For a long while now TV has consisted of an abundant amount of reality shows, Law and Order repeats, and a few new pilot series that disappear before titles and character names can even be remembered. With both the writers and actors back to work many have hoped that their favorite pastime would again produce some entertaining and quality shows. Unfortunately, TV has just gotten worse thanks to Miss Hilton.
Paris Hilton is coming back to TV in order to find a new best friend – I guess Nicole Richie doesn’t qualify anymore as she gave birth to a daughter and her wild nights and hard partying have appeared to cease. So what is a girl to do? Clearly the answer is to host a reality show in order to find her replacement.
How ridiculous! Even worse is the language used in the press release stating, “The contestants will live together in a house — drama! — and try to prove themselves worthy in the areas of loyalty, endurance and girl politics."
The only thing correct and reflective of Paris in that sentence is the word drama!
Will you watch Paris find a new BFF? Perhaps you are intrigued by her peculiar celebrity?
Or do you wish you never have to see, hear, or watch this wanna-be heiress again?
Big Brother Season 9 contestant Adam Jasinski has a surprise waiting for him when he returns to the real world: he’s been fired from his job at the United Autism Foundation. Jasinski was captured on camera calling autistic children “retards,” a comment that has drawn criticism from autism groups and has some people even calling for the show to be pulled from CBS.
Jasinski won’t find out about being dismissed until he leaves the Big Brother house, since all contestants are forbidden to make contact with the outside world per the rules of the 24x7 reality show.
On one hand, it kind of sucks that every word you say is on camera, but on the other, what kind of d-bag calls autistic children – especially one’s they work with – retards? I don’t think Jasinski’s employer had much of a choice other than to fire him and renounce his remarks.
The truth is slowly unraveling and could prove damaging to other reality shows.
Page Six reiterated today previous reports that "The Hills" is nothing more than a staged production that includes reenactments, scheduled run-ins, and orchestrated love interests. The most recent report of fraud suggests that Lauren’s boy toy in Paris (episodes yet to be aired) was hand selected by the shows producers. This allegation is nothing more than a bullet point added to the laundry list of previously noted editing mishaps caught by celebrity obsessed watchdogs.
The intense coverage and scrutiny of the show has even forced The Hills' main character to come clean. In a recent Q&A session with Entertainment Weekly, Conrad admitted to doing re-shoots of incidences that occurred while the cameras weren’t rolling. She said:
“I went home and called someone [Brody], and the next day talked about it. [MTV] was like, Okay, well, we need to get that on tape, and since they're trying to tell a story the right way, I basically had to go and call [Brody] again, have the exact same conversation on camera”.
Most watching reality shows know that they are fake – audiences simply don’t want to be reminded of it. Pointing out the fraud behind the show takes away the glamour of the characters and the excitement of the storylines.
If reality shows were anything close to our own reality, wouldn’t we all be disinterested?
a House guest, named Eric..He is what is called America's Player. ( Or America's puppet as I like to think of it) Some would call it a 'mole'...
He is given 'tasks' to complete by America voting in.. the last task assigned was to pretend he was sleepwalking and america voted on who he had to climb into bed with.. LOL.. Funny. I do believe America voted for him to climb into Joe's bed.. who is gay..very vocal, very drama filled person... should be funny.
He attempted to do it just a bit ago, not sure if he is going to try it again or this was 'the' time.. haha! Every 5 tasks he completes he earns 10,000. I think this would be his 3rd completed task.
I totally fell off the diet wagon today. I went out to eat with my friend Rachel at a Cajun restaurant. At least I can say I didn't eat it all in one sitting. I took it home and finished it in small increments. However, I just finished polishing off a bowl of Blue Bell Buttered Almond ice cream. Yep, I'm getting back on the wagon tomorrow.
I don't know why, but I've been sleeping way too much. It's starting to annoy me.
The most boring reality show on television right now is "On the Lot". I don't believe this show will be back next year. Maybe its one of the reasons I've been so sleepy today.
One of the things that annoy the hell out of me when people discuss things on blogsites is the tendency for some people to tell you what they think you mean and how they think you feel. What the hell is up with that? If you want to know what I think or feel, then fucking ask me! And for God's sake please don't tell me how I should feel about something!
