Portrait @ MindSay

Just been working on exercising my ink drawing skills.  Did a few self portraits to warm my fingers up for doing other drawings...  Did too much detail for a simple warm up project here and ended up making my right arm sore.  I'll do some more later.  Just wanted to post these for now.  Astute readers will note that I changed my profile picture to the little black and white comic booky illustration from the top right of the portraits.  Just me and a little exclamation mark says it all...

We had an extended family x-mas exchange today. (Yes today!) The place was at a bar that used to be an old warehouse or perhaps factory. It was neat. The kids played pool and danced while we ate "bar food". ;)



It began to sleet & snow; making the roads slippery.



The area where we were has alot of older buildings.


Overall it was a very fun day!

I like this one because it has a "feeling" that it should be on a cd cover or something. Almost Johnny Cash like...

As I sit and ponder more,

It strikes me that you were there,

That gave the stars their perfect glare.

First, I am in a computer lab and I move here in a blur.  I am sitting, and usually sit, at the computer you see here in the Fine Arts building at UWSP.  This lab is not frequently used by other students, so this place is my usual haunt because I never have to wait to get online or have to put up with anyone interupting my work. 

 

I had an unusually sweet sweet cinnamon roll and black coffee for breakfast.  My fingers were crudded up with the frosting.  On my left hand you'll see a new addition to the rings I wear; a lovely black onyx from Bali worn on my ring finger.  Onyx is a good stone for freeing you from past relationships and bad love affairs! 

 

The coffee cup has several cards printed on it: Queen of Spades, Seven of Diamonds, Ace of Clubs, a Wild card, and a Four of Hearts.  On the bottom of the cup is a Wild card.  I don't play Poker, so I have no idea what sort of hand I have there...

 

Even after washing, my fingers are still slightly sticky from the cinnamon roll.  

 

Ew.  I found a peach pit near my mouse pad.  It's still sitting there.  I don't want to pick it up because of the germs...

 

My bag is filled with two notebooks, lipgloss, and CDs.  I wear a lot of black clothing.  My coat is a deep grey wool.

 

My black leather boots have a thick heel that adds four inches to my height.  My boots are made for walking through deep snow.  In the hallway I make heavy clomping noises when I walk.  In the snow, I wouldn't make a sound.  There is no snow today. 

 

I wear several layers of clothing, but today I don't think I'll need them because the weather is looking warm.  I wear a silver six legged dragon on the left collar of my jacket.  The dragon was a gift from my previous employer.  The dragon is from Ireland.

 

A view from my chin reveals my pentagram.  Also a gift, given to me by Selena Fox on Samhain 1993.

 

I am a jewelery hound.  I can always be seen with big hoop earrings that jingle.

 

Earlier, at home, I put my bare feet up on my book board next to my stuffed owl, Hootessa.

 

Yes, I realize that my toenails are not the same color as my fingernails...  You'll also note that my big toes have little glass jewels on them as well.  I've become addicted to funky nail polish by OPI (my favorite brand, btw) and feel naked without out it.
