Real Men Wear Kilts @ MindSay

Oh happy day!

Today is also International Kilt Day. As a member of the Kilt Appreciation Society (subsidiary of NRL's, INC) I hereby bring you gratuitous kiltspam.

After recent conversation with misshap , I feel a bit guilty for this. But honestly, all the pics in my collection are strictly PG and I'm not objectifying these lovely men- I admire them for their talent and confidence. And accents. Really.

Cap'n Tightpants himself, Nathan Fillion, breathes a bit easier in leather.

Ewan McGregor knows just the angle to stay on the safe side of modesty...

John Barrowman is fully aware of how pretty he is in a kilt. So..... pretty......

The voice himself, Sean Connery

The Doctor, David Tennant. Poor wee laddie, somebody needs to feed the boy a sandwich. He has no hips to hold up his sporran. To quote, erm, someone else- It's meant to be worn as a fig leaf, David, not a shelf.

Pretty pink sweater + possibly velvet kilt? Interesting combination, but Gerard Butler makes it work.

Observant folks may have noticed a trend among all the lads pictured thus far, something they all have in common other than looking fine in a kilt. (Any guesses?)

And of course, can't leave out my favorite Lost Boy, Prince Aaron the Moor.

Tragically, I cannot find my all time favorite kilt pic- an old magazine ad, I think it was for Glenfiddich. Brau laddie in naught but kilt and boots, leaning on his lovely big claymore... canna' find it. *sobs*

It's ok to wear a kilt, even if you're a little chicken. :)

Got any good kilt pics for me?

Have a happy happy kilts & cheap chocolate day!

International Kilt Day: Yet Another Reason to Celebrate Men Without Pants!
I just found out about this: trilliann  has informed us that it is International Kilt Day.   To celebrate, I tracked down the following videos from a collection I found on YouTube celebrating these men not wearing pants:

Kilt Fashion Show from summer 2007

Guilty Kilts Fashion Show: Boys Strutting their Stuff
Some of these kilts are AWESOME. Let's hear it for these guys!

Proof that men in kilts can be intimidating!
(from a Scotch commercial)

If more men wore kilts, it would be proof that they LOVE us!

Somebody was complaining that they couldn't read my shirt.

Better?

Stone Mountain Highland Games, Part 1

It was a beautiful crisp, cool day at Stone Mountain park for the 34th annual Stone Mountain Highland Games and Scottish Festival.

Beautiful location on the water (with just a hint of menace in the air...)

According to Scottish tradition, every family clan has their own distinct tartan patterns. This began because the local weavers for each area would favor certain patterns and colors, and eventually these patterns came to represent the main family. Handy for the constantly warring Celts- if you know your tartans, you can tell at a glance if a stranger belongs to a family that is friend or foe. In modern times, businesses sometimes have tartans designed to represent their company.

This appears to be the tartan for Clan UPS Delivery.

At least 100 different Clans and Tribes were represented with their own booths, from McDonalds to Martians.

There is a huge variety in what people wear with their kilts- traditional to hippies to cowboys.

A man is never too young to learn to wear the kilt.

More pictures, stories- maybe even video- in the next day or two.
