Raise @ MindSay

The economy spoke to the company I work at today.  We closed an office.  I do not know how many people worked there but there are only a few left to keep it going until the end of July.  They are there to close things up and if we have any returns.  It is sad for the company.  We may be looking at closing another store soon but not right now.

 

On the good side I got a $2.00/hr raise!  Closing that office freed up some money for my overdue raise.  In talking with the CFO he said it may be a year before my next one unless the economy picks up sooner but he said that I have been doing an excellent job and a much better one than the person I replaced.  I should have gotten this raise much sooner and he appreciated me for not bailing on the company.  I did not tell him I have been looking around for something else or an extra job for about two months now. 

 

So I feel a bit better about things right now.  A bit.

im really excited about work right now. i was talking to my boss last night after work and she said that she punched me in for a raise,( it has to be approved by whoever is over her). Anyway i asked her how much, like 5 cents or something? and she was like"no, 25cents. i almost fell off my chair, while a quarter doesnt seem like much it adds up and nobody gets a 25 cent raise at least not very often. I was really shocked. i also talked to her about becoming a crew trainer, thats the next level at my job, and she said that as soon as i get all my SOC's (paperwork, questions about work etc.) i can be one and they make 15 more cents on the hour. plus i am training the new girl today and tommorow. i am really happy about all this.. i needed something to cheer me up...

I finally got my crown last Fri.  It's a lovely thing in yellow gold.  Why can't we have crowns in white gold?  I look better in white metal ;)  I guess I like seeing the dentist...  I've found a broken filling.  I don't know how old this filling is, but I think I have a bit of a cavity underneath.  Bummed.

It's been so damn cold here in the So Cal area (especially the High Desert) that they've lost something like 70% of the citrus crop.  Pipes are freezing all over the High Desert.  Even the other office we use had a burst pipe this weekend.  I guess the water was pouring out for at least 3 hrs.  Right in the middle of the treatment area.  The ceiling has come down in the waiting area and the treatment area.  I haven't seen the damage personally, but descriptions aren't good.  There are waiting lists for every plumber in the area.  They must be raking in the cash right now.

I did get a better raise this year than last.  Last year was $0.50/hr and this year was $1.00/hr.  That makes me happy! :)  Happy and surprised! 

Soooo tired this week.  I just want to sit and sleep most times.  I haven't done anything to be so tired about. 

Back to loving Chris Doyle. Lol.  I do. 

 

Onto everyone else.  Melissa isn't sure what is going on with her and Rob.  It's freaking me out.  But, she has been being really cool lately.  She bought me the shirt I am wearing.  Lol. I love it. 

 

I found out more crap about all these kids and the nonsense going on.  I hate people.  Not hate them.  Not at all, I don't hate them. I just don't get what motivates some people to do certain things. It just doesn't make sense.  Ahh, whatever.  That's them.

 

Ryan and I are really good, I think.  I still think he is afraid to get close to me, well afraid to love me, but that's ok.  Alyssa said he will, he'll just do it Ryan's way and in Ryan's time(but I bet she meant *Rian. Lol.)  That's really kept me going lately.  He keeps talking about her more and more though, which I guess is really good.  It makes me a little uncomfortable, just because I don't know how to repond.  But, he probably doesn't know how to respond to me when I say certain things.  Hmm, all in all, we're good for each other. I doubt anyone gets this post.  Haha.

 

My stepdad is in town and taking me to lunch in about 20 minutes. I am excited.

 

OH, AND BITCHES!!!  I AM GOING PERMANENT!!!!!!!  Around the first of the year, I will be a permanent full time employee with benefits and getting a big raise!  I am so goshdarn excited.  I still get to do all my school, by taking the few day classes I know I have to in order to pass them. Lol.  My schedule will still work around me, I just have to try and be here more.  Maybe, just one or two dayclasses.  But, yahoo.  More money.  Hopefully invest in an appt. with someone here soon.  Well, springish is what I am planning on.  Do a year lease and figure out where I am going from there after that.  Yessss.  And, Carrie will have her baby soon.  It's gunna kick so much ass.  AREN'T YOU EXCITED FOR ME???

Well i passed my semi-annual performance appraisal at Dish Network, and will get a small raise from it, in addition to the 5% raise from becoming a level 2 TSR agent.  They haven't appeared on my pay checks yet, though, if i'm lucky i'll see one of them this Friday, but more likey it/they will be on the paycheck in a fortnight from next Friday.

Sadly our team's current "coach" (manager), is changing jobs, he was a very good coach and very knowledgeable and we'll be moving to a different team and coach, hopefully he/she will be good.  I'll probably continue having my current schedule, though.

I've been "meeting" interesting people through e-harmony.

Almost finished watching season 2 of LOST on dvd, it's great!  Coming up soon in my Netflix queue: Battlestar Galactica, the second half of season 2.  My #1 movie recomendation at the moment is Cape of Good Hope.  It's a wonderful movie.
