Postcards @ MindSay

Today in church we were sitting there waiting
for the second offering to be collected, and
instead these people were passing out postcards.
On the postcards they told us to put our name
and address. They did not tell us what they were for,
well I didn't fill one out. Well many people were looking
confused and didn't wanna sign. Then the priest stands up
and says that the postcards were going to Arkansas
senators (since I go to the church on the Arkansas side)
to help protest Pro-Choice and get laws in Arkansas
passed that were Pro-Life. So then I definitely didn't
fill one out. People were looking at me with judgmental
glances, and one lady asked me why I didn't fill one out,
and I told her I was not going to be a hypocrite and fill out
something I did not believe in. I forget that mostly everyone in
the Texarkana region is conservative. I miss Boston

PostSecret has gone down? Does anyone here know something I don't?

PostSecret is a blog where people send the owner postcards. Sound mundane until you explain the fact that the postcards are handmade and inscribed with a secret that the person wants to share with the world. It can be funny, or sad, or more often than not... Simply moving. Once the postcard has been sent to the owner of the blog, Frank Warren, a selection is chosen and added to the site every sunday. Anonymously, your secret will be shared with all it's readers. For some this brings great relief; a weight lifted off their shoulders. For others it inspires them into action, into changing this thing on their mind... Hopefully for the better. But most of all, it brings hope. Hope for people in the world that feel alone and scared. It is a big reminder that everyone, far and wide, can have exactly the same problems, and that people can get through them.


PostSecret is one of my favourite websites, and every sunday, that site is pretty much the FIRST I visit to see all the new postcards. Has Google removed it due to it's popularity? Is it just a technical error? Has anybody heard ANYTHING? I'm really sad if it's permanently removed.

Good stuff. So I made a postcard for www.postsecret.com that has a picture of my mom and I cut into a heart, Elvis, Enya, a clip art image of a nurse and NW Montana with Kalispell and Flathead Lake circled. I wrote "Everyday I worry that she died not know how much I loved and needed her. I was only thirteen. 8/27/48-11/23/01" That kinda makes me feel better.

 

I'm finally leaving the campus, gonna go with Anna to run errands. Good stuff..

 

I'm gonna post my narrative essay. I had to write it to an audience and I picked Sydnie who's mom was diagnosed with cancer last August.
