mrsmile visited my blog today. S/he* wished me a "WONDERFUL tomorrow."

* I don't know whether this is a he or she. It could be "Mr. Smile." Or "Mrs. Mile."  Or it could be an acronym of sorts. But that doesn't really matter.

What matters is that I smiled.  And I felt good.

mrsmile was simply passing along RAOK -- Random Acts of Kindness -- to my blog. There's an explanation on his/her blog -- as well as its own blog at raok. Brilliant stuff -- the idea is to pass along kindness to each other through the blogosphere. The cost of being kind to a stranger? Minimal. But the impact? Priceless.

There's nothing cuter than a huggable cat with opposable thumbs. And it can open its own cans of food.  Happiness galore!

Which is why I'm going to get in on the action. And I encourage you all to as well.

Honey attracts more flies than vinegar.

 

 

Now ... who the heck wants to attract flies, you might ask.  Well ... for those of you who have never heard this saying, the pertinent thought is that at one time or another, we all want to attract the good rather than the not-so-good from others.  This little saying instructs us on the proper method of drawing forth the kindness of others.  Another way of saying it is that we reap what we sow.  If we sow kindness, generally speaking, kindness is what we will reap.  In those events, when our natural inclination is to attack or become defensive, if we can speak a word of kindness rather than words spoken mit attitude, a postive response will generally follow ... at least, most of the time.  Honey is the sweetness of kind words deserved or undeserved.
