of the guys to take about half my shift so that I could make the wedding (he's usually very agreeable and a likable chap), but it turned out that we were so short-staffed that we closed two hours early. So, effectively, I showed up and helped them close.
I can't dance. But I love to dance. I have to dance. And I'm pretty sure that the only reason Tony puts up with it is that he gets some entertainment out of it. He keeps threatening to make me foxtrot. If he does, I believe I will do a better job of embarassing him than I did with "Paradise By the Dashboard Lights" at the last one. Hehehe.
I don't know why I'm wired this way, but I have the need to flirt. Not to necessarily build a relationship, just something to do. I blame being in theater through high school - a rather show-offy bunch, you're always onstage, and you're always improvising and pushing limits. But, at some point, I was hanging out with guys more than girls (went through a phase where I didn't get along with any of the girls my age), and unfortunately misled a number of them. So, I reined it in a bit...but now when there's a friend around who's perfectly safe to flirt with, it's an instantaneous reaction.
The thing is, Tony doesn't care, he knows me too well. And Adam's not concerned about me hitting on him for real. But Adam's fiancee is a very short, very cute, very feisty little person - entirely lovable, but you really don't want to make her mad when you're in range. Sigh. So, he doesn't really flirt back. No fun whatsoever. :-P
Left the reception at one point to answer my cell, ran into short'n'feisty. She and Adam were watching one of the flower girls, to give her mom a break. Being one of the bridesmaids, she was looking lovely and freezing - full-length backless gown. Just standing together, talking, watching Adam walking with said flower girl falling asleep on his shoulder. Incredibly sweet.
Amanda + cigarette smoke + dancing = chest hurt. But just on my right side, for some reason.
At some point, we had "Baby Got Back" from the DJ - something about just the girls dancing and the guys watching. Still no comment from Tony on this one. Hehehe.
Drove two of the guys home, one of them being mine. Burlap to Cashmere to listen to - life is good.
My car is not cut out for the 'half-hour hug' Tony and I have started together. It's probably just as well - I had to get home, and he needed sleep.
Ben expressed at one point that he didn't see what the big deal was - it was just a wedding. :D
Yestersday was the day of my wedding reception, the second one actually!
Indeed, my husband and i got married last September in my country in the presence of my friends and family and his parents and brothers. We decided we should have a reception in the US so that we could celebrate the event with his friends and relatives too! So that was it! Less than a year after the "wedding rush" that most people who have experienced mariage know of, we had to go through most of the stress again!
Anyway, my parents-in-law organized most of it (since i was not here to do it myself) and it turned out very nice! The pictures that i took are not of the reception, as i was busy talking to our guests, but of before and after it... I hope to get a hold of pictures of the reception as i know some relatives took some! I don't usually post pictures of myself on here... but i decided to for once...
The day was a total rush as i said before...
First, i had to get my nails and hair done for the occasion, then i had to get made up... So a friend of ours gave me a ride to all the places i needed to got to. It was very nice of her to do that!
This is the result:

After the reception, we decided to set our balloons free: there are our names and my e-mail adress on a cardboard, so if you find it, that would be so nice of you to write!

The party was really nice too, i enjoyed myself, and i hope that everybody else did too!
Some played that game, which i forget the name of!

Others played the guitar and sang! So this is my husband entertaining everyone!

My husband and his brother being silly...

With his friend...

This is the friend who was so kind as to give me a lift downtown, and her boyfriend.

Me and her...

My kitty friend...

5 a.am... Bedtime.. Finally!

You know what.... I just realized that i have no pictures of me and my husband on my camera! That's so silly!Fortunately, i know that other peopl have some...
What happened on the 3rd? Why did so many people visit my blog?
Anyway... busy week this week as my family-in-law and i are getting ready for me and my love's wedding reception that we are giving on Saturday!
