Lost: Station 6: "The Orchid" Orientation Video

Below is a video I found on Lostpedia describing perhaps the most interesting of the Dharma Initiative's Stations on the Island. The symbol for "The Orchid" is believed to be the same one found on Ben's parka in the episode "The Shape of Things to Come," where he appears suddenly in the middle of the Sahara Desert with no tracks around him anywhere.

thousings

am i the worm or the rabbit? could the entertaintment of today be corrumposing our children to do the things we only think about doing in our most twissssssssssssssted fantasies?

probably.

in this frailgile state of mindset i have takenshaken it upon the univertisement to pleasure me in to a falsified state of willing insadness.

who is the worm?

who is the angel?

will the rabbit put us down the hole or save our souls?

the promiscuity of ideas seems to effect more generations than the brotherhood thought possible.

Not a good evening
I had to do something unpleasant this evening. When I went to the stables to get the horses in, I noticed a rabbit outside the tackroom. Straight away I could tell that things were not right with it as it didn't try to run away; it just ambled towards stable 3. As I got closer my worst fears were confirmed - it had myxie. Its eyes were swollen & pussey, and what little of the actual eyeballs I could see were red.

Myxie is a horrible disease for which there is no cure. I decided the best thing to do would be to put the poor thing out of its misery. The rabbit still had a bit of life in it and ran off as I approached. It only got a few feet into the field, though, before it lay down panting. I went into the field and managed to grab it by the scruff.

Those of you who are a bit squeamish should stop reading now.

I lifted it up, turned it over onto its back, held its head and flicked its body like a whip. I heard its neck snap. Unfortunately it didn't kill it outright, so I did it again. The poor rabbit was still alive. I've never known a rabbit to survive 1 flick like that, let alone 2. I knew I had to finish the job, though, so I wrenched its head round & heard its neck break for a 3rd time. It was still breathing!

The only thing I could think to do was to throttle it; so I held it on the ground, squeezed its throat & turned its head right round. The way I was holding it I could feel its heart beating. After about a minute its heart stopped. I'm not squeamish, but I hated it taking so long for the poor thing to die. I put the body in the incinerator & burned it.

I know I did the right thing so I don't have any regrets - I just wish the 1st flick had killed it so it didn't suffer any longer than necessary.

Back in the day
back in the day.jpg hosted for free by ImageShack

I was cleaning out the spare bedroom today, getting ready for my new roommate to move in and while cleaning I found an old picture of me back in the day.  It is kindof blurry but hey, it is an old pic.  It was when I was dating my ex-wife.  I kept some pics from back then just for memories sake but I don't remember this pic being taken.  I was a stud back then or at least I thought I was.  I wonder if I could ever look like that again?  My moustache was a bit too long but who cares?  I never look at those pics and wonder if I should even keep them.  Funny thing though, I never, ever think or talk about her but my aunt and I went to Townsend today and while there we drove past the hotel that the ex and I stayed at one time.  It was a nice place but, well no need to go into it.

I just wonder if I could ever look like that again.  I told my aunt I never hardly ate back then.  Exercised all of the time.  Back in the day.

In other news, I let the cats out early this morning and when I went to leave the house one of them had brought me a present.  I at first thought it was another squirrel.  But when I went out with the shovel to scoop it up I turned over a rabbits head.  Now that was not what I was expecting and was very disappointed.  I like watching the rabbits in the back yard.  The bunnies need to be left alone.  As well as the ground squirrels.  I wished that there was a way, other than keeping the felines indoor all of the time, to keep them from doing that
