One Of Those I Don't Have Anything To Post Post .......
Alright so I am totally lacking for anything of any substance to post ..... so, what else is new, huh? So I'll just start a ramble and see where we end up. Yep, one of those scary kind of posts.
1. Mom left today on a five day trip with her senior group up to Washington. I had to have her at the bus at 7:00 this morning which meant getting up at five to start coffee, smoke a bowl, get dressed, load her and her luggage up, stop at the ATM, pick up her friend, load up her and her luggage (and both of their walkers), go to the post office (an unexpected side trip) and get them over the hill to Yreka to the bus. WHEW! By 7:30 I was whipped for the day. You try wrestling walkers at 6:15 in the morning. They won the battle ..... trust me.
2. Laundry. Yep .... have plenty to do. So I will ..... eventually ..... when I get my butt up from this computer.
3. I know you are all dying (yeah, right) to know about our little visit to Cecilville which could of ended up badly ..... but it didn't. So here is long story short ..... With me being already tipsy from a few beers before we headed out it didn't take much for me to get flat out wasted once we got to the bar for burgers. While waiting for our food in walks three kids (two probably 22-23 and one 19). The youngest a girl looked really familiar to me and she was kinda looking at me so I asked her her name. "Boo" she said. And I knew immediately where I knew her from. She had worked for me a very short period bussing tables at the restaurant where I worked. So we started talking ..... and her boyfriend turned out to be the son of someone I have known since I was a kid and started coming up here. Small world. The third kid ..... rather rough looking ..... and gangster looking with his tattooed neck and face I had never seen before but turned out that Dave grew up next door to his distant cousins or something like that .... so we all sat and talked and partied a bit. Then Dave got up and went in the store to buy a 12-pack and some Swishers (cigars) to take home. I sat outside with the three kids and waited for Dave. Boo asked me for a Swisher and I gave her one. Her boyfriend asked for a beer ..... so I gave him one. After that I'm not really sure what happened (and I hate that) but apparently when Dave grabbed me and our purchases up to leave the tattooed dude took the beer and cigars (and four candy bars) away from Dave and said they belonged to him. Dave said he didn't think so .... and the dude said he bought them ..... they were his ..... and it got uglier from there I guess. The 12-pack ended up torn apart ..... we made it home with three beers. Dave didn't want to fight or end up in jail so they got our cigars and our fucking candy bars. When you are out in the middle of fucking nowhere .... in their fucking territory ..... what do you do? Like I said ..... we will meet again and paybacks are a motherfucker. So much for a long story short.
4. Looks like it could rain this weekend. Not sure when we are heading back into claim but am worried about leaving it alone long due to the aforementioned story.
5. I need to get something productive done. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
6. Thats all folks ..... all I have for now ...... to bad so sad.
Peace. J.

(no subject)
Closing my eyes the sound of the wind through the trees reminds me of the river.
Its comforting. Soothing.
June 3rd.
Counting the days to the river.
Pop a beer ..... stroll outside. Take in the smells and sounds of the summer showers.
Breathe in. Exhale.
Tadpoles. Lots of tadpoles. Chocolate mint emitting its faint pleasant smell from around the pond.
The plum tree ..... loaded with tiny plums ..... the birds and I waiting anxiously for the sweet flavor.
Llamas chewing their hay ..... the chickens scratching nearby.
Petey at my heels. Lola and Joe lag behind. Elvis crows his approval at our passing.
A faint "meow" in the distance ..... Lola's tail wags ..... its Chevy running as fast as her little feet will allow ...... her girl is outside! ..... Lola and Chevy greet each other warmly as old friends do.
The sound of the shovel as Dave digs at the end of the house. Another project almost completed.
Chilly spring evening upon us. More rain possible. Dark clouds to the West. Pack a bowl head outside to see my man. Feed the dogs then dinner prep for us.
Another day passes ...... another day gone ...... tomorrow stands to be busy.
Enjoy.
Peace. J.

Mother's Day / Sunday Ramble
Spent most of my day outside yesterday weeding.
Weeding for me is very therapeutic. The tendency to get lost in thought and take in the sounds and smells of the day help to distract from unwanted feelings.
Will need to finish what I started yesterday today ..... my fingers aching from arthritis ..... put an end to a project almost completed. Then one more large, the largest of course, saved the best for last ..... flower bed to weed out and I can then plant whenever. Had decided not to plant flowers this year .... mainly because Dave and I will be in at the claim more than home this summer .... but then thought about it and mom really enjoys her yard in the summer .... and the flowers brighten it up. So flowers will get planted and on the days we come home from the claim I will do quickie weedings. That way she can still show off her yard to her friends. Which she loves to do.
And for Mother's Day mom requested BBQ'd chicken ..... so today will be our first grilling of the season. Fresh asparagus picked from our garden will go on the grill as well. Maybe some grilled garlic bread, too. Mom had brought home a flat of strawberries the other day and made two strawberry rhubarb pies for a bake sale and the left over berries are just needing some shortcake to make for a yummy dessert. So my afternoon project .... shortcakes. Not sure what all else we will have but something. lol
Dave is off to help a friend haul some logs today ..... mom will be at church ..... so will have the house to myself for a little while anyway.
Petey woke me up with sweet eye kisses, Joe jumped up and snuggled for a few minutes and Miss Lola ..... is in Lola land ..... she was just wondering when breakfast was coming .... and doing her morning Lola dance. Dave is feeling much better .... breathing much easier and I seem calmer so far today. All in all not a bad start to a Sunday.
Hearing some noise from the kitchen ..... mom is up and moving. Guess I better go give her a hug and wish her a good Mother's Day. This wasn't the day I would of planned for her but it will do. The sun is out ..... so far the wind is calm, it will be a good day for a BBQ. To bad Dave won't be here during the day .... I'd have him make some of his famous, way to yummy potato salad. And I don't attempt to even try and make it. It just never compares.
So ..... to all the mom's in my network and beyond (who stumble upon this if you do) I wish you a very Happy Mother's Day. Enjoy your families.
Peace. J.

COME ON SPRING! A Ramble ...... Part 2
Just checking in on this first day of March. As normal it seems fairly quiet for a Saturday. And I can only imagine that as the weather gets nicer and nicer the weekends will get quieter and quieter.
Yet another beautiful day .... not as warm as yesterday .... but believe it is supposed to warm up for tomorrow and tomorrow is ...... geocaching day! In fact once I post this I'm off to find a route .... thinking we'll go North. Been awhile.
Exercised this morning with the Police .... which always brings back some fond memories with some long ago friends. Down 15 lbs. this morning. Which made me very happy. All the sweating is truly worth it.
More laundry today .... my never ending chore. It has always amazed me the two people can have as much laundry as we do. But with Dave either playing in dirt or grease daily ..... clothes pile up quickly. I once thought when we closed our auto shop my laundry would lighten up a bit ..... lol ..... nice thought, but not a chance. As the saying goes .... boys will be boys ..... and my boy enjoys getting dirty.
Also will vacuum both bedroom and living room .... maybe even actually dust Dave's marbles .... I keep putting it off .... and as much as I have complained .... he hasn't done it yet. He did get pissy one day and threaten to remove them from the mantel ..... lol ..... I explained to him that really wasn't much of a threat ..... and it wouldn't hurt my feelings one bit. He shut up and the marbles are still there .... undusted.
So far my day has been pleasant .... hoping it stays that way.
Enjoy your Saturday all .....
Peace. J.

Come On Spring! A Ramble .....
What always amazes me is that I can be driving ..... laying in bed at night ..... taking a shower ..... and I can think of a thousand things I want to write about. And then I sit down in front of the computer and ..... mind fart.
Took my time driving to Yreka and back today to drop off the insurance forms. At least I got them turned in before the month ended ..... whew! A warm breeze has been blowing today and it felt good to have the windows down a bit allowing the fresh air in. A bit cloudy today, but the sun broke on through enough to keep me smiling.
Thought about cutting the hair .... soon .... maybe before we go to Eureka on the 14th. Almost bought some hair color today ..... then didn't. Actually kind of like the silver that has been taking over .... think I had an age 50 freak out for a minute or two. Believe it or not it still kind of freaks me out when the reality hits now and then that I really am 50. Holy crap ..... who would of thunk it .... ?
A smile comes to my face when I think of our josiejunk turning 40. I panicked at 30 .... didn't deal with it well at all .... but 40 .... well, I dealt with 40 by losing 40+ pounds and coloring my hair red. Yes, red. I love red hair and always will. Am extremely jealous of redheads. I kept my hair different shades of red for the next few years. And I don't know if lauralew remembers or not but she cried and got very upset the first time she saw my red hair. It was kind of funny and sad at the same time. She got over it quick enough though. lol
Dave has been really kicking some butt in the yard. He has the apple tree pruned and a couple of the flower beds cleared out from fall / winter duff. Snow is still melting the most shaded areas but almost gone from everywhere else. The chickens have come out of the coupe after a long winter in the last few days and have seemed to enjoy themselves quite a lot. Guess I'll help Dave get the garden cleaned out one day this weekend and then put the pressure on to go caching. He's trying hard to get everything done so that once it is warm enough to head on over to the claim .... we will. And I am getting very excited. Looking forward to an entire summer on the claim. YES! We will probably be in for five days and out for two .... mixing up our in and out days to keep anyone who may know we are in there confused as to when we are actually in there. We also have someone who may come up the days we are here and hang out there watching and mining. Told him he can keep what he finds ..... unless it is like a huge pocket of nuggets .... then we will talk ..... lol.
The kitchen is needing some company. Dinner is needing to be cooked. Have a few things that I need to get done this weekend ..... little things ..... but still need to make sure that they do get done.
Rambling on and on ..... and probably could for a while longer ..... but I won't.
Have a great Friday evening and a good weekend.
Peace. J.
