The Other Anchor...
Yes. I admit it. I have a rather (un)healthy obsession with MNBC news anchor Alison Stewart. She's been wonderful ever since her MTV NEWS "Choose or Lose" days. Watching her -- especially when she subs in for Ken Olberman on "Countdown" -- is like a... symphony.

But she wasn't my first news anchor love.

That honor goes to another breathtakingly beautiful woman. I actually loved her voice before I ever saw her -- she was a host of NPR's "Morning Edition" on one of the local public radio stations. And then she made the jump into televised news, being a correspondent and sometimes guest anchor on WRC-TV 4 in our Nation's Capital.  She's always had a very friendly, casual attitude through her interviews and guest appearances. Truly a friendly person. Truly connecting with her audience. Truly a babe.

With this I say: Happy 50th Birthday, Wendy Rieger! I'll never forget you, my first televised news crush...

music will end at noon today.
I wonder why Washingtonians have a reputation of being boring and uptight?   People think they don't even like to listen to music I guess?!.... Sadly, we lost another decent radio station that played "modern music".  what's playing now?  classical music, now i have nothing against classical.  I once in a while turn to it for relaxation and  for my cats, but this is riduculous.   We lost a radio station last year, completely out of the blue, and it's happened again.  I just read that the classical music will be replaced by news radio sometime very soon.  The only thing we care about, news, politics, business.  News radio already takes up several other channels, but they want to reach more people so they say.  ..so more news radio to come
The article says "It will be smart, savvy, provocative and thoughtful. News hungry Washington is the best town for this new format." blah blah blah.

i like to be educated and up on the news, but i want some music also!!!!!!!!!!

Radio Lee Roth...
It's official - David Lee Roth is taking over for Howard Stern in many of his major markets.

Apparently, DC won't be one of them - as we're getting local radio personalities "The Junkies."  The lesser of two evils, I guess...

I have a feeling I'll be listening to the all-news station for my commute into work in 2006. Or MP3s...
